  • How to wear a PlayBook JQueryMobile project project BB10

    Hello.

    I have an application developed for Playbook that is originally a JQueryMobile project.  And it runs in the dev BB10 alpha compiled with earlier versions of the SDK Webworks BB10.

    I have to wear and I would use bb10-theme instead of jquery's default theme.

    Someone at - it facing the same problem again? Any advise?

    Thanks in advance.

    @itassets

    What is the problem?  Do you mean that the theme of jquery BB10 won't work on playbook?  Have you tried already?

    As far as I know jquery mobile looks and works the same on all platforms.  The only difference in the app will be your config.xml AND any API, you used.  Some of the API will be same not the same.

  • How to create a Websocket Java client application that receives incoming Messages

    Hello

    How to create a Java only incoming Websocket application receives Messages?

    For example, here's a Html 5 Websocket:

    http://html5demos.com/Web-socket  That runs on that server for Node.js: ws://node.remysharp.com:8001

    Now I want a Java client side? How can I achieve this?

    Moreover, my main go is for users to post messages of the web and goto the smartphone blackberry with this application.

    Looking forward to your helpful answers

    Hamid Weiss

    It is quite easy to create a socket to listen:
    "socket: / /: 79 sets a socket server incoming on port 79.
    See http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/7.1.0api/javax/microedition/io/ServerSocketConnection.html

    However, you should be aware that a mobile device is not directly accessible (except wireless) because they do not receive a public ip address on a wireless (keyword NAT).

    to resolve this issue it is support to push.
    See http://docs.blackberry.com/en/developers/subcategories/?userType=21&category=Push+Service
    (the link below goes to the 7.1 API for java bb).

    If you are new to development, you should think about the new platform bb10 so when you expand.

    Here is an article that will help you:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/different-ways-to-listen-for-SMS-messages/TA...

    Unfortunately, this is the easy bit.  The hard bit is creating the application and have it run in a background Thread.

    For this, I recommend study you the samples provided and understand how they work.  The website is also a good source of material and explanations, as of course is this forum.

    You might find this useful too:

  • Can't stand z10 BlackBerry applications JAVA MIDP 2.1?

    Hello

    I would like to know whether or not the new Z10 BlackBerry device supports JAVA MIDP applications.

    When I checked GSM ARENA for the specification of phone, I could see that it supports JAVA MIDP 2.1 apps. I need to confirm, because I am also a developer of BlackBerry by profession. So this might help me to develop applications in JAVA - programming language that I like the most.

    Any information on this matter is highly appreciated.

    Thank you much in advance.

    Brahim Salim

    the Z10 does not support java applications.

    with the exception of android applications that can be run in a runtime (but have not access to many API).

    I moved to + native waterfalls, so big c ++, made a little easier by Qt, which is much more similar to java by structure. It took me about 2-3 months to get productive with it (while developing java applications, it is so much shorter if you invest more time).

  • How to display any type of file by invoking the native blackberry application?

    Hi all

    I want to apply that store the file name with filepath. When I click on that this file must be opened with application native blackberry.

    For an example, I have a file which is testword.doc and it stores in my memory card. I show this file on the button name. When I click on who touches this doc must be opened in the blackberry application...

    Will you please help me, how to open this file in blackberry native Application?

    Thank you in advance

    Neeraj Chauhan

    You can use the api for that call. Here is a code:

    Invocation of the invocation = new Invocation (fileUri);
    invocation.setAction (ContentHandler.ACTION_OPEN);
    The Registry = Registry.getRegistry (getClass () .getName ());
    Registry.Invoke (invocation);

    You can probably find a few samples, recently saw an article about it.

  • How to get the active screen of the BlackBerry application?

    Hello

    I'm trying to get the active screen of the BlackBerry application, for example the home menu.

    I tried to use the screen ActiveScreen = getUiEngine () .getActiveScreen () in my code, but found error during execution.

    I know that this is because the getActiveScreen() method applies only for screens created by this application.

    So is there a way to capture the screen of the other application, for example the mail filter BlcackBerry?

    Thank you.

