HP c4580 won't connect wireless

I have a C4580 that worked very well in wireless for about a year.  We went from internet providers and the installation of the new provider they took down our old wireless router.

The printer was not working, I knew that it would not because it has been configured for the old settings of the router and I changed the router's new settings to match.

I started to work to update the settings of the printer wireless, but trying to reinstall the drivers on my computer it tells me that the printer "does not support wireless networks.  At this point the printer buttons also stop working.  I can't disable the printer without unpluging it and none of the buttons on the front of work, with the exception of the right when I start it.  They will work in the first minute of operation more or less but do nothing after that.  If I plug in the USB cable on my PC the printer downstairs works (even if the buttons don't) However, can't do the wireless aspect to work at all.

I've reconfigured my network to plug my old wireless router to see if it works with her again but it will not.  All advice is appreciated.

OK, first of all we will reset the printer.  Turn it off, unplug it from the back of the printer (not the wall), wait 30 seconds and plug back in and turn it on.

Now, let's reset the network settings.

1. press the button wireless on the product.

2. press the button next to the arrow down on the screen until restore network

Default is highlighted and press OK.

3 confirm that you want to restore the default settings of the network.

I would recommend that you do NOT have two wireless routers attached unless you are fairly knowledgeable about wireless networks.  It can get messy and complicated.

Try this and let me know how it goes.

    Hi Roger,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the issue you are unable to connect wirelessly because there do not recognize the DNS server. Method 1

  • All-in-one Deskjet 2540 fails to connect wireless

This printer worked fine without thread until I installed a new (AT & T U-Verse) Internet connection.  Previously, I had a combination router/DSL that had wireless 2 sources (hi and lo Band).  The printer connected to a wireless network with the SSID of "Rooter" (stupid name, but what the heck).

When the modem/router has been replaced by the unit of AT & T, I lost a wireless sender (Rooter) so I tried to change the printer another point of wireless access on my local network named "FBI_Van" (another stupid name).  To do this, I used my cell phone which, at the time, was very well connected to FBI_Van.  I loaded the drivers from the printer to the laptop, connected the USB cable and began to install the printer for the new wireless connection.

Efforts to do this have failed.  In the window "Select one of the available wireless networks" (after using the link "Convert a USB port connected wireless"), I could see my access point 'FBI_Van' very well.  By clicking on the button "use this connection", asked me to enter password WPA_PSK expression, I did.  It's the same EXACT sentence I used to connect wireless laptop.  The green progress bar went to halfway and then I got the error:

"Cannot locate the SSID that you entered, try again".  I won't be an SSID, I entered a password that the requested software.

First of all, I was not one who entered the SSID - this is the software that "judge" and I just clicked it.  Second, the password was perfect without error letter.

Whne I run the wireless network Test results, using the printer itself (button wireless & B & W Print) he told me that the printer has been tirelessly "Rooter" looking for (and not finding).  The blue wireless LED blinking and the "signal strength" LCD is forced.

So, after this long explanation of events, what can I do to make this printer to accept a new SSID access?

Is there a way to reset the printer to "factory delivered" settings so I can start over?

    Bill

To answer my own question.  Is there a way to reset the part of the printer wireless.  It is NOT mentioned in the manual, but here's how do:

When the printer is on, stop the LED flashing wireless by turning off the wireless.

Hold the button cancel (the big red 'X') and the wireless button at the same time.

Wait about 10 seconds until the power light flashes once.

Go to the computer that you have installed the printer software on and go down the menu to "Printer Setup and software" and click on that

Press the radio for wireless configuration MANUAL (do not push the button 'connect to the router')

Follow the screens to select the wireless network you want, click Next

The password for the connection of input and let the software connect the printer to the network.

It MUST work, if not, repeat the operation (I got two times)

  • Laptop will NOT connect wireless, my drivers ARE up to date

My Windows Vista laptop, USED to connect to my router wireless very well. Now it won't, it doesn't even recognize that a network is available. I looked for answers and have updated all my drivers on windows suggested and still not connect wireless. My blackberry to connect to my router very well... Help, please!

    Hello

Turn off the router and the Modem - wait 3 minutes and reverse. Restart the computer.

Some systems have a power switch on the front or side. If a laptp or a PC that uses embedded
WiFi check/configuration settings (BIOS/CMOS) as you start - often F2 then warning screen - select-
boar without wireless/WiFi. If the PC of a kitchen separated and system maps turned OFF and try to remove and
replacement of the card - in fact remove - do not just tight.

A manual update or re - stall your drivers by using these methods, do not use only the driver update as
You must refresh the batteries of any driver.

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon. Use a wire or download drivers
on another computer and use removable media to transfer to your system.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

    any help please.

    Hello

Thanks for posting questions in the Microsoft Community. It seems that the computer does not connect to a wireless printer.

In addition to answering these questions that would help us provide a better solution:

    1. what exactly happens when you try to connect to a wireless printer?

2 have been updated printer drivers?

    3. were there any changes made to the computer before the question?

    Try these methods and check:

    Method 1:

If your computer has problems printing, try using the printer Troubleshooter to solve the problem. He made sure that a printer is connected to your computer, and it checks for common issues such as whether the printer has enough paper and toner to complete printing your document.

    Open the printer Troubleshooter

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-printer-Troubleshooter

    Method 2:

Try installing the latest drivers from the site Web of Brother MFC-665CW. Use this link:

  • Unable to connect wireless on Satellite L300D-13 s

Bought this new laptop Satellite L300D-13 s
The wireless doesn't seem to work, are the switch and the light and the device manager says theres nothing wrong with my hub driver seems to work very well with my laptop more old etc so I think as my hubs ok. Is it a commen problem?

Its a BT home Hub so this is useful and if I use the cable between the hub and the laptop it works very well and connects to the top with a problem, please help

    Hello

The laptop supports Realtek 802.11 wireless network card b/g, but it has not been equipped with BT module.
So if you want to connect wireless you must first activate the WLan on your laptop computer (WLan switch on IT and FN + F8).
Then it must be set up correctly using the right SSID, wireless encryption, Mac address, etc.
Also make sure that your router supports standard WLan even as the WLan card.

  • Office Jet 4620: Connect wireless printer without USB cable

I have a desktop HP 4620 jet.  He was hanging in my old router.  When I tried to join software router again asked me to use a USB cord.  I do not have a such cord for this printer and want to set using the wireless, but sofeward me continues to send at the option of the cable.  The router is ATT U-verse.  I need step by step instructions on how to connect the wireless printer.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

HP Auto Wireless automatically sets the printer without connecting it to a USB port, only if your computer is also connected wireless to the network. If your PC does not have wireless connectivity USB cable would be necessary, except if your router supports WPS.

If your PC is connected wireless to the router, restore the pritner as follows:

    1. Click on the WiFi the printer button and select restore network settings, confirm and invites.
    2. Click on the Setup (wrench) and select Tools, then restore the default settings and confirm any command prompt.
    3. Turn the printer off and turn it back on
    4. Open the HP Officejet 4620 software and follow the instructions to connect a wireless printer.

Another option would be the WPS Pin Code or button WPS, if your router supports supported such a, tap the icon on the printer wireless and select WPS or Wireless protected Setup, follow the steps on the screen, press the button of your router or a PIN code, see the documentation for your router to check the capabilities of WPS.

If none apply to your PC printer or yout, use a wireless computer connected or get a USB cable for the installation of hht, so a cable was supplied with the printer.

    Kind regards
