  The process is automatic and the maximum transfer rate should be about 20 GB/HR. If the process crashes during that long of a time, it's probably because of something internal rather something you're doing wrong.
  For reference purposes, I included this link. It goes into the details of the migration from XP to Vista (and the basic steps you follow). The instructions are for migrating to Vista via the network, but you can easily follow the steps and choose a different option for your specific installation.

  For both machines, I recommend you to prepare for the transfer using the following procedure:
  1. click on START > run

  2 type "msconfig" (without the quotes) and press enter

  3. go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck all the entries displayed

  4. click on 'Apply' at the bottom right

  DO NOT RESTART YOUR COMPUTER AGAIN

  5. click on START > run

  6. Type "cmd" (without the quotes). Right-click on the result at the top of the menu START and select 'run as administrator '.

  7. type chkdsk /r and press enter

  8 allow the system to attempt disassembly of the volume

  9. allow the system to plan restarting

  10. restart your computer

  11 let checkdisk analyze the file system on your hard drive

  12. Once completed, perform the same steps on the other machine

  13. Once completed, repeat the transfer

  1. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
  2. When do you get exactly the error message?
  3. Have you tried to connect to any other computer on this flash drives?
  4. Your USB key works on other computers or have you tried to connect to different USB ports on this computer?
  5. Is the pen drive getting detected in the case or you are able to access the drive folder in the window of the computer ?

  The question may arise if the currently loaded USB driver has become unstable or damaged, or if your PC requires an update for problems that could conflict with a device USB and Windows. This can also occur if your USB controllers may have become unstable or corrupt. So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists.

  Method 1:

  Please try the fixit (s) provided below which will help you solve common problems associated with devices and USB ports.

  Connect to Enterprisemanger-> right click on the domain-> titles-> roles and policies

  Then select capture and navigate to capture roles add LDAP users and groups to roles according to your requirement to capture.   I use a Lenovo thinkpad running windows XP. I want to set up an independent network so that I can connect my hardware for debugging. At the same time, I want to be able to access the corporate network using the wireless interface.  My autonomous network consists of a Belkin router that is to act as a DHCP server, my laptop connected to a port on the router and my test material connected to a different port on the router. My wireless interface is configured to connect to the corporate network. With wireless interface and the ethernet interface (wired) enabled, when I am doing a config ip, I see that the devices get valid IP address, corresponding to subnets, they connect to IE the ethernet port gets IP address 192.168.x.x 172.x.x.x IP poster wireless interface while. But I am not able to ping or access sites on the internet, I am able to ping the router Belkin on the independent network.

  However, if I go under network connections and disable the ethernet connection to the local network can access the internet and my business network. Similarly, if I disable the wireless connection and that you enable the ethernet connection, so I am able to ping the router only and not my test equipment connected on the same subnet.

  If I configure the (wired) ethernet network interface to use a static IP address in the pool of IP from the router Belkiin (who is also a DHCP server) and set the IP Address of the Belkin router as gateway, I can access all the other devices on this local subnet if and only if the wireless interface is disabled.

  The search for networks order is defined as the wireless and Ethernet.

  We strive to set up a static IP address on several iPads so they can access a secure on a Verizon data plan Web site. I watched all the videos and went through all the directions I can google and I'm still without a solution.
