Hey NicholeLewis

every computer manufacturer has their own way to start the recovery process to put it on the back to factory standards

It can be F8 and select repair your computer or F10 or F11 at startup to start the process

0 or Alt + F10

you will need to ask the manufacturer for the correct key sequence

also you can ask them to send you recovery discs to back to factory standards

load it normally a nominal cost for this

  • How to restore a virtual computer to another computer using Backup Exec virtual

    Hi all

I tested VMware 3.5.  We have little budget, so we intend to convert 5-10 dev servers into virtual machine running on an existing ML570 HP.  I created a test VM; I could back up and restore the entire virtual machine using Backup Exec to a physical server without problem.  However I can not restore a virtual machine to a different VM.  Let's say I dv01; I backed up using Backup Exec dv01 on the physical server.  Pretending the host has no I have rebuilt a new host, created a new virtual machine with the same name dv01 and same features.  I restored dv01 from the backup.  The restoration is properly; However, he got a blue screen when I rebooted the virtual computer.  The blue screen went so big that I don't remember what it was, but it's the kind of a dll error.

We want to keep the budget as small as possible using our existing Backup Exec agents, but it doesn't seem to work here.  Is Backup Exec for VMware agent a MUST?  Catering to the same VM is good, but restore to a different VM is not so simple.

  • Space minimum drive - how to restore computer to factory settings

I have a toshiba Satellite Pro A200 on Vista. Vista came preloaded and I not all disks for it. I got it from the new (Sept 2007). The hard disk is divided into units. Recently my C drive has filled competely and I now no space left (went 55gigs) I store some data in this drive. All my multimedia elements (music, photos, and other files) is in my E drive. I have to run C Cleaner whenever I start in order to have enough space for the operation of the computer. I also remove all but the last restore point in order to function.

I am at my wits end and think I must have a virus or something. Is there a way to restore the computer to the 'new '? I have all my files backed up on an external hard drive, so I don't mind from scratch. Not keeping in mind I have no install discs as Vista came preloaded.

Can anyone help? Please, I beg you!

Most laptops and many OEM desktop computers (HP, Sony, etc.) come with a picture of factory restore on a special partition on the hard drive. The factory restore process is normally called by pressing a key of function (such as F11) to start the computer. There will be a message as to what function key press the screen when you start your computer. You can also consult the manual of your computer or the computer mftr.'s site, or contact technical support to learn how to restore your computer if you plant from each computer mftr. He does it differently - sometimes even between models.

These machines also generally have a utility to create physical recovery disks in case the hard drive needs to be replaced or the factory restore image is somewhat damaged. If you have not created the recovery image recovery physical and/or damaged disks, contact technical support of computer mftr. to order a set of recovery disks. It is normally very expensive, around $20-25. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • How to restore partition factory settings after installing Win 7 Professional and after having lost everything as a result.

I have a netbook with a partition that has win7 starter installed.  I unfortunately poorly installed windows 7 Professional and now have nothing available which was originally on the computer.  Everything was wiped clean including my ability to use / access my wireless, ethernet controller, pci, etc..  I tried repeatedly to recover the partition back to factory settings, but it won't give me the option to select the partition.  I guess that's because they are all two Windows 7.  Can you help me get it back to windows 7 edition starter of the partition so I can restore all the factory settings and programs.  I haven't lost any information or files that I loaded win7professtional as soon as I turned it on.  I have restore points, images, etc.

When I installed Win 7 Professional, not old Info windows.old file but I don't know how to access that is.

    Help, please?  Thank you

The Windows.old folder has two objectives:
    (1) can be used to uninstall Windows 7 and return your PC to the previous version of Windows.
    (2) contains a backup of all your files of data, documents, photos, Etc. from the previous version of Windows.

If you don't need either of these two options can delete the Windows.old folder. In your case if you can access the "recovery Partition" to restore the windows and then back the Windows.old folder before you begin.

Note: Option to change Windows Explorer to see the Windows.old folder:
Click on start and enter in the box "Search": "hidden" (without the quotes)
Click on the "Show the hidden files and folders" option at the top of the list.
    In the "Folder Options" window
Click the 'view' if it is not already selected.
In the list "Advanced settings" locate "hidden files and folders".
Now click 'show files and folders '.
    Then, disable the following:
"Hide empty drives in the computer folder.
"Hide the extensions of the file types that you want to know."
    "Hide protected operating system files"

Click on the "Apply" button and the OK"" button.

  • Satellite L500 - how to restore the menu "repair your computer"?

    Hello world

I have a laptop Toshiba L500, Yestaday I tried to restore the system to the factory settings (by pressing F8 at startup high and choose "repair your computer"). In the system has been installed almost, but at a stage of installation drivers to read memory cards and similar - there was a failure (the blue screen and need down) - after that - Windows 7 is not loaded. parsing errors (by means using a floppy disk to another Windows 7 install) says that the registry is damaged, cannot repair.

but the main problem - when you press F8 at startup upward - there is no MORE menu 'Repair your computer' (!) . It is impossible to start Windows 7 predefined. So there's the hidden sector containing Windows predefined (I saw when loading a disc of hatch - Total order could start - and hidden sector was visible). All files in drive recovery HARD necessary are also available.

How to restore the menu "repair your computer"? or how it is possible to start Windows predefined without pressing F8?

    > Hidden article exists, I saw it, there are all the files recovery HARD drive (which was in the laptop after buying), but I can't begin to recover Windows because I don't have menu not 'repair your computer' to start the laptop. He disappeared...
Of course, the flag in the Advanced Start menu seems to be deleted and therefore drive recovery HARD option isn't available anymore.
    Probably the partition has changed.

But in case of HARD drive recovery files are still available on the recovery partition, you can try to create the USB support of own recovery using of workaround:

If you do any type of backup - only circuit, dat, or all - on a second internal bank or a second partition, you are just kidding yourself. It is the lowest form of backup doesn't exist, and is barely better than no backup at all. He let losses likely to be simultaneous to the original and backup for many common dangers: serious power, near the lightning seeds, failures of hard disk (if it's a second partition), virus attacks, even the theft of the laptop.

In my view, secure backup must be on a media removable and not stored in the computer. For backup really secure (necessary, for example, if your company depends on your data), you should have several generations of backup, and at least one of these generations should be stored off-site.

You can read this article on the backup that I wrote: 'Return to top your computer regularly and reliable' to http://www.computorcompanion.com/LPMArticle.asp?ID=314
