How to save new changes on a snapshot

Hello

How to do is to save the changes made to a snapshot?

I created a snapshot.

Now, I made some changes.

I need to save the changes made to this snapshot, but I don't want to create an another instant coz I want to update my original photograph from time to time, we can do that?

I don't understand why you don't want to create another cliché.  When you say you want to "update your original cliché", do you mean to regularly add new changes based on prior changes or do you mean that you want to have independent sets of changes to the initial snapshot?

For the first case, simply create a new snapshot and then delete the old one.

For the latter case, you will need to create separate snapshots.

  • How to save constantly changes I make in LR3?

I'm new to this software. I have an existing collection of more 40 000 images. I am an amateur photographer, make images

my own amusement and I have also reviewed the document objects that are brought to me for restoration. These two functions are very important to me.

I used Picasa to manage my photos for several years. Although limited, it is very elegant and easy to use. It also does not change the original file until a request is made for a permanent change, how an original backup is performed. Once registered, the edict of picasa can be accessed by any other Viewer, software or browser that I know.

I love all the possible manipulation with LR3. I'm afraid that there seems to be no way to save an edited file so that it can be displayed using other software (not adobe). I want to be able to download pictures on my site and be able to share with my clients, friends, family etc.  I don't want to be locked up in Flickr. I am very worried that I could spend a lot of time to learn LR3 then huger same amount of time editing my pictures with her, only to find at some point on the road I will be locked in and unable to see my work using another software/Viewer/browser. That is what happens if I convert to a Mac and decide to use Aperture 3 instead? What happens if someone else comes up with software I prefer and if you want to change?  I'll always be bound upward with LR to see my published work? What happens if Adobe decides to no longer support LR3 and replaces it with a product that I find unacceptable, unaffordale or incomprehensible?  (the three scenarios have happened to me in the past).  I'll have to rework ancient pictures right now? I am very confused about it and would much rather drop the software now, before we get too deep. I absolutely won't be committed to having to use software of person forever.

I see the line "Web Photo Gallery created by Adobe Lightroom." and it terrifies me. Can I used a Pentax camera and Adobe software, but the images were created by me, and I want to keep full control over my work.

RAW files are larger by nature.  JPEG images are 8-bit images, raw images are 12-bit and some are even 14-bit images.  This means that they contain much more data.  When they are converted into Photoshop, you have the choice to go 8-bit or 16-bit.  If you choose the second option the resulting TIFF or PSD file will be far more important than any JPEG or raw image.  The JPEG size depends on a number of things such as the content of the image compression rate (quality) that is selected, the image size if the image is cropped, etc...  But whatever the parameters, the JPEG image will be substantially smaller because it's a very compressed file format.  Once you have exported this image from Lightroom, it contains all the adjustments you have made, and it is an autonomous 'standard' JPEG image that does not depend on Lightroom for what either.  Fact that software from the manufacturer of your it reduced even further just indicates that he more compressed or resized image or both to get the size of the file.  You must look at your options and make sure that you configure them so that they produce images that meet your expectations.

You say that you are concerned about the integrity of the exported file in case the original is lost.  The exported image has no dependence on the original.  They are completely separate.  The exported image will always be the quality she has now.  It will be the same quality on any computer or any photo processing.  The reason why I have keep the original images is in the case where a different version of the file I want or need it for different purposes.  For example, I exported the images 800 x 1 200 pixels for display on the Internet or sending e-mail to family or friends.  Then, let's say I decide I want a draw 20 x 30 inches of one of these images.  Of course, I will need a larger file with different characteristics to produce this impression.  I can go back to the original and that I need to export.  And, again, this file is completely independent of the original.  Then why are you paranoid?

  • How to save all changes to metadata to photo files

I created a catalog and began to enter key words and other data before learning about the option "Automatically write changes into XMP" in "Edit / catalog settings / Metadata.  Then I activated the option because I want all metadata to be stored with the image.  Now, I know that I can select individual photos or groups of photos and use "metadata / save metadata to file ' to update the photos with all the metadata, I entered before making the change to the option"Save to XMP".»  What I want to know is if there is a way to automatically update files without having to select them individually.  I could try to select all the images in my database of 50,000 + photo and perform an update, but it seems like such a waste of time when there are probably only 500 or so photos that should really put to date.  Is there a way to do without having to individually look through the display of grid and select all files that are no longer up-to-date?

  • How to save the changes to the HTML wrapper file?

    Hi all

I'm working on the .swf file. I make a few changes to the HTML wrapper file, but the changes are saved in the file.

Is there another way to do it?

    Thank you.

    Swati,

Flex tends to auto-update the wrapper file that it generates, which is frustrating if you change, then your changes are lost. I usually make a second copy of this file in the src folder and change this one. Flex will then leave it as-is (since he never controlled) but it will be deployed to your bin-debug folder (or wherever your output goes).

