HP 50 g: function Division - grrr

In College, I used the 48gx and loved. I have two HP 50g calculators. I use RPN mode. If I do the following > > 5 enter 8 then enter the symbol of the division, I get two results - one is:, 625 is the other 5/8, that is, it does not work the calculation. I have 2 questions:

(1) how can I get the 5/8 to return a vs decimial 5/8

(2) is it possible to get an extension before the result instead of a comma?

Thank you

Jay

Hi!, jayats:

Welcome to Forum!

You can change the comma with a period, with...

(H) MODE, key. Then, find _FM. move, keyed directional (plate), the bar. If check, uncheck the box, with the F2 and button F6 (OK), or too, + /-key and F6 (OK).

Now, you should write, in the battery...

1. 5 (SPC) 8 /... 625

For fractions, press F4 (CASE) MODE, find about calculations and uncheck or put on 105 FLAG in exact Mode. Now, FASHION FLAGS uncheck 03 FLAG.

Now, you should write, in the battery...

1. 5 (SPC) 8 /... 5/8

IMHO, you need read carefully, guide the user, available, of... http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-50g-graphing-calculator/3235173/model/3235174/manuals/

  • Organization of document class?

    Hi team,

    I use a document class for a project to keep away the main timeline code - the only problem, it is now my document class is currently running at nearly 2,000 lines of code and becomes unwieldy to scroll and find stuff. Is there a way I can better organize this? Or should I be building in a different way?

    I don't really know very about how the classes actually work. I had this working document class, but it's as good as it gets. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    see you soon

    Void

    When you are thousands of lines of code, there is not a lot you can do to avoid having to scroll through it to find things, you can do things to reduce the amount of scrolling necessary.

    What you could do is to go through the code and organize it into functional sections. To help the need to scroll to find things, you can use keywords in the form of comments in combination with the search tool (the magnifying glass in the toolbar) and use it to access the sections.

    You could probably break down everything in separate class files, but then it might be more difficult to handle that you must remember what file you will have to look for different things. However, for the major functional divisions, this can be useful.

  • getElementsByTagName("input").value); Returns the undefined value

    Help, please! The API DW getElementsByTagName() function returns no value.

    But how to find the extension form input field so that I can pre-populate it with the label?

    Alert (document.getElementById("Alabel"). (Name) function undefined, grrr
    Alert (document. GetElementsByTagName("Input").value); returns undefined-> This is the function I want to use
    Alert (document.hasChildNodes ()); Returns true, then the DOM document is readable

    Alert (document. Forms.Length); Returns the value 1
    Alert (document. Forms.childNodes.Length); has no childNodes property
    }
    }

    Thank you!

    getElementsByTagName() returns an ARRAY - so you can not use a point
    operator about it as you have. You have to do, for example:

    getElementsByTagName ('INPUT') [0] .value etc.

  • Why the "multiply" and "division" functions are symbolized as well: * and / respectively.

    Why they have been modified by their traditional symbols that have been used for centuries and are universally accepted?

    The standard computer keyboard is derived from the keyboard terminal teletype, which is in turn derived from a standard typewriter keyboard that did not have these two mathematical operators.

    The basic ASCII code set has them nor even if it does not include the more obscure characters like tilde ~ and the hose. characters. Maybe it's partly because computer simply math multiply and divide operators do not exist, either because they exist not on the keyboard, how do you type them.

    Once computers started being used in anger operators were necessary but ASCII and keyboards were well defined, an alternative was developed.

  • Function numbers for dynamically on average over the last 30 cells

    I am a trader and I have several months of data. I currently have a percentage of the sum of all the victories and defeats by currency pair. I want to create a function that retrieves the last 30 cells of data and creates a percentage I can compare it to the percentage of total victory.

    The cells are empty, unless I have add data in either to the upper or lower row. 1 win and - 1 are losses. 0 means not configured.

