HP client security

Hello

I want to uninstall Hp client security from my laptop, but when I try to uninstall it, I got an error "Disable Drive encryption security manager Hp... How can I disable it from Hp Security Manager... ??? Help, please

Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome aboard!

There are some things you SHOULD do before you uninstall HP Client Security, as it is defined in many programs and features, but HP Client Security is the control center.

HP Client Security often comes in combination with the HP drive encryption software.

If your drive is currently encrypted by this software, you must first open HP Client Security-> click on the safety car and follow the on-screen instructions to DECRYPT the disk. Note that this is usually slow process and may take several hours or more depending on whether you are the amount of your drive HARD and your specifications.

You can also check if you pre-seed (PBA) authentication is enabled. Open the HP Client Security home page-> click the settings button-> safety devices wheel and check there is no check mark next to the authentication market

Regarding security customer HP and HP Drive Encryption, here are a few screenshots with regard to these suggestions > >

Please, let me know how it goes and if that helps!

  • Question of rescue and recovery, and Client Security solution

I have a thinkpad edge e220s for home use and I am trying to understand that these two thinkvantage tools will be of no use to me since I'm not on a corporate network or whatever it is (all marketing materials HE mentions admins etc.).

Is the rescue and recovery just a backup solution with imaging of disk (as ghost)? I use a drobo for all my data storage, so I am not too concerned about backups as the drobo offers redundancy in the event of disk failure. The laptop has a SSD which doesn't have a lot of capacity if I don't want unnecessary tools that will have a lot of space. However if the rescue and recovery offers really useful features then I might consider its installation (and not using the backup feature). I could not make out what marketing materials meant by the solution of a single button for viruses and crashes.

Second, the client security solution features other than Vault/Manager password on my model? I'm already using the beta version of the new (4) version of password manager which is autonomous and requires no client security solution. Again once the marketing material does not help a user at home like me understand very well.

    Any help will be appreciated!

Based on your description I don't think rescue & recovery or Client Security Solution any value for you.

I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 64 - bit on my computer HP ZBook Workstation 17 G2 Portable under 64-bit Windows 7 and HP Client Security, but it did not work. I think the HP Client Security prevents the installation of window 10. How can I solve this problem? I have 6 days to update free of charge. Help!

HP customer security is not compatible with Windows 10. Windows 10 has its own security and will not another security program runs on Windows 10. Uninstall the HP CS program before the upgrade. Or simply do not update.

  • Profile of lost user and Client Security Solution requires a non-existent password

    X 61 Tablet Vista Business SP1

Client Security Solution (application of Lenovo) request since yesterday for me to enter my Windows password with a dialogue I've ever seen before. Correctly, it says my user name and displays a dialogue bubble flashing over a symbolic representation of a keyboard. I get my Windows password (the one I use when finger print recognition is disown me), but he claims that it is inadmissible. All the other passwords I use do not work either. I don't think I've never changed the password of windows, but the dialogue tells me that I recently changed my password.

There's that one profile user on the machine, but all the applications do not know me. Firefox is not my profile. Skype has lost my groups. Thunderbird has lost all my mail working! Palm Desktop threw all my notes and my tasks but strangely still has my address book! It as if my user ID has been changed / lost / deleted. The desktop icons are normal, and I am logged in as myself. There are no other users. I'm on a home office network.

I've been on the road for four weeks so my full backup image is old surprise. I have a daily backup to Amazon S3, of documents, but not something that helps to restore this problem whataver is necessarily. I could try to roll back to a control point.

What file / fiction is likely to cause loss of the symptom of identity? Uninstalling Client Security Solution will fix the problem? I don't really know what role Client Security Solution has. For the moment, I lost several weeks of notes in the Palm Desktop application and am very concerned about the loss of my work email. Thunderbird and Skype can I reconfigure if required. Mail will take many hours to understand and reread / purge after that. At the minute, I can't read or write e-mail which is essential for me in the next 24 hours.

Everyone knows this? How did you solve this problem? I am very troubled by the loss of my workplace at a random time like that. How can I avoid this never happens again? The same problems would happen under XP?

Well, the problem was solved by uninstalling Client Security Solution and by restoring a series of files in backup profiles. In the restoration, including:

    Thunderbird prefs.js

    Sessionstore.js and Firefox prefs.js

    Skype config.xml

Fortunately, there was a daily automatic backup.

The root cause of the problem is not known, but these files are probably open at the time of a stop not done or unexpected shutdown has become so corrupt. There is no reason to think than in other more radical anthing happened as he preferring Local Roaming v. Roaming profiles seems to have always been used. There is no reason to believe that Client Security Solutions was anything other than an additional application that has been a victim of the event.

Restorring restored files features for applications. Probably Reinstalling Client Security Solutions that would restore but I don't plan to.

Roaming profiles is used in the original Lenovo Vista install maybe because it is Vista business and could be expected to be in a corporate environment where roaming profiles are more likely to be used.

  • HP Probook 450 G2: establishment of HP Client Security

    Hello

I recently bought a new HP Probook 450 G2.  The updated provider upgraded the operating system to Windows PRO 8.1.

