• How would you like to reproduce this text effect?

  I saw this beautiful effect and would like to know the best way to create more or less exactly as seen in the picture as an attachment. I had started to make a few pieces of model with the idea of using the pathfinder for each section, so realistic it would take hours to do it properly.

  If only doing so in Illustrator, I couldn't imagine an exact representation with anything other than G-mesh. Other methods can get something similar, but not exactly accurate.

  Here you go... Just blindly follow these steps and you're done.
  (1) create a command prompt of the year with variable presentation as pv_year

  (2) create a report saying report Mid year with selected 3 times column
  -Put a filter of pv_year presentation on the first column of the year with a default variable tell @{pv_year} {2008}
  -Rename the second time column say YEAR + 1 and change the fx to CAST (TIME_DIM. ("' YEAR ' AS INT) + 1
  -Rename the second time column say YEAR-1 and change the fx to CAST (TIME_DIM. ("' YEAR ' AS INT)-1
  Now when you run the report environment, this will give you a records whose value as 2008-2009-2007

  (3) create your main report with criteria such as pass year and measure
  -Change the fx for column year as CAST (TIME_DIM. ("' YEAR ' AS INT)
  -Now to put a filter on the year column with filter based on the results of another application and select them:
  Relationship = superior or equal to one
  Registered request = browse mi report
  Use the values of column = YEAR-1
  -Again, put a filter on the year column with filter based on the results of another application and select them:
  Relationship = less than or equal to one
  Registered request report Mid = browse (incase it does not select and select any other application first, then report Mid)
  Use the values of column = YEAR + 1

  This will select year > = 2007 AND year< =="" 2009.="" hence="" the="" results="" will="" be="" for="" year="">

• Which platform would be best suited for this application?

  What I am developing is a multiplayer game that resembles sites like pogo.com or games yahoo where it is multiplayer with separate rooms and each of these information shared rooms, but not between them. Of course, it will also need to access database.   Flash Remoting allows your clients Flash or FMS server communicate with the remote application server as J2EE or Cold Fusion. Your client platform didn't need to run Java to use Flash Remoting, but the remote application server is of course if you choose to connect to a server such as Tomcat or WebSphere J2EE.

  FMS, on the other hand, is an Adobe server application that can accept connections from clients Flash via RTMP protocol. It can run the game logic side server but it cannot connect directly with a database and so you need Flash Remoting of anyway, or XML sockets (see below) to act as an intermediary for database queries. In addition, FMS includes only ActionScript 1.0.

  A 3rd and maybe the best solution is to use the XMLSocket class in your Flash client to communicate with your game server. The game server can then be written in the language of your choice and can therefore speak directly with a database if you wish.

  I used the 3rd approach to write a chat client Flash which uses XMLSockets to connect with a chat server written in Java.

  I'm curious to know if there is a fairly simple to create the effect seen in this image. I want to talk about the pixelation effect composed of many small red boxes of different shades to the upper part of the image.

  I was thinking of real-time zoom close to an image in photoshop and make a screenshot, but I'd rather have a vector image which can easily spend in size and easy to change the color of different colors.

  Something like this can be done in illustrator without building a box at a time?

• How would you recreate this with Pathfinder?

  A few days ago I played with the Pathfinder and created this form. I rather like the look of it and I wanted to go back and make some adjustments, but I can't for the life of understand me what combination of options Pathfinder I used to achieve this. (NOTE: the Green object is a flat single unique object, it's the main thing I'm trying to recreate, only one path unified line.)

  

  Initially, I created the object by taking a rounded rectangle with a stroke and turning and copy around a central point, then adding a circle on top of everything. I've expanded the forms so I with separate paths for the race and the main rectangle shape. I remember using only a few clicks of Pathfinder, it wasn't the cleanest work because I had to use Simplify to remove a lot of redundant points, but it was pretty quick.

  

  Because of the way that all rectangles are superimposed on top of the other, no matter what I do I can't seem to replicate properly. Each end product ends up looking like this in one way or another. Only, I can't figure out what I did to get this unified Greenway that retains the appearance of rectangle in layers around the edges.

  

  Any of you have an idea on how I could do to recreate this object? Or curvilinear unifier of several forms of layers?
