How to rename a pinned tab

Just installed Firefox and manually move my tabs (bookmarks) pinned over the opera. I looked for a link to be able to rename the tabs, but failed. Could you help her?
Thank you

You cannot permanently change the names of the tabs because it is defined in the source code of Web pages.

If you always keep the same session, consider using an add-on as title tag rename.

    I created a two pinned tabs. We have a very generic icon and the other has no icon. How to choose an icon for the pinned tabs? Can it be done? Using a hack is fine too.

    You can probably do it with the code in the userChrome.css file.

    Here is an example that works for Gmail.

    Add code to the file userChrome.css below default @namespace.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #tabbrowser-tabs .tabbrowser-tab[pinned][label^="Gmail"] .tab-icon-image {
     list-style-image: url("https://ssl.gstatic.com/ui/v1/icons/mail/images/favicon5.ico") !important;
    }

    The file userChrome.css (UI) customization and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the folder of chrome in the Firefox profile folder.

  • How to rename the bookmarks pinned to the taskbar?

    Firefox 18.0

    I have a few bookmarks pinned to the taskbar. They show the URL of the link, not the name of the bookmark. For example; in my menu bookmarks, I have a bookmark named "hotmail", but when I pin in the Firefox icon in the taskbar, it appears as https://login.live.com.

    How to rename or get it to show the same name as the menu drop-down?

    Step 1: Create a bookmark to the URL in firefox with the name you want.
    Step 2: Drag the bookmark on the desktop (it can create it with the IE icon)
    Step 3: Drag the icon to the icon of firefox pinned in the taskbar. This should pin the URL in firefox with the name. It will be useful.

  • Firefox has recently discontinued. I opened it again, and I had lost my pinned tabs. How can I find/restore them?

    Firefox sometimes stops, but this time I opened it as usual and my pinned tabs have been lost. I searched through the parameter etc but I can't find a way to get back them, or at least to find them. Any ideas?

    Do not close Firefox. Please save all your files of sessionstore in a safe place for potential recovery/recovery operations.

    You can open the settings file (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

    In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button.

    In the window that launches, scroll down and save a copy of all the files whose names begin with sessionstore to a safe place, such as your Documents folder. If not too much time has passed, we may be able to use to recover your blank tabs.

    Then you could check the menu history for 'restore previous Session "? This can appear on the application ('3-bar' menu) or on the menu bar.

    If 'Restore previous Session' is grayed out, then either Firefox has already loaded your session previous windows and tabs, or could not load the file. Check the menu history the possibility of re-opening closed windows and then labels in each window. Nothing salvageable?

    The types of files that you can find in your sessionstore files include:

    • sessionstore.js: windows and tabs in your Firefox session currently live (or, if Firefox is closed, your last session)
    • sessionstore.bak: the windows and tabs in your last session in Firefox
    • sessionstore.bak -datetime: windows and tabs in Firefox that was alive at the time of your last update session
    • sessionstore - 1.js (or other numbered files): windows and tabs when Firefox was unable to update the sessionstore.js file registered

    Can take you a look at what you have and the date / time of the different files to see if you think that one of them would be the windows and tabs missing?

  • Keep my pinned tabs disappear when I close and restart Firefox, this isn't after a crash. How can I stop this?

    Keep no apparent reason of my pinned tabs disappear from Firefox. This has happened three times now. I have not synchronized to any device. I keep my story and not erase it.

    Hello Silvia,.
    Sorry, you have problems.

    The system to store this information seems to be a bit fragile.

    When trying this please ensure you favorite whatever it is open and close the unnecessary tabs and don't let any ongoing work, initially you can lose more than just pins tabs. Once things go wrong, that several sessionstore files can be created, clear duplicate follow these instructions:

    1. See this for instructions on the profile search. Use the troubleshooting information, while Firefox is open profiles - where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data#w_how-do-i-find-my-profile
    2. Make sure that everything is backed up or bookmark and close Firefox
    3. Remove all duplicate sessionstore.js files found in the profile. Those with a number or.bak
      As mentioned in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_hangs#Multiple_sessionstore.js_files
    4. Restart Firefox, you may have lost some information i.e. pins or other tabs
    5. In the future when shutting down Firefox always use the menu option, which is from the Firefox button on a Windows machine. Do not kill the process, or close the window of final Firefox using the Windows icon at the top right.
  • How to resize pin tabs / deal with problems of Group tab in Firefox 22?

    With the automatic update of Firefox 22, my pinned tabs have swelled in size; not only this horrible aspect, but it reduces the real estate available for the other tabs. While NoSquint has solved the problem with websites randomly resizing themselves, everything else (menu add-on, toolbar icons) has also increased in size, which affects what can be displayed.

