How to view all Control Panel options related?

Hey everybody!

Work on an architectural project and I just transferred my Illustrator CS6 of Rhino project. Basically what I need is to change some more thin spacer, dotted and different lines. Now, I used Illustrator several times before on other computers, so I knew that to do this, I needed to go on the dash Panel and change the settings there. Pretty simple. HOWEVER. The only option in my line Panel is weight. Options without a hyphen, without spacing options, nada.

Can anyone help? I tried to look in the window options, display options, and absolutely nothing seems to work. Every tutorial I've seen to change line weight/table of edge/space/etc it shows the same way: in the outline Panel. Mine just seems to be the only one in the world who does not want to give me these options.

Thank you very much in advance!

-Shelly.

Use the drop down at the top right of the Panel outline and choose "Display Options".

  • Windows 7 - How can I get rid of an "All Control Panel items" icon on the desktop?

Only, I've migrated to Vista Ultimate x 64 to Windows 7 Professional x 64.  I used Laplink to move all my users, programs, and settings.  Everything is great, except now there is an icon on the desktop for all my users that I can't get rid of - it connects to the control panel and is called "All Control Panel items" - it cannot be deleted or moved to the Recycle Bin. Make a right click on it brings up a menu with 'open' and 'create a shortcut' by dragging it to the trash does not delete it.

If I am right cick on the desktop and add Control Panel to the items displayed on the desktop, a second control Panel icon appears with the same picture, but the text is just 'control panel '.

I don't know there is a registry key that I have to remove or adjust but after a lot of research can't find anything.

Open the Publisher of the registry (Regedit.exe) and navigate to:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace]

Backup the key by exporting to a REG file.

Expand the branch above and delete the following subkey:

    {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
(The above is the GUID for "All Control Panel items" Namespace)

Similarly, to remove the entry here (if found)

  • The parameters ' view by ' control panel of Windows 8 will not stick

    Hello

I am running Windows 8 Pro N. When I open the control panel its default view is "category". If I change this to 'Small icons', farm on Control Panel and open it again, it's back to the "category" mode

Is there a setting that needs to be set so that this preference stick?

    Thank you

    Andy Jackson

I had the same problem. While that the 4 steps has not worked for me either, I found a solution quite similar as Ajacks which I believe will work on all platforms of Windows 8.

When you open Control Panel, it opens in 'Category' default mode.
If you look at the address bar, it will just say 'Control Panel'.
But if you switch to "Small icons" or "Large icons", the address reads now "Panel > all Control Panel items.

If you mouse over the words "All Control Panel items", it will highlight blue. You can then click and drag on the desktop to create a shortcut. When you click this shortcut, it should open up the control panel to display small or large icons, that you last closed (category view will not count!). In addition, you can right-click on this shortcut and pine in the Start Menu or add to Favorites to access practice. You can also change the name of "Control Panel" If you don't like the name of 'All Control Panel items' bulky.

If you want the control panel to open in category view again then do the same thing, but this time select and drag the words "Control Panel" in the address bar and pin it Start or where ever you usually click to open the control panel.

I hope that this solution makes it easy to one who reads this to match their preference!

  • Storm affected my computer - I am now unable to open all Control Panel items

A month or there we had a big storm in our area that has lightning.  My computer is plugged into a power strip surge.  After the storm, I was unable to open everything in the control panel.  This includes sound, displaying the desktop, add/remove programs, etc..  Help, please!  What should I do to fix this?  Thank you!

It seems that you were lucky enough to make your computer is above all functional.  The most comman damage caused by a power outage unexpectedly sudden or a lightning arrestor are due disc disruption of power file system corruption when writing to disk.  The first step should be to perform a disk check operation.  Fortunately, this does not mean the control panel.  When you perform this check, specify the options/r or f if you use the command line or the two boxes if you are using the GUI.  He will complain that it cannot check until you restart.  Simply answer 'Yes' then restart your machine.  WARNING: a complete check-up can take hours and cannot be interrupted.  Progress bars are not always accurate.

  • On some documents, I get an error message that ends with "...» create an association in the Set Associations control panel. "Why do I get this and how to access this control panel?

Need help to access the Panel Associations value so I can open the docs have no association, according to the error message that I receive

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

You need a program on your system to open these documents (file types), and the program must be associated with the file type. Go to start / Default programs / associate a file or Protocol with a program and scroll down to the types of files of these documents.  Can the default program open this type of file or the file type is same?  If this isn't the case, you will need to install a software that can read and open possibly work with the types of files in question.  Exactly which types of files you can not read (what are their extensions - the three digit after the name of the file identifier). ?  If you do not see the extension, go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / View / and uncheck Hide extensions of known and then file types try to look at the files again.

Please post back with results or if you have other issues (as may have answered your question).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
