HP deskjet 5650 / Mac OSX 6.8 printer dialog box MIA!

I'm having problems of access to a way to change the printing preferences for my deskjet 5650, specifically the "print in grayscale" command I want to change color...  (at least, that's what I think the problem there...) I know that this is not a problem of ink)

I must have changed somehow, perhaps before I changed laptops and went from Tiger to Snow Leopard operating systems, but I have tried everything that I can understand mine and I can't print color documents on different sites even though I used to.

Hello

As an older printer, that model is no longer supported on Mac OS X 10.6 and above, so that the question seems due to use generic drivers (which are very limited).

You can find the following information:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01856359

Even if the printer is not compatible with the operating system, you can check the 3rd party HPIJS print drivers that seems to support your printer, I guess that it should provide better reults.

Be sure to install one of the 3 required downloads and follow the instructions of the printer set up in the page HPIJS:

http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/OpenPrinting/macosxhpijs#Downloads_Required

Hope that helps,

Shlomi

  • Acrobat 9 Mac Print dialog box freezes

I was not able to print from Acrobat 9 Pro for Mac for many months. I open the print dialog box and change the settings, but as soon as I click the button print, Acrobat crashes and I have to force quit. (More precisely, the print dialog box can be moved around, but even if I switch to a different application, as the Finder, the print dialog box remains open - Print button stops flashing. Nothing is printed, and the dialog box cannot close until I force quit.)

Worse still, it happens when I print a PDF from Safari, too! She was driving me crazy, and I've tried a ton of different troubleshooting techniques.

Currently using 9.2.0 on Mac OS 10.5.8. Not sure when the problem started, but I did a number of Acrobat and OS updates since then, always hoping that it will fix it. No luck.

I thought it was the free version of ExplorerX fonts Linotype that I use much, much too long. When I left, it seemed to work once... but now even without running it crashes. So maybe it was a fluke.

Also, sometimes it works if I hit the print button very quickly after the opening of the dialog box. It's even more bizarre.

Yes, I deleted the printer driver and reinstalled.

Frustrated. (I usually just open the PDF in preview and printing, or place it in InDesign and print.) But sometimes, like today, when I print a contract with digital signatures, Acrobat only.)

    Sigh,

    David Blatner

See if there is a new driver for your printer file. If so, install it and see what happens.

  • Features lost in the x 10.5.8 Mac OS print dialog box

I don't know how it happened, but suddenly I lost the ability to change some settings in the print dialog boxes.

In any print dialog box, the upper part of the window allows you to select which printer, all presets, the number of copies, whether you want collated and which pages.

Below that is a combo box that usually displays the name of the application. If you select the triangle in this drop-down menu, other options appear: layout, choice of colors, paper handling, Page coverage and Planner. These options work fine.

Below, however, here is another set of options that are all, I suppose, provided by the printer driver. On my HP Photosmart C7200, the available options are: double-sided printing, Type/paper quality, printing without margins, HP Real Life Technologies and printer driver information.

If I choose one of these options that appear in the lower part of this drop-down menu, nothing appears. The name of the application remains in the drop-down list box. In other words, I lost the ability to select two-sided printing, change the paper type and print quality, cor log printing without margins.

    Any suggestions?

    I solved this problem.

For those who might stumble upon this thread who have the same problem, try resetting the CUPS.  To do this right click on the left side of the preferences window printers (where it lists the printers) and select "Reset Printing System...".

  • Print the brochure-page editing and print dialog box questions

    Hi people,

I have a small organic seed in Southern California company and I am looking to do our first seed catalog using what I would describe as a "zine" format: a letter-sized document that is folded, resulting in a booklet composed of half pages (I don't know if there is a more technical term to do this (, please correct me). I use InDesign 5 and Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

When I started doing the document, it seemed logical to start with my page as a 'half letter' size, because I had read about the "Print booklet" feature of Adobe that would automatically print the pages in the order appropriate for folding. After doing a few pages of my catalog, I decided to do a test run this function, as I suspected things may be more difficult that it seemed. I ran against two problems while doing so, and I hope someone here can help give me an idea.

