HP envy 15 t-j100: Duel boot with windows 8 & 10 repair loop caused

I dual booted windows 10 and 8.1 successfully for a time, up to one hour or later I turned on the computer laptop back and now it says computer prepairing for repair. Then he said with a frown to top left "could not repair will be automatically restartly.»

He then goes into the same loop for ever and ever, until I forse a stop by holding the power button down.

I tested my hard drive and memory, and they are good. Called Hp tech and they send me the installation media. However I have not install windows 10 until they fix the FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error which it says on the BSOD!

Well, I got my laptop Hp Envy back yesterday from Hp repair services after the fiasco of windows failed 10 they have wound up replacing the Seems Terabite HD 1 they could not repair windows 10 repair loop either! Everything is back to windows 8.1 once more. Didn't really care for windows 8.1 this is why I had to try windows 10!

  • Can I do a dual boot with Windows 7?

After taking all the precautions I can think to install Windows 7 on my wifes laptop. Drive recovery system, backups (2 DVDs) and an image I did more than 6 DVD.

I thought why not only reduce the Vista Partition, install Windows 7 in the created partition and run Windows 7 to see if it will work on the laptop (gives me time to straighten out things so that my wife can always use). Then remove the Vista Partition. If the laptop was mine would just reformat the dang thing and deal with what it goes down from there.

Then there is the Question of what to do about the EISA (recovery Partition)?

    Hello!

Of course, you can install Windows 7 and do a system to dual-boot with Windows Vista... Why not? ;)

As you have already said if Windows 7 works well on your laptop (I put t know which model you have exactly) you can remove Vista and use the old partition to store data or to include a new in the Windows 7 partition.

The hidden partition do you mean isn't the Toshiba recovery partition! It is a feature of Windows.
You can remove this partition you don t he most needs.

In addition, with the Toshiba Recovery disk, you are on the safe side. If you don't want Windows 7 you can go to Vista (factory settings). :)

There are various error messages that appear when I try to run a game on the side of windows xp, some speak of ram and some are on the charts? The main games I'm running are Max payne, Worms 2, Worms Armageddon, Dungeon keeper 2, Sudden strike 2, Rise & Fall, Rise of nations, Starcraft, Dune 2000 and Emperor battle for dune and a few others. • Get Win8.1 Pro with Media Center in Dual Boot with Windows 10 Pro

In December of 2012, I bought a new Dell XPS12 running 64-bit window 8.  Later, I bought "Win8 Media Center Pro Pack" for Windows Media Center.  Later, I upgraded to Windows 10 pro and lost Media Center.  Given that I had a legitimate copy of Windows 8 Pro with Media Center, I would like to re - install in a separate partition.  I was able to clean install Win8.1 in this partition using a flash drive and the MediaCreationTool.  He did not like my product key OEM Win8, and he didn't like my WMC Pro Pack upgrade key, so I installed using a KMS key that is freely available online.

Clearly, I go about it the wrong way.  I'm happy to start again and install Win8, then upgrade with my pro WMC pack key, but I do not know the mystical incantations necessary to get there.  Since I had legitimately a Pro Win8.1 with instance of Media Center, and I my self Win10 product key after upgrade, I can't imagine that such a dual-boot configuration would be illegal.  Can someone please help?

    Thank you

    Loki

    Hello

Eventually your 8.1 installation using KMS will be disabled.

    1. cannot use keys hacked to enable long term of Windows, as you will be taken; It's a matter of time.

    2. the key/license Windows product to describe the operating system, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, etc. is absorbed by upgrading Windows 10 during the installation process and becomes an integral part of the active Windows 10 final installation.

The license qualifying operating system, either Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, etc. cannot be used anywhere else, or in a dual boot with Windows 10.

    Kind regards.

  • Dual boot with Windows 7 and LINUX - Tecra A11 (PTSE1A - 005-00L)

    Hello

I bought a new Tecra A11 computer laptop running WIN7 Pro. I want to install LINUX also. This means that I want to run my laptop in dual boot Win7 Pro/LINUX (a Distributor). Please tell me how to do this.

There are 5 partitions on the HARD disk:
1 active, recovery partiton 1.46 GB (without drive letter)
    2. principal asset C: start 145,04 GB (NTFS)
    3. active logics E: 78,13 GB (NTFS)
    4 active logical F: 64.25 GB (NTFS)
5 primary Partition 9.2 GB (no drive letter, the unknown application)

Hey, I need because I was admitted to a course of RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer)

    Please help me

    Hello

I can't give you a step by step explanation, but most distributions offer today a possibility to coexist with Windows.
When installing the unused free space will be taken by Linux (with the consent of the user of course!)