    Not wanting to not to repeat me, but there is no general way to get access to the Screen of another application object, unless you are on good terms with this application - which basically means that you have access to the instance UiApplication.  You cannot ask the operating system to get that to you, you must have a way to get you.  Which implies execution of something in the context of the Application.

    Even in this case, you may not be able to do what you want.  You will probably need to iterate over the screen and content managers and find the field you want, and even if it covers anything you understand (like BasicEditField) it still cannot handle standard things like setText in a way that is useful to you.  And you might not find fields you recognize, if you access a browser screen, I think you'll find there \are RIM not standard fields in there, so there is nothing you can interact from a standard application of the RIM.

    If you want to do this kind of treatment in General, that will deal with in a number of applications, you should watch event Injection.

    There may be other options for specific applications.  For example, you can simulate of electronic mail by writing a program that sends an email, rather than interact with the BlackBerry.  Or for the same application, if you try to test the headphones, then the listener has access to the UiApplication.  Aye, we be able to help you find approaches less General in some places, if we understand what you're trying to do.  This is the reason for the specific question that I asked in my last post.

    Regarding your second question

    "Another question is, can two separate applications of myself interaction by the user interface?

    For example, to call app2. ButtonField.click () or something. »

    It is in fact just an extension to your first question.  The difference is that you will find the UiApplication associated if both applications are on good terms, in fact you can "spend" the UiApplication via a Global event.  Once you have the UiApplication, you can use

    .invokeLater (...)

    to run the user interface code in the other Application.

    But I look at injector event because I think it might be a more general solution.

  • Wireless communication with Java Desktop Application

    Hello

    I develop a Blackberry application that needs to communicate (sync) with an exisiting Java desktop application via a WiFi network. I leaned on the use of JSON to manage communication between the two messaging applications, but I don't know how to make the initial connection (i.e. taken?). I hope someone can point me in the right direction?

    Thank you.

    Simon is right, that part will need to say to each other to find (i.e. its IP address).

    Given that you have that, then you must have a treatment on your PC that can handle receiving queries from the BB and/or pushing requests for BB.  Usually BB will use with a Web server http communication.  In this case, I'm guessing you want to run a full Web server, in which case a socket connection seems the best option - so the BB would talk directly to your client application.  He is, provided with the tool, you have a SocketDemo which will be probably the largest part of the coding that you need.  Then take a look at this.

  • How to find if the installed applications are third-party or core

    Hi, expert,

    We know how we know if an application is third-party or core. The Group of code module class: http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/5.0.0api/net/rim/device/api/system/CodeModuleGroup.html, there is really no such api for this information. I did some research on the internet as well and did not really find any useful information. I guess we could use information from the seller to filter out, but it could be source of errors.

    We need this information mainly for 2: reports of third-party applications to our backend, and implementation of the custom method of wiping.

    Since there is no api standard wipe, we intend to do that, to this post: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/Is-their-is-some-method-to-wipe-the-device-u... where he says "we have sought such a solution too." We ended up remove all PIM items, then delete all the contents of the memory of the device and remove all applications as a final step. " However by removing all of the applications, this would make the phone unusable that would kill the phone rather than wipe the phone.  We only delete the third-party applications.

    6.0 device os, it displays as a base application or third party, so it seems that this OS has this information. Not sure how we could use java api to do it well.

    GroupType as system seems a good indicator, if the application is preloaded on device or not including (Basic application of RIM) and enterprise application. We decided to check based on that.

    Welcome to the BlackBerry Java forum.

    I assume that you got a pot that will interface between Java and postgre, except if it has been written specifically FRO BlackBerry devices, then it will not work on BlackBerry unfortunately.  The code that I suspect you've got will only work on Java SE environments, not Java ME.

    The usual solution to this kind of problem is to write a middleware application, that supports http requests from BlackBerry converts it to the required SQL, executes the SQL, then the data for transmission back to the Blackberry formats.  This kind of solution is required for all databases, unless you buy a middle ware product that has already been built - and the only one that I have a conscience is the Sybase offers to iSQLAnywhere.    You will find other peoples comments if you search in the forum, I suggest you search for "SQL Server".

    Good luck.
