HP elite m9520f, the graphics card upgrade

I recently bought Starcraft 2 and I can not run on anything else but low graphics on this computer. I thought that it would not be a problem, but apparently it is.

The specifications are:

Intel (R) Core (TM) 2 CPU Quad Q8300 @ 2.50 GHz

RAM: 8 GB

PCI Express x 16 card plug-in

  • Graphics processor / vendor NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GS
  • Video memory 768 MB GDDR2 SDRAM
  • Digital video standard High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI),
    Digital Visual Interface (DVI)

Copied and pasted the last piece, the computer currently has all original with her.

Also wondered in how much a graphics card, as I'd like to get one that can easily play newer games. Thank you

Boondockst, welcome to the forum.

If you upgrade the video card that will play the most recent game, a power supply (PSU) upgrade needed, also.

Here is a video card which should meet your needs.  The card is 8.5 "length.  Therefore, it should fit in the space provided.  I love the XFX, ATI cards.  ATI offers software to allow you to adjust the fan speed and overclock the card.  The software is called Catalyst Control Center.  This map requires a minimum of 450W runs correctly.  I like XFX, BFG, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.

I like the OCZ and Corsair PSU.  These two manufacturers are very good.  Their products will provide a clean and stable power supply for your system.  I always suggest measuring the PSU existing and comparing measures to whichever you choose.  The PSU is the backbone of the computer.  This is not a place to try to reduce costs.

Please let us know if this solved your problem or not.

I own a HP Pavilion a6414 and this is my first video/graphics card upgrade.  I did a good bit of research and I know that I have the PCI E x 16 appropriate for the card slot and the power SUPPLY 650 Watt PSU to insert in the ATX case. I measure the UAP present btw.  I'm a little worried about the upgrade of the power supply, because I read somewhere (I think it's here on this forum) that some HP tech rep said a person who upgrade the power supply could not be performed on the a6414, but I don't see why not.

My other concern is about the speed of the processor to the graphics card and possibly voltage problems, but I think the power SUPPLY Ultra PSU will be fine.  Either that it is my first time to play with the graphics card and PSU, I'm looking for advice on the compatibility between these three components, i.e. the model, the card and the power supply.  Any input will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance...

I installed everything today and it works like a charm.  I had read so much about the HD 5770 not recognized by HPs and the test of the power supply, but everything worked so far.  I bought a LG LED 20 "monitor today as well, and everything looks great.  Thanks for all the advice guys...  The links you provided helped with Dave BIOS, thanks.

No, the GTX 950 requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  There is no way to update the motherboard in the UEFI.  Latest video cards do not for UEFI were the GTX 660/670.  I suggest that you choose a manufacturer and contact their Technical Support to help them choose the best card for your system.

You will also need to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  It is only 300W.  Most newer cards require at least 400W to work properly.  Although status map specifications at least 300 w, members reported that they had at least to 400W.

  • Compaq-Presario CQ5110F: the graphics card upgrade

In order to upgrade to Windows 10, I have to upgrade my video screen, so I purchased and installed a 2 GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 in PCI Ex16 slot on the motherboard, but my system of refuses to recognize it, even if I changed the main video screen in the BIOS PCI Ex16. What I'm doing wrong here? I'd appreciate any help. Thank you

    Hello:

The Nvidia 730 series cards do not work on an old PC.

The BIOS will not accept it.

If you want a nVidia card which is close to the 730, you go with GT 630.

Also, there is a workaround to use the integrated graphics card and upgrading to W10.

See the discussion below.  You launch the DVD you made from the windows desktop and ignore the checking of updates.

  • satellite 2410-603: the graphics card upgrade?

    I have a satellite 2410 603 with a geforce4 420 32 MB card. I want to run games that require directx 9. 0a.
I seems that my card will not support it. The laptop / card can be upgraded to one that can support 9. 0 or it is part of the motherboard for the laptop and I'm stuck with it?

    Hello

Sorry I had to say that it is impossible to update a graphics card in a Toshiba laptop.

A laptop is a very complex machine and there is no space for construction in the slots scalable i.e. I have desktop computers!

It's ufortunately one disadvantage of a laptop, but instead, you have some advantages like mobility, compactness and so on!

You could show https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com (products) If you want to buy a new one! :-)

  • Pavilion HPE h8 - 1360t: the graphics card upgrades

My current system has used an AMD Radeon HD graphics card 7570.  I am interested in upgrading this map and looking for a recommendation for a mid range to high level card that corresponds to this case / motherboard.

