I CAN'T FIND ANYWHERE THE CODECS VIDEO THAT THE 21 HP SLATE IS SUPPOSED TO SUPPORT. WHEN I BRANCH II DISC MY WD HARD IT SHOWS ALL THE FILES BUT WILL PLAY ONLY BLU RAY MOVIES SMT2S AND WHEN HE PLAYS IT NOT Y HAS NO SOUND OR SCRATCHING A SOUND HIGH. ALL THE OTHER FILES ARE VOB TS THAT WILL PLAY ON EVERY OTHER DEVICE IVE TRIED. I'LL MENTION THERE IS A MOVIE CALLED HELIO ONE MEXICAN WHO WAS PLAYING PERFECTLY > IF YOU CAN HELP ME I WOULD BE MORE THAN GRATEFUL > EITHER BY THE WAY, I'M 68 YEARS OLD AND NOT A PC TECHNOLOGY. I understand that looking for information on the supported video files and codecs for the Tablet Slate 21.
According to the user's Guide , the information on the 'list of HP codec' or the NVIDIA "Tegra Board Support Package for Android 17r14 Release Software Feature List".
I searched the Web for these two and could not find one of them. I was able to find the developer's guide that lists the codecs are supported by the Android operating system. You can see here: supported Media Formats.
To summarize the document here are the supported video codecs:
H.263 encoders and decoders for 3GPP (.3gp) and MPEG-4 (.mp4)
H.264 AVC encoders and decoders for 3GPP (.3gp), MPEG-4 (.mp4), MPEG-TS (.ts, AAC Audio only
MPEG-4 SP decoders for 3GPP (.3gp)
VP8 encoders and decoders for WebM (.webm) and Matroska (.mkv)
Stock video player may not support these formats, but there are other players available to game Google store.
