  I have a new spectrum x 360 (edition i7). I turned on the startup password in the BIOS and now (like your other models of laptop, it seems) we hear a beep very hard to start. I need the BIOS password for security reasons.

  I am running the BIOS that came with the machine (F.04) and there is currently no update the BIOS on your support page.

  I ask you if you can please provide a version of BIOS that allows the option disable the loud beep (or one that eliminates it entirely). I wouldn't return this laptop also easily avoidable problem.

  tomorrow I update the BIOS to the version the most recent (2.58), after this operation, my laptop cannot start: by pressing the power-on button displays only a black screen and the market led...

  I have tried everything I can do to make it work, I was ready to call for a repair under warranty support, when I tried to remove the extra 4 GB RAM: whitout it my laptop starts fine... I try to replace the module with an another 4 GB, which is new, but without success.

  So, after updating the bios I can use my laptop but without the additional RAM modules installed... obiuvsly, it works fine before.

  Is a defective motherboard\memory slot or there is something that I can check? I need at least 8 GB for my work...

  Unfortunately, no one here can help you with this. BIOS password is very important security feature, and it cannot be resolved in some public forums.
  This can be solved with only authorized service.

  Response code can be given only by Toshiba and they don't give it to anyone. Authorized service provider can only get it after checking if the laptop has not been stolen.
  Contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and they can help you wth this.

  Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or EliteBook have more strict security consumption patterns - they do not produce "stop codes", the password cannot be derived from the serial number and the code is stored in a nonvolatile memory to remove the RTC cell does not reset the password in this case.

  If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a file custom SMC.bin that you can use to reset the password at startup.

  I forgot my BIOS password. I tried to do everything to introduce some default passwords like "toshiba" "phoenix" pressing the left SHIFT key while booting to disassemble my laptop and find my BIOS battery to remove it.

  Default password doesn't exist and there is no magic default password that can remove existing. Remove the BIOS battery will not help at all. It will not work on laptops, then forget.

  BIOS password can be removed in ASP only if the closest contact with ASP and they will help you.
  Theory with rider is also not correct because the BIOS removal procedure is not the same for each laptop model.

  Sorry, but ASP is your only way to remove the BIOS password.