    Hello

The NVIDIA GTX 970 is a decent graphics card.  Because of the many brands and models of graphics cards, you need to open your PC and do a step inside. Please read this document posted on: a discrete video card selection Guide

If you don't push monitor resolutions since 1920 by 1080 and average use game setting then the NVIDIA GTX 750 TI would be a good choice for use with a power of 300 watts with many games. However, the GTX 970 with a 500 Watt power supply would be good for many games even with the higher game settings.

He'll come down between your choice of performance and the depth of your portfolio.

Unfortunately, on most computers laptops (including your own), the video card can be upgraded or replaced because it is a built-in chip that is soldered to the motherboard.

Even a discreet video chip is part of the motherboard.

  • Pavilion e9280t: the graphics card upgrade

I had to spend my original GeForce GT220 graphics card to use at least three 3 monitors so I bought EVGA GeForce GT 640.  When I installed the card, everything was fine until the computer, install the driver and start then computer began to stop and start several times and then stopped at c prompt and siad it is impossible to find a bootable.  Long story short, I had to use my emergency disk and restart the computer.

Then, I started reading Blogs about the HP graphics card chain and one of technology pointed out I should buy Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 and this card will work without upgrading PSU, so I did.  Now, with the GTX 660 computer card keep start and stop and I can't seem to stop.  I spoke with a few outside tech and they said that I need to improve my diet.  If this is the case, then the HP expertise technology was not entirely accurate or I have another problem.

The UPE recommended are: (1) Corsair HX650 and (2) RS-650.  I also read that this MB Pegatron IPMTB-TK does not many power supplies above 550-650 watts.

Can someone tell me what is my computer problem?  Need to pass the power supply and if I do what PSU I can use?  Model and Type to fit properly in the case?

    HP Pavilion e9280t Truckee-UL8E

    Chipset: Intel X 58 Express

Original power output power: 460 Watt

    Hello

The differences between the reference models and variants will vary according to the manufacturer.  See the image below and notice number 6 power connectors that are necessary.  Depending on the configuration of your PC, a GTX 660 can't get enough power to the 460 watt power supply in your PC. As I said earlier, I didn't have a question of power using the EVGA GTX 660.  Graphics NVIDIA GTX 660 cards are border line with some power supplies according to the design of the PSU and the loading PC.

The Corsair CX500, or CX600 would be excellent choices. Note: the power supply fan is mounted upward toward the top of the Cabinet because it will shoot in the air fresh from along the edge of the top side entries.

From the manual, the only 2 x 2 (N 300mbps) card is Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6230 WLAN module. Does this mean that I can't install an ac card?

As I understand it, to upgrade the GPU, I need a new motherboard as well.

If anyone can recommend all new compatible products and how can I do to upgrade?

    I'm a little lost.

Well you are right about that. According to me, there is a version of the motherboard with graphics of 650 M, but these are not much better than the 630 M you have and the motherboard would cost nearly $300.

R7 of the Radeon HD 200 series video cards requires a single PCIe power connector 6 pin. Your office has not been handed over with a power supply that feeds it, then you must also upgrade the PSU. Choose a nice modular unit by a manufacturer as a Corsair. The generator units are highly regarded and reasonably priced

I plan to upgrade my X 51 R2 on a new card and didn't invest in a 970 Nvidia or 980, one that I have concerns about the use of power and if, in fact, they will work with my machine. Any ideas?

a 970 gtx is the maximum for your power suply. Please make sure you do not buy a version OC, as sometimes it consume more Watts

  • Main problems to upgrade the graphics card in my Mac Pro in 2006.

I am trying to upgrade the graphics card OEM in my Mac Pro 2006 to a Radeon HD 4870 1 GB graphics card.  I have big problems.  The previous owner recommended that my BONES 10.7.5 uninstalling and reinstalling.  I don't know how to do this.  The Apple website was no help with this issue.  The previous owner gave me a lot of procedures I've ever done before, including removing and re-creation of my RAM and using a Kext troubleshooting application.  Any suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

a 4870 with 1 GB of VRAM is not a real Mac card (who had only 512 MB of VRAM). Unlikely to show an image until the login screen, if ever. Unless the seller has a 100% guaranteed working procedure to get this working, I recommend you return for a refund - it is not likely to work in your Mac.

A true 5770 Mac or 5870 is the best approach for a 2006 or 2007 Mac Pro, because they are known to work with everything except movies under copyright, and your Mac is stuck in the 32-bit kernel and pre - 10.7.5 MacOS.

    Hello

If the ASUS 750 TI requires a 6-pin auxiliary power connector and your computer is running a version of HP 8 BIOS then you should be OK.  Open your PC and measure to make sure that graphics card fits.  In addition, open the command RUN and enter: MSINFO32

Your computer is running a version of HP 8 BIOS?  If so, and if it is possible to install the graphics card then go ahead. Find out what the return policy is before you buy.
