• Free version of ESXi can support for configuration of start and stop virtual machines via vSphere Client?

  I have read and found some documents on ESXi.

  According to the documents, I know that ESXi free version does not support some advanced virtual machine configurations and does not support write to ESXi host permission. But when I download ESXi from vmware.com, I can't find the free version. He will always be a trial of the licensed version edition because I can always do the configuration of start and stop virtual machines via vSphere Client installation. I can also run scripts (lamw) pl in vMA to stop the ESXi host (authorization to write ok?)

  Then I confused. How can I get the really free version of ESXi? Or will the free version after 60 days of evaluation?

  Start/stop above configuration is in vSphere Client via 'Configuration'-> "start/stop VM"-> "Properties"... «-> "Allow the virtual computers start and stop automatically with the system" actions setting and stop virtual machines can be configured to "comments"turn off computer"or"Suspend".» Can any body tell me if it's supported by ESXi free edition?

  Is the free version of vSphere Client too? Because when I use the vSphere Client, he told me that I have 60 days of evaluation. This confused me again. I think that vSphere Client is always free, am I right?

  Configuration of start and stop virtual machines is available with the free version and licensed, with the free version you would be configured everything via vSphere Client, where as with a licensed version, you can optionally use scripts to configure it and also issue restarts/stops using scripts.

  Second, shutdownHostViaSOAPAPICall.pl for the version licensed and free of ESX (i), this script will work in both free and licensed because it uses direct SOAP calls emulating the vSphere Client communication. Take a look at the documentation for details, but this of course is not supported by VMware.

• How to make a virtual machine using the full screen?

  I have a 19 '' screen.  In the web page of vm manager when I click on 'console' to get a separate window and maximize that I get a full screen, but the virtual machine does not fill my monitor as the native operating system.

  I am losing valuable real estate.

  Is there a way to fill the screen as the native operating system?  I tried to play with just about anything.  The virtual machine is in a small box, is full from top to bottom but a few inches on each side is black.

  Hello. I recently completed an upgrade to vCenter 5.0 > 5.1. I came across some problems common to the teeth with SSO, but things look ok at the moment. I have a problem I would really in trouble - when you try to sort virtual machines in the vSphere client, I see the following error message:

  My apologies for not updating this post - I completely forgot

  I ended up spending a call with VMware and the resolution in my case was to add my user account in domain directly to the vCenter administrator group - before I had been a member of a group of ESX-Admins who was a member of the Administrators group. I hope this helps...

  We need multiple/simultaneous access to vm hosts who are resident on the EXSi5.1.

  are aware of our solution, the company PC (multi place) access to vCenterServer via a WIFI/vSphereClient network. and all pepole dedicated the user account for access vCenterServer/VM hosts.

  but when some of the pepole tries to access VM-Host1, they use different account, they will share the sesstion. first open console will also open later attempt to access...

  I checked the CONFIGURATION of terminal SERVER and configured to request user by initial information to connect and will be overwrrite user setting of... but seems it has no effect.

• Need help to report on the configurations of the virtual machine using PowerCLI

  Hi guys,.

  I try to shoot down vCenter virtual computer configuration details and am not having much luck with vCPU multicore machines.

  Looking at the lists of VMS in vSphere Client, it offers a column "Number of CPU" basis and does not include any other granularity (i.e. in terms of casings & carrots as opposed to simply 'CPU Count').

  I thought that maybe I have better luck using PowerCLI and essentially, the cmdlet "Get - VM" has the kind of information I'm looking for, but I find that it lacks a bit when it comes to vCPU details.  Essentially, it turns out that does not do much better than the list of virtual machines in vSphere Client because it produces only a "CPU Num" value, which is not particularly useful.

  For example, if "processors Num" 4, that '4' means?  This could mean one of the following:

  • 1 x 4 drivers
    
  • Core 2 x 2
    
  • Basic 4 x 1
    

  I hope someone out there can help produce me a list of virtual machines with details of configuration that includes both sockets & carrots for vCPU?

  VCLI orders are mainly used for configurations of the host, although as part of the installation of vCLI, you get also vSphere SDK for utilities Perl - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/viperltoolkit/viperl41/doc/vsperl_util_index.html that provide additional canned scripts, which allows you to create a single set of virtual machines using the vmcreate.pl script.   Are you referring to the evolution of the virtual machines network portgroup of one to the other and in your case potentially issue on to another vSwitch? If so, take a look at this script: updateVMPortgroup.pl everything you do really makes a call to ReconfigVM_Task() and passing in a specification change and put to day the network in which you want to change
