How to stop calls from the India offer me help on viruses, they say that I downloaded

I get these calls... String them along, and this time they gave me a number to call back.

9089 505-506
Also, it is the number that was displayed on my phone... 607-529-9985.
What can I do to stop this...

There are a lot of different scammers do these kinds of phone scams. They operate worldwide and are difficult to control or track. Personally, I am red which helps.

Some people say that they don't own a computer and hang up. In this way these specific Crooks, at least, have no reason to remember.

Your best defense is to know when it comes to scams - tell your family and your frends too.

Although you already seem to know that these calls are usually scams, here's my usual advice:

«Do not make them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest.» One moment.

Please see:

Microsoft issues never not solicited for phone calls of support or security.

These types of callers can use completely fictitious names or bogusly claim to be of real companies other than Microsoft as well. »

    I keep getting phone calls from a person in India (or a person with an Indian accent) who says that he comes from Windows and there is a problem with my computer.  He calls me by name and asks me to turn on my computer, that I refuse to do.  This looks like a scam to me, given that Windows notifies users of problems with updates on the internet.  In addition, I am on the "do not call" list, but it seems to make no difference.

  • How to stop Firefox from the start?

    Hey, I think that this problem is part of a bigger problem.

    I tried the suggestions in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/989230 to the letter and yet nothing can fix it.

    For those who won't click on the link or the copy - paste. The problem is the following:

    During startup, Firefox opens automatically on my home page. In this case recently ever since Windows Update 8.1 on July 15, 2014. Also, what happens during the update, is that my ultrabook which supposed to have instant feature now seems to be ultra slow at the start and extremely slow when stopping down.

    Some programs have been installed except the 8.1 patch update and only different before and after that the update which is now Firefox start instantly.

    Solutions I've tried:

    (1) task Manager > startup > want to uncheck just Firefox at startup but not Firefox is here

    (2) open CCleaner > start-up > no even Firefox on it

    (3) searched msconfig > startup > go to the Task Manager > repeat step 1

    (4) went on http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx on the link at the top to start windows > No. Firefox has detected that either, 4-5 entry yellow and 1 red
    4A) have no idea what these means, what I notice, is that yellow could not locate the file, and the Red just here does nothing I guess.

    Here are the four steps I tried without success and I'm very sure that Firefox autostart is originally my laptop started slower than my computer pentium 4 windows 95 I have to the corner of my room.

    Further suggestions other than what I tried would be welcome.

    The problem seemed if being arrested since my laptop got another BSOD.

    I guess that this laptop just needs a foot in the head at work again.

    I'm filling out a form that asks for 6 issues. The first digit must be a '0', but when I move to the next field, it drops the '0 '.

    Is there something in the settings to avoid this problem? Thank you.

    If the scope has been defined as having a number format, and then it will hide all the zeros at the beginning of the value entered. However, these zeros are still there, behind the scenes and will be present at the output to export the form data.

    You can report a problem to the creators of the form, but there is nothing you can do about it.

    I have a phone Samsung SGH T305, but not internet access for my phone.  Just a phone with a camera.  To transfer pictures to my PC, I connected a usb cable and PC.  I can't send them to my e-mail through the cable.   I don't know how to retrieve pictures from the camera.

    With my LG, I used a memory card and move the photos to the card.  The device must be queued for mass storage until you will see the folders using the usb cable.  If you use a memory card, don't forget that it snaps into place.  Otherwise you will never see the folders if is not installed correctly.

  • How to read continuously from the rs232?

    Hello

    I'm new to LabVIEW and my questions would be obvious for some for you. So please help if you know the solution.

    It's for my school project. For your information, we need to schedule a Committee of Altera DE2 to control traffic lights (something like that) and at the same time, the Commission shall forward the States of enlightenment to a computer with LabVIEW installed via an RS-232 cable.

    The rest of the project was fine except for the part of LabVIEW, because as I said earlier, I'm new to LabVIEW.

    We use the "basic series write and Read.vi" in the folder examples of NEITHER. The problem is that we do not know how to change the vi in order to receive the data that come the DE2 Board permanently. Each time, the vi stops reading after receiving 24 bytes of data.

    So, the first question is:
    1.) how to read continuously from the RS-232 port? (We tried to use while "loop" but without success, maybe we were doing it the wrong way.) If you know the solution, please enlighten us for us in a detailed manner.

    (2) Secondly, once we have received the 'chain', how can convert us to bits (0 and 1) so that we might be able to manipulate the bits, for example turn on the LEDs that correspond to the bits.

    Thank you.

    Instead of reading the bytes of the port so to read that many bytes (which may be zero), just do a VISA read for 1 byte.  He will wait for this next byte.

    To get an array of Boolean out of this byte, use this code.  He turns the characters into a byte array.  Takes the first and the only element of this array, and then converts this single U8 number into an array of bytes.

    Which country are you?  I've never seen or heard lights orange before.  Only the yellow lights.

  • ERROR, called from the thread NON-INTERFACE QThread

    I am trying to load an image using QtConcurrent:map at the same time and I received this error.

    WARNING: ApplicationPrivate::context: ERROR called NON-INTERFACE QThread thread (0xf9ff68, name = "thread (pooled)" ")
    Fatal: ApplicationPrivate::context: method called from the UI thread

    I simplified the code as follows:

    imagescaler::queuescaling{
    ..    mimageScaling = new QFutureWatcher(this);
    mimageScaling->setFuture(QtConcurrent::mapped(mImageList, scaledImage));
    ..
    }

    Image scaledImage(QString file_name) {
       QImage qImage;
       bb::ImageData imageData(bb::PixelFormat::RGBA_Premultiplied, qImage.width(),
      qImage.height());  // causes error
      return imageData;
    }

    Anyone know what the problem is or how to work around?

    Thanks for point out the bb:ImageData.  Never noticed the incompatibility.  Image converts ImageData to initialization, so it does not create an error.  However, if I return an ImageData rather than the Image it does not crash.  I then simply convert ImageData of Image in the UI thread and it works very well.

    I'm curious to know why I can return a blank image and I can return an imageData, but I can't go back an Image that's been converted from ImageData.  Do not understand what can or cannot be done outside the UI thread.
