  vMA is a nice light Linux OS, however, is that LINUX. You can easily install additional packages as an e-mail client, it is not included by default.

  See the other answers, you have obtained, but also be aware of the possibility that it is * not * your hotmail that sends messages. Rather your list of contacts may have been copied by malware and messages are sent from a different computer.

  Okay, I think that I fixed it.  I went in the Sys Config, Start Up and unchecked "common SDK-Sonic Solutions/Roxio."  Also not controlled all the other stuff video I don't need at start-up. I then restarted it, of course.  It has been a few hours now and no window flashing.  Roxio is a nice program, but has been a problem on my computer. By auto-off starting this program, it seems to have solved the problem.

  I did some research and a file ending with .odg is an OpenDocument Document OpenOffice/StarOffice (Ver 2) of graphics by Sun Microsystems, Inc.    This means that in order to open this file, you will need this program to open it.  You will not be able to open this file with Vista.

  Check with the help of your e-mail account, because they can also help if the emails are actually
  sending your account which is actually probably not. More likely, the spammers have
  a copy of your contacts or a copy of an email sent to these contacts.

  Proceed to a very thorough check for malware and then change your password by e-mail.
