How to run programs as administrator?

Original title: administrator

Help, please! I am running on a windows 8. I am somehow locked to be an administrator. Whenever I try to download or do something that requires permissions, he says that I am not the administrator. I tried to change in my control panel, but I was told that I could not because of me is not not the administrator. I tried to do it through safe mode and still couldn't do it. What should I do? I have to reset my computer? Try to make a line to the top of my files and I can't do it because I'm not the darn administrator. Grrr! And to top it off my internal cd/dvd drive does not work or my external terabyte. Double Grr!

If there is no administrator account on the system, you can start safe mode to access the built-in Administrator account.  Since this fail-safe account, you can force - reset your account password.

  1. Press + I to display the menu of charm.
  2. Click the Power Options icon, and then hold down the SHIFT key while you click the Restart option. Keep now shift until the screen shows it restarts.
  3. On the first screen that appears, select troubleshooting, and then select Advanced Options. Finally, choose the boot settings and click Restart.
  4. On the next screen, press the number 4 to choose Safe Mode.

Now that you are in safe mode, you can use the backup Administrator account built for perform you a necessary recovery. Built in Administrator account should not be used for any other purpose, or it is not available in such situations when you need it.

  1. On the login screen, click on the arrow icon, and then select the administrator account.
  2. After the Safe Mode boot, press on + W and open the control panel / user accounts.
  3. Select manage another account, and then select the account you want to switch to an administrator account. You can also use the option change password here to reset the password of the other account.

When finished, restart the computer normally.

    Matt,

Since you don't have a Vista Home Premium, I found another article that describes a way to get around it to make a registry change.

    The following Web site:
    http://www.eCoustics.com/PCW/HOWTO/140134

Vista Home Premium is not the Group Policy Editor. To make the changes in this version, you must change the registry. Before making any changes to the registry, back it up following the instructions in "block Cookies for spying, but keep the most useful" (scroll down to the area of blue text at the bottom of the page).

With your backup of the registry in place, click Start, type regedit and press ENTER. In the tree on the left pane, navigate to Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. With the icon system selected in the left pane, double-click on ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin in the right pane. Change the data value to 0, then click on OK. You should see the effect immediately (no restart required).

Not sure if this will help, but thought that I have it send your way.

  • Program running as local administrator in Windows XP needs to access a network drive

I just write a batch file to automatically run a program in Windows XP as a local administrator.  I had to do to get the program to work right.  However, the program cannot access network drives to save the files even if the user who is connected has access to these network resources.  How can I give an a running program as a Windows XP local administrator the possibility to access and back up the files on a network share?

I found a solution for this.  I had to add the same user a local administrator on the server with network drives.  This solves the problem.

    Hello

    a. how long have you been faced with this problem?
    b. any recent hardware/software changes made on your computer?
    c. you are trying to install applications/programs from your administrator account?

Right-click on the configuration file and select run as administrator (you can also use the same step to run also installed programs). Now, check if that helps.

You can also try to enable disable User Account Control (UAC) and check if that helps. After return to status.

    Note: Enable UAC after verification.

User Account Control (UAC) can help prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. UAC notifies you when changes will be made to your computer that require administrator-level permissions. These types of changes can affect the security of your computer or can affect settings for other people who use the computer. We recommend that you leave UAC to help your computer course.

    Hi!, Ahkran:

Happy new year and welcome to the Forum!

    (1) you need to download the library library 764, BESSEL V1.2, HP50G, in the HOME directory.

Now, you need to install and stay permanently in memory, in any port (0, 1 or 2). Best if the option port 2 (Flash)...

Now, reset the HP50G, with YOU and key F3 (C)...

Find the library in Port 2, with orange right shift key and key LIB (2), with name BESSE. If necessary, use the NXT (L) key...

Now press the function key (F1... F6), just below the word BESSE, in your HP50G.

    You have to see...

    and with NXT - key...

Carefully read the instructions for use library 764, the .pdf file, the author.

    Hello

Windows Vista does not include a 16-bit subsystem. So, you will not be able to run 16-bit applications on Windows Vista directly. However, you can install Virtual PC on your
Vista computer and then you can install Windows XP on your virtual PC to run 16-bit applications.

  • cmd.exe is still running as an administrator, how do I stop?

I have a few machines here where cmd.exe (command prompt) is still running as administrator and some machines, it does not work.

Now, I know that it is the opposite of what everybody is asking. But how can I do to cmd.exe does NOT always work as an administrator.

I checked all the usual places, properties, shortcuts, none of them had the "Run as Administrator" check box selected.

I found a registry hack here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-security/always-run-cmdexe-as-administrator-the-journey/eff735b4-9c65-444f-a943-e1707f74cd14 (#13 answer) but I checked the registry database and it is not set.

Is there another registery hack that someone used here?

There must be some "secrete location" that is defined, I guess a registry hack has been implemented.

You get this screen when UAC is set to its lowest level.

  • How to run a 32-bit program written in foxpro for windows (fpw26) under a window of 64 bit 7 or 8

    Original title: compatibility issue

How to run a 32-bit program written in foxpro for windows (fpw26) under a window of 64 bit 7 or 8

    Thanks in advance

32-bit programs work fine on 64 bit versions of Windows.  In fact, over 95% of the software that comes with the 64-bit Windows version is 32-bit, because there is no reason for re - programming software for upper bits when it would not net any performance gain.  Even Microsoft Office is 32-bit on a 64-bit computer.

So to use a 32-bit program, just run it normally.  If there are failures, let us know what said failure.

PS. the program may have other failures that are unrelated to the number of bits of the processor.  Try right click on the program and choose to resolve compatibility issues to try to fix it automatically.
