  Hello, I try to find a way to reset our Dell 3130cn to factory default.  Raison d'etre, one of our directors have been through the Dell Printer Configuration Web Tool and set the admin password.  Now, he does not remember what it is.  I went through the menus directly on the printer and couldn't find an option to reset the printer.  I guess it's the only way that we will be able to get past that it's resetting everything back to the default value.  We have also a few 5110 s Dell who may have the same problem.  If you have the solution to (or for the two models preferred), please help.

  Please, try the following steps to reset the password locking Panel on the Dell 3130cn Color Laser printer and Dell 5110cn Color Laser printer:

  Reset the locking of the default Panel password:

  If you have forgotten the password locking Panel, this process retrieves the factory default Panel Lock password 0000.

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. While now the Menu, turn on the printer.
  3. Continue to hold the Menu until the display shows ready to Init.
  4. Release the Menu and then press the Select button.
  5. Press the left arrow key to select Yes, then press the " Select " button.

  Clear the NVRAM

  Wired: to restore the default settings for a wired network, take the following steps:

  • Press the Menu key.
  • Press the down arrow button until Admin Menu appears, then press the " Select " button or the right arrow key .

  To restore the default settings of a wireless network, perform the following actions:

  • Press the Menu key.
  • Press the down arrow button until Admin Menu appears, then press the " Select " button or the right arrow key .
  • Press the down arrow until it appears the Net wireless. Press the arrow to the right or the " Select " button.
  • Press the down arrow button until Reset wireless appears, and press the " Select " button or the right arrow key .
  • The are you sure? message appears on the Control Panel, press the Select button.
  • Momentarily, the display shows followed by Initialized to printer restart to apply setting then returns on the Net and wireless Reset wireless.
  • Turn the printer off and wait a few moments and then turn on the printer.
