  • Missing network drive prevents uninstalling VMWare Workstation

I am difficult to uninstall VMware Workstation, we reassigned to a laptop computer of a user who has left the company however somewhere along the line of the installation of VMware has become broken (2 services does not [authorization and Workstation Server], I tried the registry changes suggested here with no luck (: https://communities.vmware.com/message/2178663#2178663). To work around this I want to reinstall VMWare Workstation. When do I receive an error that Setup search a network location that is not accessible and cannot continue.

""Could not access network location"\\network_location\username\My Documents\Shared Virtual Machines.

Can someone point me in the right direction for re-pointing to this location so that the installation program can complete?

    Thank you

    Roland.

Can you not just quickly and easily temporarily recreate the missing part, do the uninstall and then remove the is no longer need for action?

If not, look in the Windows registry or files in "C:\ProgramData\VMware\hostd".  Or uninstall manually by using the information in: cleaning after incomplete uninstall on a Windows host (1308).

  • How to run VMWARE Workstation 7.1.2 securely on Windows 7?

    Hello

I downloaded a trial version of vmware workstation 7.1.2 to check, if I could use it to keep a proven windows 2000 on a windows host environment 7.

When I run a virtual machine, the system tells me, that the "VmWare authorization Service" does not work. When I try to start from the list of services of the Task Manager, I get the error code_6000004.

On a forum German vmware, I found the advice to disable windows security feature 7 UAC completely. But that has not yet solved the problem I've tried with a non-administrative user account.

Finally it works, but only in a dangerous way:

So far, I only managed to run VMWARE 7.1.2 on Windows 7, if I disable UAC AND log in as administrator. Which would be Ok for experiment from time to time, but do not regularly the computer as is - for good reason - not recommended by windows.

Can someone please give me some adivce on my questions:

How can I use VMWare Workstation on a host of Windows 7 with an non-administratif account?

Better would be, how can I use VMWare Workstation as a standard user AND you have UAC on a recommended security level?

Is disabling the functions of central security in fact the adivce official to run VmWare on a host of Windows 7?

I know, Windows 7 is quite new and a lot of software has not properly adapted to him so far, but in the meantime, it is still not easy to find an older host OS to be able to correctly use VMWare (on Windows 2000 as a host, it worked great and I do not want to give it up so easy)

    Kind regards

I just removed the XML that has been added automatically

I used Vmware Workstation 7.x for Windows 7 without problems so far. I installed the package as an administrator, of course, but then used the user to create and manage virtual machines. I have UAC in default mode and does not get a prompt either do anything.

The option "Run as Administrator" is just to load an application with administrator credentials already loading in the token to access at the outset and you will get a prompt later, but there should be no difference here.

  • How to uninstall vmware player

I installed vmware player, but I can't install the tools so I decided to uninstall it, but I wonder how do.

with vmware, I installed win xp: had first I have to unistall win xp? How do I? or simply uninstall vmware? Ho do?

    Thank you very much

Uninstalling the machine virtual xp is not necessary. You can uninstall the player of vmware on your machine. and later if you will install/upgrade the vmware workstation or player you, then you must manually open it instead of just clicking on its tab. But as long as you know the folder stored in the computer virtual, which is the smallest of the disadvantages.

This article is also to: vmware player and its component cleanly uninstalling your machine without leaving a single clue of its existence.

  • How to configure vmware workstation and server Suse 10 as operating system prompted

Hi, I installed vmware workstation 6.5 on vista and Suse 10 as guest operating system.  I keep Suse as default (without any network configuration).  I modified the default vmware gateway 192.168.2.1 keep even as window by default gateway settings. I also changed to the subnet to 192.168.2.0.  The IP address is replaced by 192.168.2.128. IP address of my Vista is 192.168.2.4 and DNS Server 4.4.4.1 and 4.4.4.2.

I tried to ping between host and guest, and comments to the host, but still received the error of "destination host unreachable". It does not matter using host only or NAT mode.

All Documents available? All advice? What do I have to configure Suse network. ?

    Thank you

    INET addr:192.168.30.128 Bcast:192.168.30.255 mask: 255.255.255.0

If the IP address of comments has the correct value you use VMnet8, not VMnet1. It should work, but this isn't the network "host-only '. That's what I need the .vmx file for. If this indicates that the virtual NETWORK adapter is configured as 'host-only' the IP of comments is wrong. It must be 192.168.17.x in this case.

However... try to get a ping of the IP address, not name. Depending on the configuration you have posted, you should try to ping the 192.168.30.1 customer and 192.168.30.128 host. Don't forget that cannot work if your client is configured to use instead of VMnet1 VMnet8. If it is really configured to use VMnet1 you must change the IP of comments that I wrote above.

If the host and the guest have active firewall disable them for testing purposes.

Furthermore, by default, VMware installs a DHCP for VMnet1 and VMnet8 service. So if this service is still running on your host computer, you can assign the DHCP client and he gets the appropriate automatically for the network IP address.

I don't no how to open the *.vmx in text format.  I noticed that vmnet1 IP address on the side of the BACK is 192.168.17.1 but side comments, it is established as 192.168.20.0.

It is a text file. Just open in an editor and copy and paste it or attach the file to your next post.