The first problem is that I can't get the pages to impose properly by adopting a system of alternative numbering on the pages themselves. To explain: I chose '2-top stitching horse' in the settings of the printed booklet. I have a paper of 10 pages of 5 blocks spread. In the menu document, I put my layout to start on page 2 so that gaps appear side by side in the pages. However, I also want page numbers on my zine so I started a new section number (which I gave an A prefix) on what is ultimately the fourth page of the layout. This numbering comes as '1' on the fourth page and produced consecutively from here (pages 4-10, on the spread in the page layout area are labeled 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 on the pages themselves). It seems that booklet printing think my second section (A) on page 1 is where it should start stitching horse formatting. The help section on booklet written print Adobe, 'If you have split the document into sections of page numbers, you should enter section page numbers (for example, Sec2:11) "in the range field.". However, they recommend only do that if you want specific pages to the format ranges, while I would like to format the entire document. However, I tried to do that, suspicious that the first three pages were not formatted properly. However, I could not yet find a way to clarify my section A in the range box. I typed in things like "SecA:1" but I get a message that says: "one or more of the specified pages aren't valid page names." I note when I stripped the formatting of the document the print booklet feature requires the pages in the correct order. Thus, this problem is not the end of the world. However, what I lost is the ability to have numbers of pages printed on my document, unless I want to manually add to each page (and then having to deal with reformatting if I ever add or remove pages of the document in the future).

The second and more important problem that I have is to get the pages to print even close correct. I have a printer Brother HL - 5340 D laser has a two-sided feature, and I thought there would be a way to print just two pages of my catalog (half-letter pages) on a letter page size, side by side, double faces and in the right order for folding. After trying a number of different options (by changing the page size and the page orientation in the print area), I was not able to get the printer to print these pages, with success, or even in the right size and orientation - or even on the set of law, indeed. Once I played around with all the settings I managed to pull of "Tray1" (and created a preset in the OS X print settings), but I can't understand how I got this opportunity to stick. Of course, Adobe recommends using their own printer on the Brother driver dialog box, but duplex, for example, is impossible without ebb in the print based on the OS setting. I turned, something that has worked well with other InDesign documents I created. In this case, however, I have not been able for duplex printing to work.

I wonder if there are conflicts being created between two printer settings, or maybe I just made a mistake starting my catalog with a letter paper size "half" and now try to print two of my pages letter half on a sheet of letter-sized (and double-sided, at that). As a neophyte InDesign (six months experience) I still wonder if there is something really obvious that I'm missing.

Does anyone have a picture of my situation?

    Waiting patiently. Thanks people...

    Peter,

See the screenshot above (two positions to the top) where I show the "spreads" I made in the document. I have 56 pages in 29 spreads

The number of "spreads" appearing in the pages Panel is misleading since several ov them don't have only one page. I do not see the whole Board, of course, but my guess is that all the "spreads" we do not have two pages. Normall is the first and the last spread that are singles, but you have done strange things with the numbering.

In any case, is printing print booklet 28 pages. The only way that can happen if additional blank pages are added is if you did not include the original White you have created. You have to go into setup to display the print dialog box and select include blank pages there.

  • Lack of 'Print Settings' in the Canon printer dialog box

    Hello

I googled around for this, but I have not found an answer to this question. Maybe someone here would know?

I want to print a photo in Lightroom 3 on a MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. I have a printer Canon MP800R. I want Lightroom to manage the color, and I am able to choose glossy paper profile I want in the print job Panel in Lightroom. However, when I click on print and get to the part where I should disable color management in the printer dialog box I am not able to do. There is no section of print settings in the dialog box. For as far as I understand, all the important things happening in this section of print settings, see http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_print/lr2-print.htm. Why I don't see print settings?

