  • How to stop programs that run automatically at startup?

Hi I just wanted to know how to stop programs from running automatically at startup, I already ran msconfig and disabled programs that I don't want to run at startup and it always automatically start also on msconfig, it indicates the applications that I don't want to run at startup is disabled and it always runs at startup. The programs that I don't want to run at startup are tom tom home and bbc iplayer desktop, but he always runs at startup.

One other thing is when I install new programs, that they automatically run at startup without my permission.

Palcouk did preferred proposals. Another way to identify which loads when you start using Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft).
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902

With Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig.

A useful feature of the program is that you can click with the right button on an item and select search online to get information about the selected item.

How to stop a downloaded file open automatically, because it is really frustrating when I download music and videos as well as the files play automatically.

It is a question, I intend to answer that I discovered the answer today and could not find it in the community. Apple support also could not solve this problem.

    Answer:

In Safari preferences in the general section, there is a small box at the bottom that is checked by default, clear this check box.

    The box is called:

Open your 'safe' after downloading files

    'reliable' files include movies, photos,

There is no such thing as a "max usage limit" (other than to be in use on a single computer at a time) for a Windows XP product key.

There is no limit to the number of times where you can reinstall and activate the same license of Windows XP on the same PC.  Is never a charge.  No more than a product key (as long as it is not an evaluation license) never expire.  If it's been more than 120 days you finally turned on this specific product key, you will probably be able to activate via the Internet without problem.  If it was less, you may need to do a five minute phone call.

  • How can I copy a full hard drive from Windows 7 Professional to a new laptop with Windows 7 pre-installed home?

I have a laptop with Windows 7 Professional older and want to keep my programs and files intact and transfer to a new laptop, with Windows 7 Home, pre-installed.

First try the image restore option. If that does not work, use your professional Windows 7 disc and boot from it, delete all partitions, then attempt to restore image.

Don't forget: save your Home Premium installation before doing any of this.

  • How to stop programs change my type of keyboard?

    Hello!

I am currently using Windows 8 and a small number of programs is change my keyboard from English (UK) to English (United States) at the launch. The majority of these programs is to Steam games like Portal 2. I use a UK keyboard, of course.
At first, I thought that it was the fault of the games, but I tried them on another computer running Windows 7 and not such a problem occurred. I then started seeing the problem in some other applications based on flash (on my machine Windows 8) and concluded that a number of programs have simply been encoded for use English (United States) keyboard of Windows 8 configurations.
Therefore, I'm looking for a way to avoid that programs to change the keyboard layout. I tried to force English (UK) through keyboard under region and language settings in Control Panel, but the programs simply ignore this and change available anyway. I tried to uninstall English (United States), but of course it wouldn't let me no matter how, I tried to go about it.
Is there a way to force the (British) English keyboard layout using the registry? It would be the most foolproof way forward on this issue. If not, is there anything else I can do?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, these methods didn't work until what I restarted my computer, after which the programs still just ignored the instructions.

However, I found a workaround, late last night which was extremely complex, unfortunately, I don't remember what I did. I messed around with the UAC settings and region and language and essentially prohibits anything but English (United Kingdom), and programs are not changing the language.
Thanks for your help. I'll write emails to the developers of programs to advise them of the problem so that this does not occur for future users.
