How to return to a CSS - Styles.css file two next to Source Code

Then I made the mistake of editing of this line of code (because when you look at in the browser - it was just HTML with no CSS):

< link href = "file:///Macintosh HD/Users/erikj7/Documents/Adobe/Dreamweaver/Projects/Styles.css" rel = "stylesheet" type = "text/css" > ""

When checking this via html code checker.  He said there is a mistake and this line should not be a space, so I did this:

< link href = "file:///Macintosh HD/Users/erikj7/Documents/Adobe/Dreamweaver/Projects/Styles.css"rel="stylesheet"type="tex t/css" >

Just remove the spaces between the .css and 'rel AND style sheet' and type =

As you may know - it worked at all, so I changed it back.  This posed a new problem showing only HTML, so I corrected this line of code back to its original form.

The problem going forward is that Dreamweaver displays two Styles.css next to the Source Code in my tab named index.html (not sure what this window of Dreamweaver is called).  The Styles.css which is closer to my Source Code is empty but I think direct CSS still work.  Next to the Styles.css, I have the other Styles.css, and that one is full of code that extracts of my project of.  This Styles.css works and allows me to modify the existing CSS, however I can't not (in Source Code) insert a new image and then apply CSS, because when I go to the CCS designer and add a selector, he wants to put in the empty CSS file.

How to get back there showing a CSS next to the Source Code? AND maybe if allowed within this same thread, could someone explain why the CSS works fine in the browser of Dreamweaver, but not when I go to preview in the browser (like Safari or Chrome)?

I could go back in Time Machine on my MAC and enter the old file, but I would really like to know how to fix the mistake that I did, because it's possible I could repeat this error, and it would be good to know why, he does not appear CSS at the preview and Safari and Chrome.

Thank you very much for reading and possibly help.

Work within a defined local site folder?

It's a critical step 1 before beginning any new project.

Once your site is set correctly, you can see your site files in the files (F8) Panel.

Open your HTML document.  Select design mode in the selection list.

Switch to Code view.

Remove the old links of stylesheet from your code.

In the files Panel, click, drag & drop your CSS file in the HTML code.  Place it just above the closing tag.  See screenshot.

  • How to fix: Page Template styles do not respond to changes in CSS files in the text editor of 'Developing' Admin Console

    I bought a model site.  It has a css file, /styles/screen.css

    It also has a template page 'home' with the link to the style sheet within the < head > section:

    "< link href="/styles/screen.css "rel ="stylesheet"type =" text/css"media ="screen"> < / link >

    I am tempted to change screen.css, by editing the file in the 'Develop' administration Console and pressing the 'Save' button on the file when changes are made.

    However, the changes do not appear in the preview of the Page template.

    However, if I do a < style > section in the head <>of the page template and put the change, it displays correctly.

    It's like the Page template does not recognize changes to the screen.css.

    I press "Save draft" and "Update" before you press 'Preview' to check for changes.

    My question is how to fix the Page Template styles that do not respond to changes in CSS files in the text editor of 'Developing' administration Console.

    I am a new user of BC and I agree it is likely a result of not knowing how the css BC.

    Thanks in advance for any assistance with my issue!

    Hello

    I think that you too complicate the thinking problem that BC is a non-standard way of processing applications to a css file. This looks more like a cache or perhaps a code problem. However, I would be happy to take a look at your code and see if I can remember where is the problem. Try Skype me and screen-sharing and I'll see what I can do. It is probably fixed quickly :-) My ID:s 'noviumdesign '.

  • How to insert an embedded CSS to HTML style of a Wufoo form?

    I have incorporated in the form of HTML code a Wufoo form but none of the CSS style followed. Does anyone know how to link the stylesheet? I tried to download directly via the hosting server, but nothing has changed. Am I missing a step?

    Thanks a bunch for your thoughts!

    No experience with them, but I guess that they hold all the good things on their server, as for obvious reasons, they want to use their services. They mention download options for their CSS files, though, so maybe you missed this option or by chance (bad) she chose a model that does not allow this.

  • How can I move an external style sheet to a CSS folder in my site?

    I use Dreamweaver CS5. I created an external style sheet and not record in my CSS file. I am unable to complete the seemingly simple task of putting this external stylesheet in this folder without turning off on my page. Can someone tell me how to proceed?

    Thank you

    Open your external CSS file in DW.

    Go to file > save as.  Save it in your CSS file.

    DW will ask you if you want to update the links.  Press Yes.

  • How can I fix my CSS styles by connecting and working directly on my copied files of HTML and CSS?

    How can I associate my CSS styles properly in my HTML file? (It is a single page with a spry menu drop down, which somehow does not appear when I hover over the buttons). I use a file copied from the original because it was initially saved on my computer at school so I had to rebuild everything.

