How to use rotoscoped layer as mask or track matte

I do some work between a 3d program and after effects cs6.

Is it possible to use a layer of rotoscoped as a mask or a matte to another layer?

Have you tried as luma cache without success.

Should I precompose anything?

Thanks for any help.

Do not use a cache of Luma.  Use an Alpha Matte, or Alpha inverted Matte: the difference depends on what you want, you want to see and what you don't want to see, and it is simple to change.

I used Photoshop to create a series of web pages. I currently have about 20 such pages.

Unfortunately, I need to change the navigation menu located on 20 pages.

To make these changes, that I need to change 20 different files? Or y at - it gives a way to bind a group of layers for several PSD files that change on 20 pages edit once?

    Thank you

You will have to make some kind of change to each document, but it should only take a few minutes when there are only 20 of them. You change the group in one, then for each other, simply duplicate or drag the edited in Group and delete the old group.

There is also the possibility to structure your workflow with smart objects, which may be updated at each document of a joint paper containing only the menu group. For a content of the dynamic object link, there's a third party plugin but I don't know if it's reliable.

  • Use a layer as map alpha (mask) for another - how?

Hi, I do not understand how to do this in Photoshop. In After Effects, which I use a lot, it's easy. For example, I have a layer with semi transparent, transparent opaque areas. I can then say AE to use this layer as a map of alpha channel for another layer. But how to do this in Photoshop? I understand how to use a layer mask and draw on the same layer to create spaces treansparent. But I want to use a layer of separante, or even a separate image.

    I use Photoshop CS 5.

I have a layer with a photo.  I animated a mask to this layer, but now the client wants the picture replaced by another.  When I add a new photo in a new layer and copy the properties of the good work the mask layer mask lands in a different location than the original.  I tried to make a replacement of the images with the source photo try to make the new photo but the same results, the mask always gets repositioned.

If they are of different sizes, use the old layer as a track matte for the new.

    Hello

I use the Cisco 1841 router with a single port layer 3 Fe0 and 8 Ports switched.

I gave the IP on the Fe0 port which is connected to another router.

Now I don't know how to use Layer 2 of the router switch ports.

I tried to make one of the port as a Port of access by switchport mode access and connected my laptop and the same subnet given IP, but I can't ping my Fe0 IP port and vice versa, as I am also unable to ping my laptop router.

Can someone explain to me how to use these ports on layer 2?

  • How to make a layer mask to type in CC?

I am after this Tutorial: Photoshop: professional cleaning Logo - YouTube and can not find a way to make the mask layer type thing that makes the background show through. I know that the tutorial is for CS6, but they should be the same, right?

The layer mask is the same for CS6 & CC. There are several ways to do so. But the video showed him using the masking of the text tool. It uses the quick mask to make the text - where the color pink. You can size your text by holding down the ctrl/cmd key to appear of the transformation handles. Once you are happy with the size of the text, click on the checkbox validate or ctrl/cmd + enter to change quick mask in a selection. The video then shows the selection used to create a mask on a layer. To invert the mask, and punch through the layer text to show the blue below, the opt/alt key has been pressed while the mask icon has been selected in the layers panel.

Basically I want the text layer is placed behind the mask, but when I try to do the mask moves with the layer, but I want the mask to stay put?

You can also use a matte, animating the underlying layer and leaving the stationary track matte.

  • How to use photoshop to produce lines of edge weighted, similar to lightroom masking slider

How to use photoshop to mimic the effect of Visual detection of contours, as shown in the Lightroom interface holding the key alt and pulling the "masking" slider located under the options of sharpness?

Here is an example of what I want to do:

    Start with this image:

    IMGL6343-2.jpg

And you end up with this:

    Starparty Edges 1.jpg

I was able to do this by taking a screenshot of my window of lightroom now alt and drag the slider "masking" where I wanted to, but I would like to be able to reproduce this effect in full resolution of the image and without having to use such inelegant solution. I asked my local photography group and, while a lot of people stressed the fact that it is extremely easy to use "curves" to do this, I spent hours looking for and experimenting with the curves and same dialog box never approached to reproduce the effect.

    Here's a quick example:

  • I don't know how to use a light layer in After Effects CS4

    light layer.pngHello

I work with a lot of layers of texts and it is very trendy to put a thin layer on the text at one time or another, it also seems to be really good. But I looked on the net for tutorials and may not know how to use the light layer so that a light passes through a text from one side to the other. It looks like a flashlight through the text. I go to the top and choose > layer > new > light.

What is the color of the text changes (the part that is not shined on). How can I change the settings so that the color of the text does not change? Do you know video tutorials to use for a light coating?

    Thank you for your time!

You might need two layers of light: ambient light to get the layer set a general spread of the light, then a spot light to create a moment strong.  Adjust the specularity and brilliance of the layer will also give different results.

If you try just to create a strong general time that rolls through the text, try instead the plugin CC Light Sweep.  Also, applying a layer color ramp can create the illusion of some effects of light.

  • How to copy a layer and its mask layer to another image?

With the help of PSE9, how a copy a layer and its mask layer to another image?

Online Help includes a topic on how to copy a layer but try the different methods in the help topic results in either nothing copied or just the layer without his mask layer is copied.  Thank you.

How did you get a copy?  If you float your images so that they are both partially visible in the work area, make one with the being copied the active layer.  Then, drag the layer in the layers palette on the other image.  Now you should have both the layer mask on the second image.

How to select a layer by name using Javascript?

You can do this in Applescript by using this code:

set active layer of the window active to layer "Layout" of myDocument

I can't understand the correct syntax in Javascript.

Someone knows how to do this?

Any information would be greatly appreciated,

In JavaScript, you can use the following code:

    app.activeDocument.activeLayer=app.activeDocument.layers.itemByName("Layout");

For "app.activeDocument", use "myDocument", if you prefer.

  • How to use a mask in Photoshop?

I am simply trying to use an image as a mask, but not having a chance.

I heard that overlay track matte was the way to do it, but when I tried this, the scaling of the mask has been utterly extinguished.

    Help, please!

The image must be exactly the same resolution as your sequence settings.