    Another problem with 22, this is my tab groups are there is more normally: I click a group and another group moves around the screen, usually jump behind the original group I clicked on. Suggestions to improve these problems are very popular.

    Hello, firefox 22 is now about the density of pixels you have upgraded to system in Control Panel > appearance > display. more information on this topic is available at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/make-the-text-on-your-screen-larger-or-smaller

    If you want to set the text size/pixel density in firefox is different that your system settings as it has been addressed in previous versions, enter about: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named layout.css.devPixelsPerPx. Double-click it and change its value to 1.0 (or any zoom factor that fits your purpose; 0.8 is equal to 80%, 1.15 is 115% and so on...,-1.0 is the default and will comply with the configuration of the system).

  • JumpList to the taskbar is missing in the tabs recently pinned tabs, new tab options etc. How can I restore them?

    Install firefox on a new computer to find all the shortcuts jumplist disappeared except "Mozilla Firefox", "Delete" and "close". New tab, new window, recent and pinned tabs options are all absent. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, as well by changing the browser.taskbar.lists.tasks.enabled in all: config from true to false and back again, but nothing seems to work.

    22 Firefox beta 4A was the fix. I have not tried myself.

    If you want to try an emergency, you can install the beta from here: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/beta/

    Otherwise, it will be officially released in a few weeks.

  • When you open Firefox, how can I do anything about most already pinned tabs open?

    I have a few pinned tabs that satisfies me, but I don't want a homepage or any other form of additional tab to open every time I start Firefox. I just want the pinned tabs and nothing else. I keep having to close the tab that appears when you start.

    It is not possible. Firefox always opens at least a normal tab, but must select a pinned tab if you close Firefox with the selected one.

  • How can I disable the ability to pin tabs in FF13?

    I am looking for a way to disable the pinned tabs app - the ability to create and maintain those which already exist; preferably both. Is there a preference hidden (or normally disabled) in the config page which could be fixed? Destroy the existing profiles and repeating periodically are an option, but a distant second choice to stay with FF12.

    You can probably use the Menu Editor extension to remove the PIN as App tab in the context menu of the tab bar.

    You can also add code to the file userChrome.css below @namespace by default to hide items from the popup menu.

    Customization files (interface) userChrome.css and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #context_pinTab, #context_unpinTab { display:none!important; }
  • I pinned tabs but they don't open when I open a new window? Permenantly pinned tabs that open when you open the browser is something that is so simple and usefu

    It should not necessarily be a "pin", but I wonder how to keep one eye permanently there everytime I open a new browser, as they appear.

    Pinned tabs are related to a specific window and you can have a different game in each window.
    You have to re-create the tabs pinned, if you want in a new window, possibly by the bookmarks in a folder (to bookmark all tabs) or set them as many home pages (a new window opens with the home pages).
    Maybe there is an extension that allows to open newly opened tabs pinned in windows, so you can search the Addons site.

  • Invisible pinned tab takes place

    I encountered a bug in the new Firefox. I've pinned a tab, then by chance, I moved the tam in a new window (via context menu). New window opens with the tab this marking, but... it seems that the pinned tab went invisible, there's just an empty space that I can't do anything about. I can't click on it (in other words, it behaves like the rest of the free space on the tab bar) and he stays there after restart of Firefox (even if Firefox should start with a blank page only, this is what is was set to do).

    Screenshot: http://abload.de/img/beztytuur5o1g.png - you can clearly see that there is an empty space. It is exactly as wide as a pinned tab. It appears in all open Firefox Windows.

    Any ideas how to get rid of? It is not a problem, but a bit annoying all the same.

    PS. I won't reset the Firefox settings, too many problems with all that upward adjustment.

    I hope that we will not have to reset Firefox. It's a pain for all those who have a ton of extensions and have it configured as you wish. Personally, I use Sync 'save' my stuff. Given that I'm always changing computers, I can sync all my stuff in my new Firefox. Works like a charm!
    Normally, Sync is not used to back up data, but I still use it.

    You have a lot of extensions so that one of them could be the problem

    You can try to start Firefox in Mode safe to see if Firefox works correctly without error? You can start Firefox in Mode safe below:

    • Windows/Mac: choose Help > restart with disabled modules
    • Linux: run firefox-safe-mode in the Terminal/Konsole

    If Firefox opens fine with no problems, it is probably one of your extensions that is causing the problem. You can reactivate your modules one by one until you find the one that is causing the problem to be re-activated.
