  I downloaded a trial version of vmware workstation 7.1.2 to check, if I could use it to keep a proven windows 2000 on a windows host environment 7.

  How can I use VMWare Workstation on a host of Windows 7 with an non-administratif account?

  Better would be, how can I use VMWare Workstation as a standard user AND you have UAC on a recommended security level?

  Is disabling the functions of central security in fact the adivce official to run VmWare on a host of Windows 7?

  I know, Windows 7 is quite new and a lot of software has not properly adapted to him so far, but in the meantime, it is still not easy to find an older host OS to be able to correctly use VMWare (on Windows 2000 as a host, it worked great and I do not want to give it up so easy)

  I used Vmware Workstation 7.x for Windows 7 without problems so far. I installed the package as an administrator, of course, but then used the user to create and manage virtual machines. I have UAC in default mode and does not get a prompt either do anything.

  The option "Run as Administrator" is just to load an application with administrator credentials already loading in the token to access at the outset and you will get a prompt later, but there should be no difference here.

  I installed VMware Workstation 7 (latest version) and created a virtual machine. The problem is that once I have disconnected the host, the virtual machine stops!

  Is there a setting to prevent this? It should be able to run VMWare Workstation as a service.

  Running a process that wasn't supposed to be run as a service was taken over ad nauseam on Internet Google is your friend.

  Although it is possible to start the process as a service, however unless you use a program that can well handle the cessation of treatment and or restart the messages from the host and transmit them to the virtual machine, then it does not really work as a true service since it will not be the appropriate communication channels to activate the Virtual Machine to make a correct and controlled stop when the host is restarted or shutdown and that can damage the Virtual Machine.  If you plan to run a VM as a Service under VMware Workstation then I offer so you have good backups (which we should have anyway) and make sure you have access to working distance before running it as a service you can do a controlled stop on the VM before the reboot or shutdown of the host if you have not a utility appropriate to deal with it properly and safely.

  Another option is to use VMware Server, but keep in mind it seems to be the end of life and not maintained more.

  It is possible, but not supported.  See nested running VMs.

  So, I removed the merger application and downloaded again. When I installed it, I got the same message. Well, I thought that this must be one of these 'hidden' files, see you must be corrupt, so I used App Zapper to get rid of the merger and all files related; emptied the Recycle Bin, so merger was gone, gone, gone. Uploaded a new image, the same thing!  No matter what I do, I can't use Fusion. Suggestions?

  Do not use Zapper App - merger, running specific uninstall scripts.

  I've seen that occur when get-Gatekeeper confused about how something has been installed, when permissions are confused, or when a hard drive is running out.  If you have VMWare Fusion and have installed and it run under an administrator account (default in OS x unless you change it), then first use disk utility to first 'check disk' (if you want something better, look for smart voltains software utility), then repair permissions.  If this does not work, try to right click on the merger in the applications folder, and choose open.

  I'm trying to understand how to configure a dedicated server of Dell R210 rented running VMware ESXi 5.1.0 build-799733

  This dedicated server is rented www.online.net and sits somewhere in France. One of its network adapters have an IP public 62.210.177.20x. The other NIC is here, but I do not understand how it is configured. According to the www.online.net portal, the other NETWORK card has or should have an IP 10.90.116.20x. And I am obviously set up is to have some virtual machines running and be able to access the Internet. I have access to the console of the server Dell through iDRAC and since I could see, one of the network adapters in the IP is 62.210.177.20x defined, and the other has been shown out of service. I managed to make it appear the other interface but I cannot find anywhere how to assign the IP address 10.90.116.20x to this 2^nd network adapter. But then again I don't even know if I should or if I need to assing a IP address to this 2^nd network adapter. What is the cable connected even for this 2^nd NIC? I do not know. Should it be - I'm not either. I don't know French and manuals/instructions on www.online.net are in French. I can try an online translator, but I don't think that what I'm looking for is explained. How do I get this set up? I have to do something about the ESXi on the server console? This interface 2^nd should be in place, or it must be down as if it was originally? Yesterday after watching someone videos on YouTube, I added the second virtual switch and moved the virtual hosts of this switch 2 and he entrusted the 2^nd NIC. But that 2^nd NIC had a red X next to it probably indicating that it was disconnected the 2^nd form virtual switch.   If I understand the above, I need to show some VM and set up as a router? If the virtual machine that will act as a router must have two network interfaces, where it is connected to a switch and the other to the other switch network card. Am I do? The YouTube video that suggested, but I thought that maybe / somehow ESXi can route packets between the two network cards, but from what I read, ESXi can route packets. Do I need to order an additional / extra / 2nd IPv4 address so that it can be assigned to the interface of the router?

  We run a store where we support some linux boxes.  We had some problems with time drift and other things and on our vmware guy suggested put us the version of VMWare tools on the guest or virtual Center.  The only problem is that I can't find a procedure for this.

  To clarify, I'm not how to install VMWare tools on virtual machines.  We know how to do and we know to recompile after we patch the kernel.  But our guys VMWare suggests that in the end we're just recompile the same old version of VMWare tools to make it work with the new kernel.

  In fact, we suspect the version we have is very old, that we have not successfully updated because we were running on 2.5 and are now running on 4.0 Update 1 (wait for the 4.1 support nexus is added).

  So I assume you mean updating the source VMware Tools, which is then used to update VMware tools in guests?

  The guy from VMware is true, recompile the tools is necessary after a kernel update has been done. It is not up-to-date version. However, you must do that to make them work again.

  The latest VMware tools comes with the latest product or updates/patches for this product. Information shows that the tools are not updated after you apply this hotfix or an update.

  I am new to Ubuntu and I can't understand how to install VMWare Tools - what I need to do this from a command line?  Any guidance would be appreciated.

  To manually install, choose computer virtual > install VMware Tools, a file must window popup with VMwareTools - 8.2.3 - 204229.tar.gz you can right click to expand only in / tmp.  Then in Applications > Accessories > Terminal, cd to/tmp/vmware-tools-distrib and run sudo./vmware-install.pl

  Python is available in the Terminal, which provides a unix command-line environment.

  Some python applications may need to be recompiled to run on Mac. You should maybe download and install Xcode Tools to get full access to all the compilers and related tools.

• Lean how to run the stop code when the highest level VI ends

  Hi people.

  I am a newbie of LV with 30 years of experience in embedded SW engineering.  I searched for how to run the stop code when a VI of highest level ends.  I found many examples, but they are horribly complicated.  A little birdie told me that such a model of simple design should not be so compilicated.

  My application is an application of high tension control to disable all HV checkpoints when the SW ends.  My VI code is running in a while loop with a stop button that leads out of the loop.  I can easily accomplish my requirement by programming with a sequence of plate that runs after the end of the main loop.  The technique of flat sequence does not work when the user clicks the Cancel button in the toolbar of façade, more than that market when the user clicks the close button of the application (X button) when you run the exe application.

  Can someone tell me please a simple technique, the code example that can show me a lean and elegant way to accomplish my task?  It doesn't have to be an obvious solution (for example a stop induced watchdog seems simple enough).
