• HP DV6 no power to motherboard

  I have a dv6 about two years, and it will power any. No power lights when I try to connect the adapter or switch. This includes the light on the power supply, button / stop or anywhere elsewhere on the keyboard.

  I bought a new battery and power cord, these two were not working. I used a multimeter to test the voltage on the power supply cord and got a reading of 9 Volts, what seems normal to me. I also used a fully charged battery, but was unable to get the power

  I also tried a hard reset several times by pressing the button for 30 seconds.

  This happened to me, at that time about 3 months ago, I stripped all of the computer down to the motherboard for Visual inspection and plugged the power cord from the DC power jack to try and test for any voltage on the motherboard. As soon as I did the light on the power supply power, I could then turn on the computer (without hard drive)

  I then put the laptop together assuming that there is some sort of glitch but when I put it all back together he returned to have no power. I repeated the process about three times and it's the same thing. On the fourth for a reason any after reassembling the computer, I was able to turn it on and use it. It has worked very well for three months, until today.

  I took the hard drive and it mounted on another laptop DV6 and it worked fine with that so I don't think there is a problem with the hard drive. I have also used another fully charged battery and has been unable to get any power, I used a different power cord and got no power either.

  What could possibly be? If it was a problem with the power connector should the power of the laptop on a fully charged battery? I don't think it's a motherboard problem I was able to use the laptop after the same problem happened three months ago.

  I think it's a motherboard problem. I went to take the portable hand to test the voltage on the motherboard, but every step of the way I would plug the power cord to see if light near the dc power plug turn on (indicating the power from the motherboard).

  At first I thought it was a bad welding and pressure on the motherboard of the laptop casing set (screw, etc.) which impede the flow of power to the motherboard. I disassembled the laptop complete and everything disconnected from the motherboard, keyboard, usb ports, button / stop, etc.. I then plugged the power cord and the light on the dc Jack lit indicating the power from the motherboard.

  I then applied pressure to the motherboard trying to emulate possible Fig.15 of laptop cover, regardless of where I applied pressure the motherboard was always under tension. I have then unplug the power cord and put the laptop back together in the hope that it would continue to work. Once back the laptop would not be under tension, not with the power cord plugged or a fully charged battery.

  I then proceeded to take off again, and would be taken in the power cord at each stage to determine who has the motherboard of the step would receive power. I found that disconnecting the keyboard from the motherboard did the trick.

  In conclusion: if my laptop has no source of energy (ie the battery dead and not trendy) it won't turn up until I have unplug the keyboard from the motherboard. Once I disconnect the keyboard that I can plug in the power cord, get the power to the motherboard and reconnect the keyboard. The laptop works perfectly until I lose power again.

• HP pavilion dv6-1352dx power supply issue

  Hello. My hp pavilion dv6-1352dx crossed a State gradually after that I received a warning to consider replacing the battery. Using Windows 7, 32-bit. Now seeing AC is turned on when it's plugged in but the battery charging light keeps blinking and turns off after a while. Tried holding down the power button / stop and from ac only who worked initially but turns off after a few seconds and now does not work yet. Looking for solution for 8 months now. Hard drive works with other PCs and have reset the memory. Thank you.

  I suspect the module plug AC, which is removable and replaceable and not very expensive. It could be a bad mother, however.

  If current password request - type the unlock code

  New password, simply press the ENTER key
  Repeat the same thing to check the password column.

  Then exit the BIOS saving & exit option to save the changes.

  I posted in another forum apparently, they don't understand what I'm saying. I have the same problem directors/power w / the password.  The model is a G6-1B79DX.  Power light is on and Caps lock flashes.
