How to send an SMS from the command prompt in Windows 7?

I clicked on this link http://www.fomine.com/net-send-gui.html in reference to the same question that I have.  It says nothing about the ability to use in Windows 7.  What I try to do is to send a message to a computer (Windows XP) and an iPod on my network to a batch file on my laptop using Windows 7.  I have a simple batch file with this tag to the breast:

CLS

the value n/p = planned ip address

the value m/p = Hello this is a test
net send /%n% /%m%

BREAK

All feel that it worked.  But when I look at the pc (Windows XP) through the room, it is not a pop-up message.  Someone at - it a sugguestions?

It's all about existing communication from the computer to the other.

NET SEND no longer exists in WIndows 7, if I remember correctly, it's the MSG, I think.

Also - I think by default, that "Messenger" service has been disabled after SP2 for Windows XP.  You will need to change that to start automatic/enabled.

Furthermore, I believe that you would have to modify the Windows Firewall to allow this traffic.

  • Can I stop or restart the Task Scheduler service from the command prompt in Windows 2008 service?

I'm on Server 2008. I have a scheduled task that is not working properly. I went to Services, and I see that it is configured to start automatically and it is actually being run. The problem is that I can't stop, pause, or restart the service. Y at - there a command I can run that can stop or restart the service?

Why not with the right button of the job itself in the Task Scheduler, and then stop it?

There are several methods to stop the Task Scheduler service that. Here's one of them:

    1. Create a task scheduled, called 'StopScheduler' as follows:
      -Triggering factor: at boot time
      -Command: sc.exe
      -Settings: time stop
      -User: System
      -Run with the highest privileges.
    2. Right click on the task of StopScheduler, and then click Run.
    3. Solve your tasks.
    4. Restart the Task Scheduler.
    5. Disable or remove the task StopScheduler.

  • Update Live from the command prompt

    Hello

I create an executable whose purpose and to make the creation of a winPE bootable USB key easier.

To create the key, I need to run multiple commands with the systemexec.vi. Many of these commands take ages at the end so I need to know whether or not the command is still in progress.

What would be great is to have a live update from the command prompt. I guess there should be a way to insert the command line in a secondary or other container?

    Best regards

Try to redirect the standard output to a file, as in this example:

    ping 192.168.0.46 > out.txt

If your utility supports redirection, you can read the contents of the file at any time.

Be careful to choose a working directory where your username has write permissions.

May not, your settings in Windows Explorer is configured to be able to see (display hidden and system files/directories).

    Hi all

Your very helpful answer I'm looking for the other parameters for the fair compilation

But the execution of a script, it's how do you things from the command line.

If you want to compile a package or procedure etc you can use for example:

    alter procedure  compile;

    in your script

In addition, if you include the 'exit' at the end of your script, it will return SQL * for the command-line command again.

  • How to remove an item from the start menu in Windows 7?

I tried to install a game written for an earlier version of Windows.  It did not work, but when I uninstalled the program, he left an icon in my Start menu.  I can't find a way to delete the item in my Start menu.

If I click on the link, I get a message that says that this is not a valid Win32 application.

If I right click on the link, I get options:
    Play
    Run as administrator
    More games from Microsoft
    Support
    PIN to the taskbar
    PIN to Start Menu
    Sort by name

I miss the opportunity, we usually need to change the Menu start manually!

I did all that, although I had to 'Show hidden files' in two different places, but the guarded program reappear, even after that I deleted everything that I could find that had "Lemmings" in there.  I had installed the program on the D drive and I could delete it, but the next time I saw the Start Menu, it would put a file on drive D named Lemmings Revolution.exe (with no data in this document, 0 bytes).

I tried the support link from Microsoft and the thought that should work, but alas, I didn't have the product code to enter the FixIt program when asked.

I finally took a huge risk Open regedit and then sought to any occurrence of the word "Lemmings".  I deleted everything in the registry that referenced "Lemmings", then returned to the D drive (in the command prompt) and deleted the above programme, after that I restarted my computer.

So far, it seems to have solved the problem...

(I knew after you remove some of the registry keys, one of the contained key code product I could entered the FixIt program, but by then I had already made changes.)

Thanks to everyone who tried to help me!

    Thanks Barry

If you have used Windows Explorer (computer) to create the directory in question (C:\KindleGen\) and extract the files in this directory...

    Open a command prompt.

    Type:

    CD \KindleGen

    Type:

    DIR

Run everything you are supposed to run by typing the name.

  • Cancel current Chkdsk from the command prompt

I use Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. I ran chkdsk to correct a file corrupted on an external hard drive. I started the administrator command prompt, disassembled the external hard drive and ran chkdsk/r. He proceeded to recover all the files I wanted, but then he finds another corrupt folder that I thought I had deleted. I don't don't need or want this another folder, but chkdsk has taken during the last 72 hours or so trying to fix it. Let us be clear, chkdsk is not fixed. Every two hours, it will update saying that it successfully recovered another file. There are hundreds of files in this folder. I'm looking for a way to stop chkdsk without hurting the parties not corrupt my external hard drive.

    Thanks for any response.

    Hello

As I was running chkdsk since the administrator on an external hard drive command prompt I didn't need to do a hard reboot. I just closed the command prompt. It seems did not cause any damage. The files it claims to have recovered are now available. While everything seems to have worked.

  • Why I can't change the default program from the command prompt?

Accidentally, I changed the default program to open the .py (Python script) files at the command prompt, now I can't change it back even in the Control Panel, the check box is gray. Also I tried the registry editor, I do not have the NoFileAssociate file.
If someone could help that would be great!

    Hello

This problem occurs when Windows thinks that the application already exists in the list. Change the name of the application may fix this problem. Please try the following if you do not want to rename python.exe

Method [1]: Use the registry to change the application Associations
ATTENTION: It is recommended that you create a restore point before you proceed
    • On the start menu, insert the following text and press ENTER: regedit.exe
    • Delete the following key
      Python.exe HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\
