HP Compaq Elite 8200: Running a Radeon HD 5850 on a GPU card HP mother, 1495

I will stay at the home of a relative for the next few months, and I was wondering if it is possible to install my graphics card (Radeon HD 5850) on their pre-built HP computer. I won't be able to physically test the situation until it is too late to make my card more, so I wanted to check first.

The model number of the computer is XZ971UT #ABA, and his mother is a HP 1495. This Board has a PCI-E slot? Do I need any special driver to install an AMD GPU? And the card will physically fit in the case?

If you can answer any of these questions, it will be a great help. Thank you!

@_eternal, welcome to the forum.

Here is the computer Service and Maintenance Guide .  From the 43 Page is a list of supported video cards.

HP Small Form Factor computers require a low profile video card.  Here is an example of a card that is recommended for this.  In addition, I don't think that the power supply unit (PSU) in the computer either enough power to run if he would do.

  • Compaq elite 8200 memory upgrade challenges CMT

Tried to upgrade my memory in my Compaq Elite 8200 CMT, running Windows 7.

Bought this memory HP, HP 4 GB 240 - Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 Unbuffered 1333 (PC3 10600) system memory low voltage model 647907-B21 - who must have worked, but it did not.

HP technical support was not able to tell me why it doesn't work except to say that the 201 memory error means certainly was not compatible.

Finally, I went back to it and got for about the same price Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12 (3 x 4 GB) 240 - Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) memory Fund model 998770.

Then the same thing started to happen, and I went nuts, try to install 12 GB and get these 201 errors completely. Finally, I tried one in the first place and managed to do the work, so I knew they were good. Then I started to notice that with all of the modules that I inserted, it gives an error 201 memory initially, but it passes then the second time.

My feeling is almost it gives you this message after the first time after that any changes in the configuration of the memory and everything just it runs when you restart a second time in direct succession. It's like the first reboot is only for detection and error means nothing.

I couldn't find anything about it in the manual.

    Hello:

There is a problem with the BIOS.

Read the release notes for all of the BIOS releases because I do not remember that the error has been corrected.

The thing is my 8200 Elite CMT has the latest revision of the BIOS and I think I still have this error after upgrading memory up to 32 GB.

As you said, it's just a thing time and once I hit the F1 key after installing memory modules mine works fine.

And since I have maxed out the memory in the PC, I will not see this error.

This happens not when the pc is Windows 7 Profesional, any help appreciated.

Personally, I would keep this option unchecked to mitigate with computer after the flicker of the screen reproduce more. I understand that these services are redundant and unnecessary as a result of an upgrade to windows 10 from a previous version of Windows (ie. 7/8/8.1). I hope this helps.

  • HP Elite 8200 CMT: Bios Update after the update of Windows 10

Hello, I've updated my HP Elite 8200 CMT from windows 7 to windows 10.

In the HP driver download page, there is no updated BIOS for windows 10.

But I noticed that it is has updated BIOS for Windows 7.

The question is, can I use it on Windows 10?

And generally to load OS updates to the BIOS?

    Hello:

You can remove the base flash BACK of the package of BIOS file folder, simply copy the contents of the file flash BACK on a USB stick formatted with the FAT file system.

Plug in a USB flash drive, restart the PC, press the ESC key to get the options menu.

Select F10 system configuration to access the BIOS.

Select the file menu > control system ROM Flash.  Select the USB flash drive.

The PC will see the files on the flash drive.  Follow the instructions to update the BIOS screen.

In this way, it makes no difference what operating system you are running.

A very important point... I read the last 2.29 installing BIOS causes problems with the W10.

There is a post on the forum about who...

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/business-PCs-workstations-and-point-of-sale-systems/HP-Compaq-8200-elite-SFF-slow-reboot-time-in-legacy-BIOS/m-p/5654549#M12815

I use v2.28 on my HP 8200 Elite CMT and have no problem at all on W10.

I have read that post and decided to not update the BIOS to v2.29.

  • How to enable VT support on new HP Compaq Elite 8300?

I received my new small form factor desktop - HP Compaq Elite SFF 8300.

It comes equipped with Intel Core i7 - 3770 Quad core CPU @ 3.40 GHz processor.

According to the site web of Intel, this processor has the full support of VT (virtualization), however, when I install the VMware (ESXi) product, it tells me that VT is not enabled and I need to enable it in the BIOS.

I tried to get into the BIOS by "ESC", but I don't see an option on how to enable VT support. I installed the latest available BIOS too, it did not help to unlock this option.

What do I need enable VT support on my computer?

    Thank you!

    DM

    Hi, DM:

On my 8200 Elite, the option enable the VT is in the Security menu.

I think it would be the same on the 8300 elite.

  • 32-bit installation of Windows 7 on HP Elite 8200 Ultra Slim 64-bit

Hi, I have big Windows 7 32 bit installation issues on our HP Elite 8200 Ultra Slim A2K41ET of 64-bit PC.

The mediums of recovery are all for 64-bit

We are a school using RM CC4 that installs Windows 7 32 bits for all client systems. Our server system does not accept the 32-bit driver for HP, so I was unable to deploy Windows 7 on our new HP Elite 8200.

I really need the 32-bit driver, including the .ini to add to our file generation software, but I couldn't find it on the HP website. It provides only exe installers which come with many files of different driver for different operating systems and CPU architecutres.

Otherwise, I was going to install a copy of vanilla Windows 7 32 bit to the HP system, but when the Windows Installer starts, he says that it is impossible to find the necessary drivers, but it does not say what he needs!