  • How do save about.config after change of smart bookmarks

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/restore-default-Smart-Bookmarks-folders

This should do what is necessary, BUT the change is not saved when I go out. How to save the changes?

Once Firefox treats the request, the preference will be changed again. The files reappear when you expect? If this isn't the case, it is possible that they moved in a subfolder. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find because the search box in the Library dialog box does not have Smart Bookmarks folders.

But you can search for them in a backup of the HTML format. Here's how:

    (1) export bookmarks to a file in HTML format that you save to a convenient location, such as your desktop. See: Firefox bookmarks export to a HTML file for backup or transfer bookmarks

    (2) open the HTML in Firefox and you can use find (Ctrl + f) to search for the missing smart bookmarks folder. Then, you can open this location in the library and bring it back where it belongs.

    A little luck?

  • Why won't my router save the changes to 192.168.0.1 DNS settings? (DGN2200v4)

I just bought a DGN2200v4 and successfully connected to the internet. However, it took me ages to figure out how to save the changes made to DNS settings. (I wanted to use "OpenDNS" on 208.67.222.222)

It turns out that if I connect to the router through 192.168.0.1, I can not change the DNS settings. When I click "Apply" after entering the new numbering, it takes 30 seconds or more for the progress bar for complete, but no change is made. i.e. it does not save the changes I made.

If instead I connect to the router via www.routerlogin.net, changes are correctly saved after clicking 'Apply', with the progress bar by taking 30 seconds or more.

I tried several times with consistent results. Why 192.168.0.1 not working then as www.routerlogin.net don't? I thought they were equivalent - the webpage 'Netgear genius' is identical on both...

    Sorry for the late reply.

Personally, I tend to reset factory and re - enter the settings manually, unless I've saved a backup of this same version of the firmware. However, I use Netgear as Access Points routers and so I have little data to re-enter. To some people will say that a factory reset is useless and very often they would be correct, but the effects of factory reset no when it may be necessary are often difficult to predict. I was moderator on these forums for a dozen years, and have seen hundreds of threads where the solution to the problems after an update of the firmware has been at the factory to reset the router.

You can remove autocomplete = off with a bookmarklet to register the name and the password of Firefox.

  • How to save image Lightroom changes in the source file?

My experience with the trial version of lightroom is very positive regarding the powerful image editing features and associated metadata.  But I can't find a way to save changes 'develop' images in the source file for the photo, with that I work.  So far, I am able to save metadata in the file, but not the image editing.  Of what I read, I'm afraid that's not possible without ridicule roundabout exporting to new files then copy / move multiple copies around, etc.. Without this opportunity, I am sure that I will buy Lightroom and will miss out on all the powerful features.  Without an OPTION that turns on the equivalent of a button SAVE, manage my photo collection would be a nightmare.

So my question is: How do you save the change (i.e. developed) version of photo in the same file where the original photo has been stored?

Please, please spare me the answers telling me how stupid I am want to do this and that the cognisenti and professionals would NEVER do that.    But please tell me there is a secret place to enable this option in lightroom.

    Thanks in advance.

    Dad Ben,

LR stores everything you do in his catalog. The word "catalog" in LR - talk indicates not your images, but the database where LR all the stores. This database (catalogue) is a file with the ending < .lrcat=""> and you can see where he is going on > Edit > catalog settings > general tab.

This storage or registration in the catalogue is happening constantly and automatically and you don't have to press a button to .

Stored or saved in the catalog are your changes and everything related to the management of the image (including the location of your image files), captions, keywords, etc.

For this reason, it is very important that preserve you and protect your LR catalog as you preserve and protect your image files. This means that (a) you know the location of the catalog and (b) you should make backups regularly. Without the catalog that you would be always your image files but your changes and everything what you in LR would be lost.

LR does not write to the original image file. But there is the possibility to save the changes in an xmp file, which is a small file which is (normally) Moreover the image file. Do you this backup to the xmp file either in the library Module by going to > metadata > save metadata to file (or the shortcut Ctrl / Cmd + letter "S"), or in the Module development by going > Photo > metadata save file - or CTR. + S.

With DNG, it is a bit different; with Lr DNG writes the changes to the file header. But the procedure is the same.

Economy of XMP (or in the header of a DNG) is not necessary because LR records everything in his catalog - automatically. Economy of XMP (or in the header of DNG) has the effect that the changes you made in LR are now visible in any other Adobe program that can read the XMP files (or DNG files) - for example Adobe Bridge. But for LR, it is not necessary.

And there is a caveat: while LR records everything in the catalog, not all things that you do in LR are written in XMP e DNG. If only the LR catalog records everything you've done in LR.

To answer your question: you do not have to save the modified version of a photo in the original file. LR saves your changes in the catalog automatically and displays your changes because he reads the original image file and then apply the changes to the display.

Instead, just save it to your desktop and drag it to the usual flash drive (in Windows Explorer or the Finder).