  • VMware Workstation, Windows 7 + Huawei (high-speed Mobile) = problems!

    Hello!

I bought this laptop with Intel Core i7, Intel chipset and Win7 processor.

If I install the Huawei (E220, E1750, E1550) device in your PC with Vmware Workstation they all work very well.

After installing Wmvare Workstation these problems come from:

    1. the computer detects the device and the drivers on the cd player emulated the unit and install.

    2. the computer, unplug the and then finds the unit and looking for drivers (never find anything, but still to try to find for hours). Now, the computer won't let you reboot/shutdown. (Only by pressing the powerbutton will stop it)

Restarting the computer restarts 2 allover.

Uninstall all the drivers again 1, then 2.

Uninstalling Vmware och disabling usb vmware service does not solve the problem.

System rescue using the computer justlike it was before installing Vmware Workstation unity functioning well again.

But after the relocation of Wmware Workstation problems are back.

I have updated bios, drivers for usb (even tried the General usb driver) without success... The device worked under an emulated xp computer, however when I tried it. Please help me.   Jonny!

do you need a USB support for your virtual machines?

You might want to uninstall the USB services using VMware and then install the Huawei device?

  • How to uninstall VMWare 6.5.2 running Vista Ultimate host?

    Dear all,

Was a search and could not see anything quite like that. I'm trying to uninstall VMWare 6.5.2 and, uh, it won't.

I start the installation, and after a lot of collection of information and the configuration of Windows, I get this applicant: "you currently have licenses for one or more VMWare products stored in your Windows registry. You want to keep in case you reinstall these products on this computer? "If I type 'No', I get an applicant showing my license (actually shows 6.0 and it should be 6.5.2)." If I hit Cancel the installation is abandoned.

So I the applicant showing my driver's license. If I choose the license and click ok, I get: "withdrawal of this license may prevent you to install the upgrade versions of products VMWare." Are you sure you want to remove this license? Click No to keep the license key. "I click Yes. The installation is aborted.

If I click 'No', the installation is aborted. In all cases, that bar will in back to the left and the new outputs.

Is it possible to make it past the applicants and uninstall? Or is he a good uninstall utility?

  • How to run VMWare workstation as a service?

    Hello

I installed VMware Workstation 7 (latest version) and created a virtual machine. The problem is that once I have disconnected the host, the virtual machine stops!

Is there a setting to prevent this? It should be able to run VMWare Workstation as a service.

    Thank you

    M.R.

Running a process that wasn't supposed to be run as a service was taken over ad nauseam on Internet Google is your friend.

Although it is possible to start the process as a service, however unless you use a program that can well handle the cessation of treatment and or restart the messages from the host and transmit them to the virtual machine, then it does not really work as a true service since it will not be the appropriate communication channels to activate the Virtual Machine to make a correct and controlled stop when the host is restarted or shutdown and that can damage the Virtual Machine.  If you plan to run a VM as a Service under VMware Workstation then I offer so you have good backups (which we should have anyway) and make sure you have access to working distance before running it as a service you can do a controlled stop on the VM before the reboot or shutdown of the host if you have not a utility appropriate to deal with it properly and safely.

Another option is to use VMware Server, but keep in mind it seems to be the end of life and not maintained more.

  • How to uninstall pccleaner when windows won't

I'm trying to uninstall PCcleaner but they block some how so I can't do it.

Also, how do I completely get rid of bearshare. I uninstalled it but he always comes back.

    Hello

    ·         What operating system do you use?

    ·         You get the error message?

Follow these methods and check if that helps.

    Method 1:

There is a 'Rapid Product Removal Tool' from Microsoft which can be used to remove the programs that we are not able to remove it by using the functionality of the program.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

    Method 2:

I also suggest you to download and run the latest Microsoft Scanner on your computer and check to see if it helps:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: the data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 3:

You can try to clean boot, and then try to uninstall the program and see if it helps:

  • How to uninstall and reinstall windows media player?

I have a client who no longer get windows media player to recognize an external WD media player to synchronize instead of play.  The sync option is grayed out.  He has worked in the past and the player is recognized by another computer and synchronizes.  I think that a player reinstall would remedy this problem.  How do you do that since the media player cannot be uninstalled via the control panel?

    Hello

Windows Media Player is part of the Vista operating system, and as such cannot be uninstalled, then reinstalled.

You can borrow, if you do not already have one, a DVD of Microsoft Vista and do a repair upgrade Installation:

  • How to uninstall Google Chrome Windows 8?

I downloaded Google Chrome on my new computer with Windows 8.1.  It has a few annoying problems and I would like to remove it.  Because it came with included additional "programs", to remove it, I have to run as administrator.  How can I do this in Windows 8?

    Original title: run as administrator

Mo problem. I was not sure if you have uninstalled Chrome but not the additional bloatware that can come with it. Make sure that everything is closed when you try to remove it. To make sure that it is go to the Task Manager and click on the Startup tab, make sure that everything that you do not need and everything about Chrome or Google is disabled then try uninstalling it.

Let me know if you continue to get errors and if possible get a screenshot. Uninstall errors can come from programs or windows so it would be useful to see what is happening.