    When I click to see the CSS styles, he said: "sprymenubar.js' put not on the local disk.

    When I click on 'get', it is said that the spry isn't in a defined site. It says this for all my CSS styles.

    Never mind. :) I was looking through another copy of the file, I did and it works fine there.

    Sorry for taking your time and thank you,.

  • How to dynamically change the graphic style css?

    What is the right method to dynamically replace the graphic style of JavaFx 2.2 in the code? I modified the example in the tutorial below with or without loading the css file. So far, I am unable to replace the style from the code. My goal is to dynamically set the width of each line. We use Java with Eclipse on Windows 7 (64-bit) 7_51. The CSS generated in the code below works when it is in the file. There must be a better way than to write a new file and read it, right?

          String title = "Chart Title";
          stage.setTitle("Stage Title");
          final LogAxis xAxis = new NumberAxis();
          final NumberAxis yAxis = new NumberAxis();
          final LineChart<Number, Number> chart = new LineChart<>(xAxis, yAxis);
          chart.setTitle(title);
          chart.setLegendVisible(false);
          chart.setCreateSymbols(false);
          xAxis.setLabel("x-axis");
          yAxis.setLabel("y-axis");

          // each bar is a line from x,0 to x,y
          int width = 24; // pixels
          for (int i = 0; i < ydata.length; i++)
          {
             String css = "";
             // TODO: dynamically calculate unique width for each "bar"
             final XYChart.Series data = new XYChart.Series();
             data.setName("Series" + (i + 1));
             data.getData().add(new XYChart.Data(xdata[i], 0.0f));
             data.getData().add(new XYChart.Data(xdata[i], ydata[i]));
             chart.getData().add(data);
             // Dynamically set style instead of reading from file
             // Assign each "bar" data series a color and line width
             css += ".chart-series-line{ -fx-stroke: red; -fx-stroke-width: ";
             css += width;
             css += "px; }\n";
             data.getNode().setStyle(css);
             System.out.println("node style: " + data.getNode().getStyle());
             System.out.println("node style class: " + data.getNode().getStyleClass());
             width *= 3; // TODO: replace this with dynamic calculation of width
          } // end for

          final Scene scene = new Scene(chart, 800, 600);
          scene.getStylesheets().add("Chart.css");
          System.out.println("Scene stylesheet: " + scene.getStylesheets());
          System.out.println("chart style: " + chart.getStyle());
          System.out.println("chart style class: " + chart.getStyleClass());
          System.out.println("chart style sheet: " + chart.getStylesheets());
          stage.setScene(scene);
          stage.show();

    The Node #setStyle (String) method only supports the statements, not the rule full css. The setStyle call with '.chart-series-line {-fx-stroke...} '. "should give an error in the parser. Something like "whereas IDENT.

    You might find the line you want in the series. If series.getNode () is a form (as it will be for a line chart), you can just get the node in a form and call the setStrokeWidth() directly.

  • How to change the Spry CSS tab

    I like to use these old screens provided with the former DW Spry tab.  I just looked in DW CC and it looks like they aren't there and more.  But anyway, I made one for my client.  Now, they want to get one of the tabs on the far right of the margin.  See the image below:

    tabs.jpg

    I don't know yet if it's possible to do and if someone has done this before, can you tell me what code I need to change in the CSS?  I would have joined the CSS file, but it seems that you cannot attach files in this forum, so I've copied below.

    Please offer any means to change the color of the tabs, etc. - I just need to know how - or at all - this tab can be moved to the right.

    Thanks, Guy deaf

    PS I'm sorry that the CSS code does not correctly appear in this forum.  When I type this message, looks like it will display line-by-line, but it's not.  I'm sorry.

  • When I try to join my stylesheet css Dreamweaver gives me an error saying that my .css file seems to be a .html file and will not work. How can I fix this so I can join my stylesheet?

    I built a css style sheet in Dreamweaver. When I try to attach it to my website html, it prompt me that my 'css file seems to be a .html file and can not attach. I tried to remove the / * / as suggested by other forums, but this has not solved the problem. I was using stylesheets css without problem 2 days ago. Now, I get this error message. How can I fix this so I can join my stylesheet?

    What looks like the code in the CSS file?

    An external CSS file must be written in CSS only (no html tag like,,etc.).

    It must also have a .css file extension, if yours has an extension .html, that it will not work.

  • How add/create a new CSS in project

    During the ages scouring the user guide/help/in line and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add or create a CSS file in a project. I have an external CSS with all my styles in there and I want to use instead of the default CSS. IF this is possible, or do I have to use the built-in Editor

    Thank you

    brand

    Just drag the CSS in the folder root of your project by using Windows Explorer, then you can add it through properties of the section. Use the list of topics to add to various topics by right-clicking and selecting properties there.