I would add that if I go ahead anyway with Lightroom managed printing, the colors are disabled, but if I use Managed by printer colors are decent.

I'm sure that the profile you choose LR Print | Print job . Color management | Profile: is not correct for your paper.

SP4 is the profile of low quality for Photo Paper Plus Glossy which is a whole ' nother animal!

It is, I do not think that Canon has released a specific profile for Glossy Photo paper which, I suppose, that they consider to be a document of 'consumer '.

Whenever I used the paper, I used "managed by printer" and never imagined I could do much better with it.

You can try setting "Canon IJ Printer Profile 2005 color" as well as the profile, but I'm reasonably confident that will give you exactly the same thing as "managed by printer" for the reason that I think it's the profile of the Canon driver applies "under the hood" when you make this choice.

(You should try, or PP + SemiGloss Photo Paper Plus Glossy - they're good!)

    See you soon

  • After update to Firefox 32.0.3 print dialog box will not apear in Win7Pro/XP after awhile, but a restart of Firefox will allow him to appear again...

After update automatically to 32.0.3 Thursday last Monday on the computers of all of our employees and boss both Win7 pro and XP pro, we saw Firefox sessions that will not bring the print dialog box. The print preview dialog box will return but no button print or print menu to display the print dialog box. After you close Firefox and reopen the print dialog box works again for some time. Web sites that use boss and staff during a session are different and appear to be the cause. Firefox settings are at fault because simply restart of Firefox just solves the problem and no other web browsers or application has any problem with the display of the dialog box print at any time. Again, that has started on all computers as soon as 32.0.3 was automatically installed during the night.

    Thanks Guigs2,

Our users done restaring Firefox so I couldn't get this info.
Now, it seems that the issue may have been corrected in v33.

  • Why Firefox doesn't open the printer dialog box whenever it starts

When Firefox opens the printer dialog box opens automatically - why and how can I make sure that he does this.
This never used to happen on previous versions of firefox

Some web pages automatically shows the print dialog box. In particular, the pages Web sites have specially formatted for printing can do.

Restore you tabs that you have opened previously, or commissioning with your home page (s)? I suspect that one of them generates the dialog box. You can view by clicking on each of them and reload the page to see if it's on this page.

  • I can't and never been able to open a file that was previously saved on hard disk by selecting the print option to get in the print dialog box

I can not and never been able to open a file that was previously saved on hard disk by selecting the print option to get in the print dialog box. Firefox displays gooblygook, even if the name of file is an html element, the Notepad of Windows crashes, MS Excel does not recognize the file type. MS Word also displays goobblys when the file has no file extension.

If you use the file printing, then you will get a file that is supposed to be sent to a printer, and this file has any sort of code formatting for this printer.

Open such a file in Firefox or a text editor can only work if you use one printer for text to print the file to, then make sure that such a printer is installed and selected.

  • Print dialog box low buttons are hidden Windows 7

When I try to print something from Adobe Reader X low buttons of the box print dialog are cut off or are hidden behind the taskbar. He won't let me not resize the print dialog box or even move. This also happens when I try to print something from some sites on the internet as if I try to print the postage on the USPS site. I don't know if this print dialog is part of Windows 7 or Adobe Reader X, I asked this question twice before, but because I mentioned it was problems with Adobe Reader X is perhaps the reason why I have not received a response yesterday when I posted two questions? Are there people from Microsoft are working today to answer this question?

I just got done uninstall X drive and installed the previous version of 9.4 and the dialog box is returned to normal and it works fine. I don't know why the version X did this on my computer and a few others that I see after reading some forums. It seems that the problem is not due to an operating system or another. Or it does not seem that it is a kind of brand of computer. I now wonder if I should try to reinstall drive X and see if the problem persists. I don't think that a clean install is desirable because I think that my computer came with 9.4 and automatically installed the new X version without my permission?