    Here's a full month with 20 data cells (cells max per month are 22) of trading days:

    This is the current month:

    I have 16 months of data with percentages of victory for all my data. As you see, I also have winning monthly winning percentages easily in the examples above (with a small division). I really, really want to compile data from the last 30 cells with data to create a winning percentage. It would be necessary to sometimes include 3 different lines of different months of data to create 30 cells with a number inside.

    A friend used the COUNTIF command but I do not have it works for me.

    If there is a different website to request this detail of the question please share that too.

    Hi Braddon,

    It would be a pretty easy task if the data to be summed up in two columns from a single table and had no gaps, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

    Screenshots of two isolated sets of cells containing two rows (railway of) the data to be summarized, but give no indication where these data will be found in the document does not provide sufficient information to start to find a solution.

    Where are the data stored? You say "data for each month." "Every month" is recorded on another table?... on a pair of rows of the same table different?

    In the image (very vague) I, the factors of complications will gather data from a subset of continually changing several tables on multiple sheets and which specific cell contains the 30 most recent reference and is the one to start the harvest.

    While a few details and clarifications.

    Kind regards

  • First - Division of polynomial

    Quick questions, hoping someone can explain.

    Hi, Paul!

    Functions of the polynomial division:

    quot - quotient only.

    REM - rest only.

    quorem - the quotient and the remainder.

    Hope that helps!

  • Functions will not take "/" character

    When you enter a slash ' / ' in a 'numbers' function inserts a symbol of the division instead of a " / ". I have not yet restarted the Mac but will soon.

    Someone run forward, the forward slash works very well when you type like a character in a cell.

    This problem occurs during the 10.10.5, numbers 3.6.1

    I have no problem with this problem on my MBP with 10.8.5, numbers 2.3

    I also discovered that the copy of a good text date as 01/05/16 in a formula gives exactly the same result. It changes the "/" to a symbol of division.

  • Division by zero weird problem on HP 8200 Elite SFF

    Greetings,

    I posted my message here, it appears now that my problem is hardware specific. My machine has the following specifications:

    HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF
    Intel Core i5-2500 Duo @3.3 GHz processor
    8 GB memory

    Windows 7 x 64

    (I can provide more details if necessary)

    This has been me puzzled for more than a week now!

    We have an application where we lack in a division by zero. That request is deliberately built to raise exceptions in this case, with a call to the function _controlfp_s for edit masks on floating point exceptions.

    Now, when you run in a division by zero pretty much all of our machines, Visual Studio 2005 debugger breaks in the right place in our source files. However, on this machine, the location of the break is in every sense and seems to be unrelated to the real cause of the failure. So as a test, I built a simple win32 C program with just the following lines of code:

    int main (int argc, char * argv [])
    {
    float temp1, temp2, temp3;
    unsigned int control;

    _controlfp_s (& control, _EM_UNDERFLOW + _EM_INEXACT, _MCW_EM);

    Temp1 = 1.0;
    Temp2 = 0.0;
    Temp3 = temp1/temp2;

    return 0;
    }

    On all these 'good' machines, the code breaks when the temp3. Among the other machines tested successfully, I had various hardware and operating systems, including Server 2008 R2, Windows XP x 32 and Windows 7 Pro x 64. However, on this machine, the code stops at:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\crt\src\tidtable.c

    function:

    __set_flsgetvalue()

    In reviewing the records I have change the assembler code, everything seems fine until I hit the "ptsps" statement... then all records seem to be messed up (vs research as expected on a good machine). When comparing the stack on the good vs. bad, I also see entries of pile on the wrong machine, I don't see a good...

    Now... Here's what I did to solve problems:
    1. a disc image of the original disc HP on a hot spare and the original picture restored.
    2. only installed Visual Studio 2005 Pro - portion of C++.
    3 - tested above, code has always failed.

    4 - update all service packs Windows and tested above code. Failed.

    5 - update all service packs, the Studio 2005 and tested above code. Failed.

    6 uninstalling all the bloatware and tested above code. Failed.

