HP dv6-6102ax Memory Upgrade

I have a HP dv6-6102ax running windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, a 2 x 4 GB modules of RAM installed (@ 1333 MHz) total of 8 GB of RAM.

Here is the link of my spec:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02910560

The link above shows in detail the characteristics of my motherboard.

I checked out the websites that my CPU (AMD APU A8-3530MX) is compatible with the RAM speeds up to 1600 MHz, but I don't know if my motherboard supports.

I was wondering if I can improve my RAM by installing 2 x 8 GB modules (@ 1600 MHz) or 2 x 8 GB (@ 1333 MHz). Total of 16 GB of RAM.

Please leave a response

Thank you.

Hello

Upgrade Superior freq that RAM win nothing UNLESS the downside is less expensive, it may not work. You have a high speed car (CPU) but the laws of the road and the roads (FSB) Hello alone drive you at a speed of limitted, you do what? And your goal is to upgrade to 16 GB, this may work, BUT have you read the link?

Memory 8 GB at 1333 MHz DDR3
Memory Max Expandable to 8 GB of DDR3 memory

Kind regards.

Faster RAM can't help, you can have a very fast car the roads and the aunique laws allow you to go to something. What you can do, break the laws? Back to your machine, please use the very reliable seller next, they guarantee their RAM works:

  • Question on Pavilion DV6-2140EF memory upgrade

    Hello

I tried to replace my 2 * 2GB memory modules by modules of 2 * 4 GB on my Pavilion DV6-2140EF

The maintenance manual mentioned that each module of memory should be 4096-MB, 1066 MHz DDR-3 DIMM (part number 579155-001)

It supports the total system memory of 8192 MB (4096 MB x 2, dual-channel).

I bought these two 4 GB modules:

    Corsair RAM DDR3 up to 1066 CL9 Kit2 COR

But it did not work. Windows 7 64 bit Pro could not start, even if the memory of 8 GB was visible through the BIOS and test memory BIOS was ADOPTED. I tried with a single 4GB module and I had the same problem. When I handed the older modules, it worked good gain.

Now, I am planning to buy these modules:

    Crucial 8GB Kit (4GBx2) 204-pin PC3-8500 DDR3 SODIMM, Unbuffered, CL = 7, NON ECC, DDR3-1066, 1.5V, 512Meg x 64

    Would this work better?

    Kind regards

  • HP dv6-3259wm Memory Upgrade

I have a Hpdv6-3259wm notebook and I am confused about the upgrade memory. The said product info uprade max is 8 GB, but the system says that windows 7 64 bit is unlimited... can someone clarify this for me? I want to improve my memory but am currently in a State of confusion...

    Hello

Windows 7 64 bit can support up to 192 GB of memory (it is for Ultimate versions, business and professionals only), however the 8 GB limit see you for your laptop is due to the motherboard and it will not support more than 4 GB per slot.

This is also confirmed by the option of upgrade on Crucial.com

Limits of memory for Windows 7 can be found here.

Recently saved this PC of my friend tries to throw it. Everything is fine with the PC. It works perfectly and there is no material visible failure wihtin the PC either. He just bought a new and had no need for this one.

Before turn me this into a House mutli-purpose server, I decided to upgrade the RAM.

So I did some research and found this page: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01883661

DDR3 240-pin DIMM 1333 MHz non - ECC, Max 4 GB per DIMM slot, Total Max 16 GB module.

I went and bought RAM Corsair. Link to the product: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cmv4gx3m1a1333c9

I decided to get 2x4gb and upgrade later if I felt the need.

I was happy to install in the PC. one in DIMM 1 slot and the other in the DIMM 2 slot.

    BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!

I thought that maybe the slots are wrong, maybe they have to odd numbers then numbers.

So I changed the RAM of DIMM 2 DIMM 3.

    Once again, the annoying ringtone.

I even tried leaving just the 4 GB DIMM 1 and tried to start the PC, but nothing helped.

I tried a lot of different combinations with the end result is 5 annoying beeps.

After that I thought that maybe, just maybe, an update of the BIOS can change things.

So I installed Windows 7 (I can't stand Windows. Arch Linux FTW) and performing a BIOS update.

I then installed the new RAM again. Yes... frickin 5 beeps AGAIN.

I am extremely disappointed at this point. I spent already $ 70 on a computer with free access.

I read the forums here, but I couldn't find a thread with a solution for me.

Is there anyone on this forum who could lend me a helping hand?

Any information would be gladly appreciated.

PS Please report any stupid error, I did. Stick and stones could not curb my bones.

  • Max Memory Upgrade for Pavilion a810y

How can I find the AMT of max memory I can put in my Pavilion a810y?  It of sites that say 4 GB and other telling that to 2 GB.  Is the real answer please stand up.

    Hello:

Your PC would have the Intel 915 chipset.

If the motherboard has no memory, each with 1 GB of memory, 2 slots then you're at the max.

Locations of Intel 915 chipset memory cannot manage more than 1 GB of memory.

The crucial memory upgrade link I posted said your PC had 4 locations of memory, so that the info is wrong.

If you upgrade to W7, I recommend you only go with the 32-bit version on your PC.

A 64-bit system requires more disk space and memory to run as a 32-bit system doesn't work - not double, but, with only 2 GB of memory, a 32 bit OS will perform a little better that will be a 64 bit OS, but who is to you.

  • HP CQ61-313US posible memory upgrade configurations?

I have this laptop: HP CQ61-313US (with Windows7 64 bit) (card mother AMD = SKU: 577064-001)

    Origin this model laptop has 3 GB (1 GB x 1 + 2 x 1 GB) memory DDR2 800 MHz PC2 6400 S.

Now, I would like to upgrade memory a little bit, and according to the specifications (manual booklet to print and pdf) it is (recommended?, recommended?, applicable only?)  configurations of memory upgrade - here's the Manual:

    2 SODIMM slots

    Customer-accessible/extendable

    PC2-6400, 800 MHz, DDR2

    Supports dual-channel memory

Supports up to 8 GB of RAM, in the following configurations:

    8192 MB (4096 × 2)

    4096 MB (2048 × 2)

    3072 MB (2 048 × 1 + 1024 × 1)

    2048 MB (2 048 × 1).

    2048 MB (1024 × 2)

    1024 MB (1024 × 1).

As you can see only 6 GB isn't on the list, which is incomprehensible to me, particularly because you can combine 1 GB x 1 + 2 GB x 1 to get 3 GB, but not 2 x 1 + 4 x 1 for 6 GB GB GB as I would like.

So basically my question should be: is it possible to install 6 GB memory 2 GB x 1 + 4 GB x 1 on this motherboard despite the fact that it is not mentioned in the manual configuration?

    If YES, then what configuration would be better: 6 GB (2 GB x 1 + 4 x 1 GB) or 4 GB (2 GB x 2)?

    You are the very welcome.

I agree entirely with you suggestion.

You have a laptop HP Pavilion 2002au g6. Unfortunately you happened to choose a laptop that is not so simple to upgrade.

You will need to contact an online memory provider and ask them for help to find a guaranteed compatible 8 GB upgrade or buy the upgrade from HP.

Search for suppliers of memory online using Google or Bing and ""memory upgrade HP Pavilion g6-2002au ' as keywords. " I strongly recommend that you don't settle for anything memory compatible modules less guaranteed by well known memory manufacturers.