What exact configuration you need is impossible for someone else to say, but I would say to make the space occupied by the F player available for Linux.
You seem to have of enough space for Windows and Linux operating system doesn't have much.

Some thoughts about setting up your score:

I touch NOT 1,2 and 5 no matter what. They are your system and a system of internal partitions (recovery and data environment) and wouldn't it be fun to lose.

1 active, recovery partiton 1.46 GB (without drive letter)
    2. principal asset C: start 145,04 GB (NTFS)
    3. active logics E: 78,13 GB (NTFS)
    4 active logical F: 64.25 GB (NTFS)
5 primary Partition 9.2 GB (no drive letter, the unknown application)

Then choose a Distro (Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora and OpenSuse - suggestion Fedora will be as close as possible associated with RedHat) that will guide you in the steps to allocate space for Linux.
I suggest however to remove the disk F in Windows for Linux does not start from resizing all partitions.
I do not know which works perfectly, but will just take time, and will most probably remain pretty useless drive F.

If you have valuable data on your device, make sure to save! No software comes with warranty :)
Last but not least - make 100% sure to create a collection set using the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator before you start the installation of Linux.
If something goes wrong you have the opportunity to put the unit in factory condition.

Good luck and keep asking you if you need extra help!

  • Double boot with Windows 8 and 7 Pro in a G6 - 2235us Notebook

    I have a G6 - laptop computer 2235us 64-bit included with Windows installed 8.0.
I would like to install Windows 7 Pro and make double book with Windows 8.0 with 7 as the default to start.

Please would you give me steps on how to proceed and also the drivers, etc., I would need to download.
    Thank you.

    You are the very welcome.

Yes everything seems to make sense to me.

    Two suggestions...

I would label the volume 8 of Windows and not Windows 8 Pro W8, since your laptop did not come with Windows 8 Pro.

I believe that you can not temporarily disable secure boot.

You should leave the setting to disabled, or you will not be able to boot in Windows 7.  Windows 7 is not compatible with secure startup.

Or whenever you want to start in W7, you will need to first go into the BIOS and disable the secure startup parameter, restart and then select W7 to boot from, which would take a lot of unnecessary time, IMO.

I don't know if it was me, I would leave all the parameter start secure off all the time.

Subject to the comments preceding, I think it should work very well.

  • Help remove vista and options to dual boot with Windows 7

I think that I have selected the bits from the right here, but please let me know if not.  I recently installed windows 7 and I love it so much I want to remove vista.

I can't find any instructions on how to make sure (after formatting the drive with Vista on it - it's on a drive of 500 GB physically separated for Win 7) that I can remove the dual boot option, I currently have.  I also read if I do badly I can leave windows 7 unusable.

Win 7 is a full do not install an upgrade, just like vista.

Any help on the Microsoft site means how to repair xp, vista or windows 7, so to delete this post.

Any help or direction is appreciated, I have a few days to make what I just place my order for a 2 TB HDD, so won't try until it happens.

    Hello

"Just to check and then (which seems easier to me), if I transfer my data from the vista disc (assuming that it is the system disk) then delete and restart with the win7 dvd, a repair will then sign the Windows 7 disk as the system disk and remove any dual boot option?

Yes, it should work. As the Win7 disk does not currently startup files, made only with this disc a repair will create the most necessary.

"Out of curiosity if I format the Vista disc, and then restart your computer with the win7 dvd, this will give the same effect as having Remode the floppy disk in the first place?

No, except if you use Disk Manager to designate the Win7 drive than active first. If you simply format the Vista disk and then run a repair, startup files will be rewritten on the disk of Vista. • Benefits of having two disk partitions; an a small boot with Windows 8, and drive the rest?

Just got a new computer Asus Cm6870 with Windows 8 and a 2 TB hard drive.

Can anyone think why the manufacturer who has installed Windows 8 created a c: 150 GB (which is half full) and a 1.7 to d: (remains)?  Ease of recovery?  Backup?

I would have preferred a player only, that way my libraries (documents, music, pictures, videos,...), downloads and other data files can be on the same drive.

What would be the downside to having a single disk?

I have an another 3 TB drive that I use for large files of video production and music.  That would be my d:.

    Hi Phantomiz,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

According to the description, it seems you want to know about several partitions on the hard drive. I'll be happy to help you with this problem.

It is not recommended to have the data and files of the operating system on the same partition. It is because if the operating system files are corrupt, your computer go to no start situation. In this scenario, you will lose all the data that you have on your c: drive. Otherwise, if you save your data in the d: drive, you can reinstall the c: drive and your data is safe in the d: drive.

I hope it helps. If you have any questions about Windows in the future, please let us know. We will be happy to help you.