    7 - updating the BIOS and firmware and tested above code. Failed.

    8. install Visual Studio 2010 and tested above code. Failed.

    Then... I decided to take my spare disk image and install it on a similar, but a little older HP computer that we have, which has the following specifications:

    HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF
    Intel Core Duo E8400 #3 GHz
    4 GB memory

    I went through the process of installation very well, even though she used the typewriter 8200 recovery partition. On this machine, I simply installed the operating system and Visual Studio 2005 Pro - portion of C++. No service packs not whatsoever (even if the Studio 2005 requires an update for 'vista') and the code worked as expected!

    So, that leaves me about almost everything but the material! Also note that I tried to disable several processors and all optimization of the BIOS on the 8200, without success.

    I don't see anything else I can try... Please help!

    Wow!

    After the posting of this message to a friend... He found a document showing very similar symptoms on some of their CPUs from intel... I then found the exact document who applied to our specific processor (intel i5-2500) here:

    http://www.Intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/specification-updates/2nd-Gen-core-desktop-specification-update.PDF

    See Erratum BJ1

    This article describes pretty much exactly what I run into! (Seriously), I never thought this would be a problem at THIS level!

  • Divisions of the auto and Auto precision in graphs

    Hi all

    Just a question about the functioning of divisions and accuracy on a line graph when the value VAL_AUTO. I know what is happening on the scale when it is done automatically, but what is the basis of precision auto and auto divisions? There are default values? I tried to search it in the ICB help with no luck.

    Thank you

    Judy

    Hi Judy,.

    Basically auto settings mean only that the CVI will try to pick what he thinks are the best settings for the divisions and accuracy. The axis of the graph will display divisions as much as possible without the numbers being too cramped together. The number of divisions is calculated first, then we Auto-precision. First, we check to see how accurate would be necessary between divisions because the divisions are all equidistant. If 0 is necessary (i.e. divisions are numbers integers apart) then we look at the values min and max of the axis and determine who requires as accurate. There is a fuzzy logic too involved to ensure that values such as 1/3 show that the 0.3333333333333333333 or something stupid.

    There are no default values such as these are calculated on the fly, based on the size of the chart and the min and max values of it.

  • CVI division by zero defects

    Hello

    I use NI LabWindows CVI 2012.

    I have a piece very simple code:

    Double a = 4/0;

    This piece of code, I would like to return NaN, or at least do something that isn't to stop the execution on the compilation. "Is there a way to turn NaN handling functionality or add an exception for the compiler that said: if division by zero is found, returns zero" or something?

    Here, any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hello

    It's probably doing an entire division and then by converting the result in duplicate. Division by zero with an integer will crash your application. I would try this:

    Double a = 4.0/0,0;

    If adding le.0 in the end tells the compiler that it is a floating point type, where division by zero is not as bad. Moreover,.

    Double;

    a = NotANumber ();

    Can also do what you want. If you want to check for NaN you can do something like this:

    If (IsNotANumber (a))

    a = 0.0;

  • Optimize query with function in where clause

    Hello

    I have a query like this:

    SELECT * FROM table_1 t
    WHERE
    (
    -- Clause A (very long clause that filters a lot of rows)
    )
    AND f(t.field) = 'Y' -- This function is heavy but it should filter few rows

    This query, it is very slow because I think he's trying to evaluate f() for all rows in table_1.

    Howerver, if I have database query:

    SELECT f(t.field) FROM table_1 t
    WHERE
    (
    -- very long clause that filters a lot of rows
    )

    It's very fast.

    How can I reference the query to filter the lines of division A, then by function?

    Thanks in advance!

    If you wrap the function in a select clause then the optimizer can use a scalar subquery caching:

    SELECT * FROM table_1 t

    WHERE ( -- Clause A (very long clause that filters a lot of rows) )

    AND (Select f(t.field) From Dual) = 'Y' -- This function is heavy but it should filter few rows
