How to rename a folder created by Windows

Hello

After setting up my windows (as a first use), Windows has automatically created several files on the laptop.  But in the process, I accidentally got my name and the system took just as a completion.  I mean - for example, my name is Smith, after typing Smi I touched something by accident and Windows took "smi" under my name.  Now, I changed the username and the name of the computer with no problems.  However, I also want to change the name of the folder in this path: Computer: \Packard Bell (C): \Users:\Smi I want to change it back to Smith.

Advice please?

Take a look at this thread:

http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_vista-files/can-i-change-a-particular-user-name-in-cusers/71747b3e-F5de-4346-b54a-11d2ef6d2d30

It's quite complicated. If you don't have a compelling reason to change it, I would live with it.

    ===========================================
    When you save the project file... go to... File / save project as...
    Give the file a name (Summer Vacation.mswmm) and choose
    your save location.

    All the files (Photos, video clips, Audio clips) source should
    appear on the USB key and if you have the intention of re - edit the
    project on another computer... it should have the same
    version of Movie Maker. Sometimes a later version of the film
    Machine to will open the files but sometimes won't.

    ===========================================
    This is correct. MSWMM is a Movie Maker project file which is
    is useful for a re-release in Movie Maker. And... the source files
    (Photos, video clips, Audio clips) should be available in the
    original locations...
    ===========================================
    > Also, I am inclined to believe that the files remain available in the

    ===========================================
    When a. MSWMM file project opens the thumbnails...
    remain available in the Collections of Movie Maker component as
    as long as the Source, the files are available in the places that they
    were imported initially from.

    If the source files have been moved, renamed, deleted or are
    unavailable, the thumbnails in the component Collections
    Movie Maker displays red Xs and the project cannot be
    edited.

    If the source files are still available... it is possible that you may
    Right-click the red Xs and navigate to the current location of the
    the source files and restore the path.

  • How to rename a folder of bookmarks?

    I created a folder based on bookmark and now I want to rename it. How can I do?

    You can also do this in the properties via the context menu.
    It is not possible in the Manager of bookmarks (library), but should be possible in all other cases, the sidebar and menu as the menu bookmarks and the drop-down list "Show bookmarks".

  • How to rename a folder?

    I can't locate the command to rename a bookmark - I looked in "Show all bookmarks" and then "Organize Favorites".

    Use show all bookmarks, or organize Favorites, they both open the bookmarks library or the Bookmarks Manager. If you select a folder or a bookmark, its information is displayed and can be edited. AFAIK the name still shows by default, columns and other elements are optional.

    Once you create a new folder: open, and then long press the title of folder - it will prompt you for a new name.

  • How to keep the folder views in Windows?

    Original title: folder settings (options?) return that think Vista is 'practice '.

    I have this desktop of Vista (Dell vostro 1700) for 3 years now, and he gave me no trouble so far. Vista doesn't remember my settings in Office 2003, for example. Really hard with my (working) translation software, often using MS Word.

    But my problem now is: before I had an accident, it would return the views of my folders to tile all the time. No matter how many times I changed the settings to 'details' and to apply this setting to all folders every time I put my computer back on or open another folder, it would be again in "tiles". It's boring, I can't find something of a bitch in "tiles", and it's especially annoying because I told the computer to hundreds of times how I want to see my work, and she always returns to his favorite all time settings.  Now I have a new hard drive installed, want to use this computer as my mainframe for work and leisure, because my office is really slow, old and worn out (2003), and I want to go abroad for a long time and must be able to rely on it, particularly when it 'does what I want it to"it is.

    What is needed for Windows Vista to finally remember my settings and obey my orders?

  • How to stop desktop folder open in windows Explorer at startup?

    Whenever I start my laptop (windows 7) windows Explorer opens with the desktop folder.  I can't stop what's happening, and it drives me crazy (well there really difference, I just closed but it's just one of those things I can't stop annoying)

    Please can someone tell me how I can prevent this?  I tried MSCONFIG, but I see nothing there that refers to the folder of the office.

    Thank you

    Hi Ellen

    He is a longshot, but try the following and be careful when you edit the registry.

    Open the Registry Editor and navigate to the following key.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

    In the right window, look at the Shell value.

    This value should show Explorer.exe and nothuing else.

    If it shows than anything else, right-click the Shell value and select modify.

    Delete everything in the value data area except  Explorer.exe.

    Click OK.

    If you have made any changes, restart and test the results.

    NOTE: Make sure that you do not delete the Explorer.exe in the value of the hull, since it is responsible for displaying the interface of windows when you start the computer.

    If it does not, when you start the computer and the desktop folder pops up, look at the path in the address bar to this folder. Click on an empty spot in the address bar and copy / paste this path into an answer here.

  • VMware Fusion 2.0.5 How to import virtual VMware created on Windows machine

    I have a SLES 11 Virtual Machine has been created under VMware on Windows XP.  I received the SLES 11 VM in a zip file and unzipped in the ./Documents/Virtual Machines / directory on my Mac OS X host.  This has created a subdirectory called SLES-11 under the above path.  I was able to click on the contained in this directory .vmx file to get the merger to open, date at which he asked if I wanted to move the VM, and I can it do, and then told me to install VMware Tools after the VM through the startup.

    However, all my other virtual machines on the Mac with Fusion appear to be a type of package (the only visible file under ./Documents/Virtual Machines / for each of them is a .vmwarevm file).  I would like to SLES 11 VM I brought back from VMware on windows to be treated like the others I installed locally on Mac OS X in Fusion.  I tried to use the function import in the merger, however, it greys the file .vmx in the list of files, select to import.  In fact, virtually all of the files in the directory tree are grayed out except for the directory SLES-11 file itself and a few other files.  However, even if I select those the 'Open' button becomes never selectable so that I can import anything.

    Would it because I already open the .vmx file directly?  I see the VM SLES 11 as an option to open when I display the window library Virtual Machine.  Should I remove the virtual machine and do an import from the unzipped directory before trying to open the virtual machine to run it?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Best regards

    Ted

    With Virtual Machine to stop, not suspended and the merger closed just add ".vmwarevm" in the folder "SLES-11"and this will make a VM like those created by default by merging Document Package.»  Open Fusion and remove the existing entry for 'SLES 11' in the windows of the library of the Virtual Machine and then double-click the Virtual Machine SLES 11 Document Package.