I'm trying to implement the fingerprint reader, but I can't.  I read previous forums and have ensured that the following drivers are updated:

In the user's guide HP protect tool (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03704246.pdf) and the HP Client Security technical white paper (http://www.hp.com/united-states/campaigns/client-security/HPCS_whitepaper_Final_6_5.pdf) I read a while ago that HP Thin Client Security Setup Wizard.  Because the provider did the upgrade of Windows before you provide them with the laptop, I can only assume that they jump beyond this wizard.  I tried to find a way to get this system in place, but were unsuccessful.

Could someone please provide some guidance.  Keep in mind, it's a whole new machine.

    Thank you!

  • HP EliteBook 850 G1 - Win Pro - Computrace conflict with HP Client Security Manager 8.1 8.1

    Hello

I tried to install the software HP Computrace (International) SP64143 c. 8.3.0.5 (November 12, 2013) on my G1 of 850 EliteBook after upgrade to Win 8.1 Pro, but I get the following error:

"The security application can be installed up to what the HP Client Security Manager 8.1 is installed"

Please note that I do not installed the Hp Client Security Package Manager and some other similar programs appear to be installed.

What is this supposed to do? Give access to the function of Lojack (the new name Computrace)? I also wonder if it would be a relevant problem to activate the service of Absolute Software Lojack.

    Help, please... Thank you

Caramel thanks for pointing me in the right direction to achieve the final solution!

After a few experiences, it's my final conclusion: HP distributes two different service packs that have the same:

    • name SP64339.exe
    • version (8.3.1.1714 (November 20, 2013) and)
    • Description on the web page (HP Client Manager Security)

but * ILS DO NOT HAVE THE SAME CONTENT AND APPLICATIONS *. If access you the link you gave me:

#2: a Win 8.1 Pro system, the HP Server allow you to download a file that has:

    • No Description of file
    • File version: 4.0.100.1189
    • Size 90.6 MB
    • This corresponds to the HP SimplePass application created by Softex Inc., a very basic site password Program Manager.

Just after installation on the OS Win 8 Pro the CSM HP put implemented by Digital Persona Inc., I was also able to install the Computrace patch (SP64143.exe) smoothly. It is a distinct and different from the SP64339 SP and it allows to Absolute Software access to the features of the Intel anti-theft technology.

Please note that this give HP CSM access you the function of connection of fingerprints and others.

The problem that I saw earlier, it is that in Win 8.1 Pro is due to the fact that the SimplePass application does not support the Computrace agent. so I tried to install on my Elitebook with Win 8.1 Pro the SP64339 even system 850 downloaded previously using a HD different mounting an OS Win 8 Pro and... here, everything seems to install and works great even on Win 8.1 Pro.

    The main question are:

    1. why HP did end with the distribution of their security HP Client Manager?

2 what problems is I meet on Win 8.1 Pro with the Security HP Client Manager designed for Windows 8 Pro?

I suppose I could run into some problem if I change the pwd of my login, even if outllok.com... Web site it would generate a disallignment on the connection of access controlled, managed by the CSM from HP on my PC...

Thanks a lot again for your GREAT help!

  • Microsoft Forefront Client Security

My old laptop contains two security programs: Avast (free download) and Microsoft Forefront Client Security (it just appeared one day, do not know where it comes from). The MSFCS really weighs on my processor slowing the computer down a bit. Should I keep its operation as well as the Avast or else I am dumping. ? Until he found that according to me the Avast did a great job for me.

The problem with performance is due to two running time actual anti-virus (Avast and Forefront). You must remove one or the other. Forefront don't get out to the blue top and you must approve to install something, I guess, is that if you are part of the Organization, your business using Forefront and install it remotely, if this is the case, contact your IT Department.

  • recovery of preloaded HP Client Security Suite for 455 G1 laptop with fingerprint reader

Due to him having to replace the failed hard drive on the laptop, I had to use the support of recovery to re - install Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on the computer as well as all the drivers and other software that has been included on the recovery disks. However, I was not able to get the version of the HP Client Security software that is listed on the support page and downloads to install correctly. I was wondering if there was a link or a way to find another copy of the original version of HP Client Security that came pre-installed on the system. For more information, the number of product for my laptop is F2R65UT. Any help or assistance that can be granted on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

It is a follow-up to the above post about the G1 455 ProBook with fingerprint reader. Whenever I try to install the security software, it keeps giving me an error code (error code 101). This code requires the installer to roll back and does not allow the software to install. I don't know if this helps much to find a solution to the issue. Any help you can give me on this matter is greatly appreciated.

as he says, he must enter the BIOS and disable the TPM chip first. It was like data from the previous Windows user who is not the same as the new windows - probably new user and others.

When the computer reboots, you can click on the button ThinkVantage or F1 or F2 (I'm not sure) to enter the BIOS. Then find secure TPM option.

    Hi guys,.

I'm new to this forum... I live in India. I am owner of a Thinkpad X61s, and I must say it's a laptop absolutely amazing! Better than ever!

But I have a problem, I recently changed my password of Windows and after the reboot, a Client window security check open identity asking me the password and I entered the new password, and it shows the authentication failed! The password is correct and it works, but it still shows an error, even after restart and try it several times!

There is another thread about the problem in this forum. The solution proposed in the thread is as follows:

SAB--> Advanced Menu--> Reset security setting.

If you can access this menu (windows to "Verify the identity" you can NOT access this menu), test this option too.
