HP DV-7 randomly freezes and won't recover.

(1) HP Pavilion dv7-6b50ea Entertainment Notebook PC

(2) Windows 7 64 bit

(3) no change in your system until the problem occurred (since is arrived)

(4) no error message

Hey all,.

I bought my computer laptop enough recentally and it occurs very well normally, but every now and then it freezes just straight up. It seems to happen randomly, could be left pending, after game, watching film, but he always do when I try to run the troubleshooting support on HP Support Assistant.

When it freezes it starts to run very slowly, then the cursor begins to lag and finally stops, after that nothing will respond (even by pressing the caps lock button is not turn on or off the it's little light). I tried to leave for a few hours, but it never recovers. Ctrl + alt + del doesn't work, stops just this.

Just thought I would post incase someone had ideas before the word is supported for HP (its still under warranty, although the term ends on the wrong date.) I bought 22/06/12 but hp support assistant said began 10/07/2011).

Thanks in advance,

NIC D

Hi Nic,

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f10 you start Notepad to open the menu of the bios.  Under Advanced Options or diagnosis tab, you will find the possibility to run tests on the hard drive and memory.  Post back with the details of any error message.

If the criteria above, try the following.

In the Menu start, open the all programs, open accessories, right-click on command prompt and select "run as Administrator".  In at the prompt, type the following command and press ENTER.

sfc/scannow                (Note that there is a space between sfc and /)

Let the entire process, then the output type and press ENTER.

Then, click on the Start Menu, click computer, left click Local disk C once to highlight, right-click Local disk C and select Properties.  Click the Tools tab and then click on the button "check the drive for errors.  In the next window make sure that both boxes are checked, then click Start.  Right plan the audit on the next reboot of the system, and then restart the laptop - this process can take several hours before the load in Windows.

Kind regards

  • Random freeze and automatic restart

I have a Dell Inspiron 1521 with windows vista that I bought about 2 years ago. Since I got it, it was freezing when loading, either on the screen, the opening of the office, or even in full me work on something load. It also randomly restarts itself without giving me any warning as to what happened. I ran the antivirus scans and that you have installed all updates. nothing seems to solve the problem. Maybe windows vista is to blame; We all know that 2 years after vista came out windows 7 has been created because vista is a GREAT operating system. I have NO idea what to do on my laptop in addition to throw out the window. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • The Adobe product improvement program popup freezes and won't let me open Illustrator

The popup for improvement of the product where they want you to join their program just came today when I tried to open Illustrator CS4.  I used it on OS X El Capitan and its been fine until today. The popup freezes.  None of the links are active and Illustrator will not open.  How to disable the pop-up window or tell adobe that I won't participate if it turns off itself?  The only solution I found was to edit files in Illustrator.  The text editor could not save the files, because they said I didn't have permission, even if I am registered as an administrator.  I tried Adobe online chat and they assured me that someone would get back to me on the forum.

  • Satellite L30-134 - after HDD upgrade PC freezes and won't start

    Hello
I upgraded my Satellite L30-134 of the standard 60 GB HDD for a new 120 GB. After that, I have the following problem:

    (1) after installing XP form to the recovery House DVDs works fine but after that 2-3 weeks of normal use it instantly freeze pc and after hard reboot the OP start up can do anything but to format the HARD drive. After that format cannot install original XP and Vista, the progress bar show me that the installation is complete but after reboot, nothing happens. This problem persists long wery. After 3-4 clean up one after another the pc starts and runs very well about 3 weeks. What is the problem? Any idea?

    (2) when I first install Vista or Linux PC is runing fine, but not in normal parameters. Always freeze but after hard reset works fine for about 2-3 days. When I install XP first that the PC is useles after hard reboot the only thing I can do is to format the HARD drive and do a clean install.

PS: The HARD disk is produced Original Toshiba.

    Hello

This strange boyfriend s but to me it sounds like that, these problems are caused from the new HARD drive that may be defective.

I think you should test the HDD using Hitachi Drive Fitness Test:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
With the Drive Fitness Test, you can test your HARD drive. Download the CD image, burn it to a CD and boot from it. You can then the HARD drive test.

Don't know if someone can help out me, but I recently bought a P50 - A laptop and I have problems with the touch-pad.

Basically, what happens is that every now and then my touch-pad locks at random and then allow me to unlock and will unlock once I reset the laptop.

Have tried to reset WHAT BIOS to the default settings, but it makes no difference.
Have tried reinstalling drivers Synaptics but that made no difference.

Don't really want to restore the whole system I'm losing my downloaded installations, so before you go down this route as a last resort there at - it suggestions how to solve this problem.

Looking through the forums, it seems quite common with the portable Toshiba - is not itself a disturbing theme?

    > Do not really want to restore the whole system I'm losing my downloaded installations, so before you go down this route as a last resort there at - it suggestions how to solve this problem.

I think you can try to install the driver from Synaptics page directly as it s the latest driver available for the Synaptics touchpads:

But the recovery of the system is recommended, because in this case, you can check if your system would be hit by a 3rd installed third party software you know what I mean?

Thank you and very grateful for any input...

You seem to be dealing with a hardware failure.

Do a 'genius' one appointment at an Apple Store, or select another authorized service provider. You may need to leave the machine there for several days.

Back up the data on the internal disks before you turn on your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional - ask if you need advice.

If privacy is a concern, delete the partitions of data with the ability to write zeros * (do it only if you have at least two backups complete, independent, and you know how to restore on a blank disc from any one of them.) Do not delete the recovery partition, if it is present.

Keep your confidential data safe during the repair of the equipment

Apple recommends that you remove permission to a device in the iTunes store before serving.

  • Freezes and restarts on 2015 5K running El Capitan iMac and am ready to freak me out

    Hi guys,.

If I posted my check and reports being panic, could someone tell me what caused random freezes and restarts on my iMac 5 K - ish, El Capitan running? I am a designer/Retoucher and I am in the middle of a big job, of course.

He went on and off for a few months. I have cleared my startup disk and played fresh OS installs (didn't even use Migration Assistant just to be safe), three times. I installed apps one at a time try to refine what is the cause but could not.

At first I thought it was my mouse Logitech G502 because when I went to an old mouse for a few weeks the problem has disappeared. But yesterday, listening to iTunes via Airplay and working in InDesign, the system froze again.

I wonder if she might be SoftRAID(4) and/or my two RAIDs of 4 external ThunderBay?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Satellite A205-S4777 random freezing, laptop currently unusable

    Hi all

I tried to fix a few problems with my sister's laptop. She pointed out (and I have seen) completely random suspended system. The laptop everything freezes and does not recover. Only solution was to manually reboot the machine.

I tested the RAM, HD and disassembled the laptop and reinstall the heat sink applying AS5. In my attempt to delivery of a damaged operating system I have scratched the operating system and tried to clean install several operating systems (vista, win7, and most recently ubuntu 11.04).

What is surprising is the fact that I can do the following without problems:
    -memtest for 12 hours
-seatools UBCD for a long time
    -surf around the BIOS
However when I try to install a new os it invariably crashes / freezes.

Did I miss something? Can someone shed light on the issue here?

Your answers are very appreciated thanks in advance.

How many memory Modules are installed?

One of them is maybe defective, despite the passage of Memtest.
