How to stop Windows Messenger starts on startup when I don't have a user account for it?
Windows Messenger starts on start up despite the fact that I don't have a user account to get him out I am unable to remove it from my user accounts in Control Panel.
Hello
In Windows Messenger - Tools - Options - Sign In - uncheck the boxes to run automatically.
Apply - OK.
You can also right click on it and EXIT in the Notification area near the clock in the bottom right.
I hope this helps.

How to stop windows media player from reading when I open it?
I have windows vista. Why does windows media player start to play the first track in my list when it comes on? It didn't used to, but my system has been rebuilt, and now I can not find anywhere, no matter what help (is not always the case? Help files are never 'useful'). I didn't start playing a track just because I opened the windows media player!
Media Player has no opportunity to do so. Are you sure you're not clicking on a shortcut file that specifies to play? If you are unsure if the shortcut file specifies a game action, here is how to test directly open it:
(1) make sure that all programs are closed
(2) press Windows + R to display the race
(3) type wmplayer and press OK
Media Player should open without playing anything.

I'm on Windows XP Home Edition
Never had this problem before.Turned the computer on last night.Whenever I hit enter WMP starts.I rebooted, disconnected the keyboard, reconnected, etc..Help!Thanks for the reply.
I answer so that if anyone else has this problem in the future this can also help.Method 1 - I do not have a shortcut for WMP on desktop, so it's s/o.Method 2 - I had actually downloaded an upgrade to Adobe Flash Player the previous night. So I uninstalled, restarted, but the problem was still there.Method 3 - (my method)-j' swapped the keyboard, rebooted and the problem is solved.Don't know why, no damage has been done to the keyboard, no spill, etc..I hope it was. Thanks again for the support. -
How to stop windows mail spelling my signature every time that I have send a message.
Hello
I have a custom email signature I settled by default on my message options. Whenever I compose a message, the spelling check includes my signature. I need to spell check my actual post without going through the spelling of signature every time.
Also, I can't insert any default signature message. There must be a limit to the number of characters, you are able to use. Is there a way around this problem as my message signature cut three quarters of the way through.
Thank you very much
Drew.

Most of what I read on that forces me to restart with a book drive. Windows 7 was installed on my pc when I bought it and it did not come with any additional Windows software. They suggested to disable the system restore, rebooting with disc and in the command prompt, typing bootrec/fix mbr. Can I do this without going through the disc to reboot?

How can I start private browsing when I don't have a "Firefox" button click?
"Open a new window empty private."
At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button and select New Private Window. A new Private Window will open.
"
That's what he said! But where is this Firefox button at the top of my window of Firefox (v 20.0.1)? What I have at the top of the window is:
(1) a bar of blue background with the Firefox icon and the title of the current page
(2) 2 bars gray background with buttons and menus (file, editing,...)
(3) 1 bar background gray with the bookmarks bar
(4) the tab bar
But no Firefox button, and none available in the customise dialog. Have I suppressed it somehow?
Hello, the private browsing window is accessible via the file menu that you referenced too - or you can use keyboard shortcut ctrl + shift + p.
If you want to get the interface by default with the firefox button well, go to view > toolbars and disable the menu bar...

How to stop Windows Update to force an unwanted win7 upgrade to win 10
Can someone tell me how to stop Windows Update to force an unwanted Win 7 upgrade to win 10.
Currently, I have 50 + 'important' updates pending and 3 updates "optional" (which one is ranked 10 Windows), but even with 10 Windows Update is not selected and the value "hide this update" the only option shown in Windows Update is upgrading to Windows 10.
Any attempt to install ONE of the other Win 7 or MS Office updates translates into Windows Update, saying that it is downloading Windows 10.
I would like to install updates Windows 7 (and MS Office), but given the way that Microsoft has put on several occasions customers for a forced update to win 10, I'd really rather not count on leave install Win 10 and just hope that the 'Roll Back' option really works without leaving me right where I am now.