Any help and suggestions would be greatly aprecaited.

    Hello:

No driver is required to install Windows Vista or Windows 7 on a HP Elite 8200 desktop computer business.

You use a real MS W7 x 86 installation disc, or the one you burned the ISO file download yourself?

If you get the DVD, then you have one of two problems...

    1. you do not have the complete file download, even if it says "Download complete" (check the size of the file on your DVD against the size of the Digital River file when you start the download).

    2. you do not burn the ISO at the slowest possible speed that you have leading to the PC with the DVD playback problems.

If you continue to have problems installing via DVD, use the installation of USB flash (you need a 4 GB flash drive) by following the instructions below:

Download the MS of W7 USB installation tool and read the instructions on the page to use.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/p bPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

You may also make this mod as I did if the flash tool-error.

Download the bootsect file form http://www.everettsporting.com/bootsect.zip

You will need to go into Control Panel, select display large icons, go to the icon of folder options, view tab, and select the hidden files and folders option.

Once downloaded, copy the BootSect.exe file in the same folder that contains the file of Windows7-USB-DVD-Download - Tool.exe installed. This file in Windows 7's default installation directory is C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Apps\Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool\

Run the application from the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool as described on the Microsoft Store website. The end result will give you a boot USB flash drive that contains everything you need to install the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

  • HP Elite 8200 SFF 8 GB RAM: Windows 10 64 - bit - upgrade Win7 to Win10 on HP Elite 8200 SFF - future drivers to win 10 64-bit?

I've upgraded 3 computers (portable and desktop computers) to WIN 10 since the launch and made part of the Windows program initiated for 8 months - (identify problems with NVIDIA drivers, etc.). All of the family's computers have upgraded with minimum agitation outside HP Elite 8200 SFF - core i5 vpro.

Be aware that this PC passes all diagnostics equipment and a new hard drive and compatible memory and work 100% without error on Win 7 Home - motherboard and processor are out of the box, two weeks ago. The PC has been reset to Win 7 since.

After installation, there was a lot of blue screens including: -.

    Memory management errors

    Bad pool header error

Several internet queries (probably from Microsoft OneDrive store)

I understand that this machine has not been tested as part of a verification of the compatibility of HP / Microsoft.

My question is: there will be updates on the site of HP driver Support in the near future to include 64-bit Windows machines concerned 10 drivers? Or links included for Intel Chipset drivers when they are available to Win10?

    At any time.

I am pleased to have been of assistance.

Maybe try again before the end of the free period.

It is possible that they will have worked on bugs and the most up-to-date version at W10.

Who knows, it might even be the integrated graphics Intel W10 driver that is buggy.

I got my Elite 8200 throwing XP Pro x 64, Vista, W7 Pro, W8.1 Pro business and now in W10 Pro works perfectly on every operating system.

  • HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF: Ram additional Elite 8300 SFF

    Hello

I bought a vith PC (sold the first time 2013-02-14) used only 8 GB of Ram (4x2Go), so I would like to replace two of these modules of RAM of 2 GB with two modules of 8 GB but when I read the manual, it says I quote: "to obtain the maximum memory support, you can fill out the card system with up to 16 GB of memory configured in a high-performing mode dual channel."

Gan anyone expose this mean in my case?

    Thanks in advance

    Asger

    You are the very welcome.

The quickspecs are updated when the reference manual was not.

Mine says the same thing... 16 GB max, but the quickspecs update said 32.  No changes to the hardware.

Look at it this way... it would be absolutely no logic that my old Elite 8200 of 2011 model has more capabilities than the 8300 elite memory.

They are like cars... they add more features every year, not less.  The 8300 elite added USB3 ports.  The 8200 Elite has no USB3 ports.  8300 elite turns 3rd generation core processors/memory at 1600 MHz.  The 8200 Elite short 2nd generation core processors/memory at 1333 MHz.

All I can tell you is that it will take 4 x 8 GB memory like mine did.

Just make sure you get compatible PC3-12800 memory.

  • Elite 8200 SFF: BuildID and Featurebyte on missing 8200 Elite

I just bought two lease Elite 8200 SFF i7 2600 units from a dealer. Software HP Advisor offer updated the BIOS and I wrong therefore supported in the latest version available on HP Web site. BIOS is missing info BuildID and Featurebyte. There is no label of product outside the chassis with this info. Startup units is no longer Windows 7 64 bit, or any OS and I cannot use my support of recovery because of this missing info from Bios. Without the BuildID and Featurebyte numbers I'm dead in the water. How can I get these numbers when I did no sticker on the chassis. Is there a database by serial number somewhere at HP?

Thanks, Skylarking. Here are the legimate lease 8200 with a valid sticker of COA and label series/product number for HP. However, there is no background label with the buildid or featurebytes. Fortunately and luckily, since I posted, I was able to find the buildid and featurebyte always in the bios (Ctrl-A) on one of the machines. So, my wandering bios update flash only erased the buildid and featurebyte on a single unit. After copying and recording the same numbers in the other identical 8200 (who had been his numbers suffered by the bios flash),.

I was then able to use the recovery discs to reinstall the HD to the original factory configuration, and now I'm ready to go. I had to reinstall disks as recovery option would not allow me access recover partition recovery HD. Apparently, if I had not always had numbers in the same unit, I would have been powerless, unless my unit seller could give them. I will be away from HP Advisor suggested bios flashes in the future, unless I'm having problems.

Thanks for your time and your input. It was an answer clear and informative, and I learned something about buildid and featurebyte, even though I had already solved my particular problem.
