HP envy 17-j110 ea: upgrade graphics card

Hello!

I have a hp envy 17-j110 ea with GeForce GT 750 M and an Intel Core i7-4702MQ @ 2.20 ghz processor.
I want to improve it with better graphics (NVidia GTX M) so it can eventually run to a better quality games. Is this possible? Are compatible with motherboard GTX M series? Or it will cause problems to the laptop?

Thanks a lot for your help in advance. (I'm not that tech savy if you don't understand it )

Hello:

There is no graphics removable/replaceable 'cards' in your laptop.

There are two GPU (Intel and Nvidia) welded and built into the motherboard.

You are in the upper part of the mark about graphic solutions for your model series.

can I upgrade graphics card on pavilion dm 4?

    Laptops are unlike desktop computers.

Desktop PC have an open architecture that make the relatively simple upgrade.

PC laptop and portable access to the e/s available and put at level of the slots through the doors of the inspection and often almost total disassembly.

Laptops are also limited by the BIOS and the physical attributes systemboard on the video modules and wireless can be used for upgrades.

A BIOS of the laptop has a white list of the modules that are acceptable. If a module wireless or video is not on the whitelist, then it cannot be used. If a notebook THAT BIOS found during the POST (power on self test) as a module not on the white list has been installed it will warn you and it won't start the laptop computer in the operating system installed.

If money is no object you can update the video through an exotic external graphics solution like Vidock Gfx.

    Concerning

Sorry, but you operate in a misunderstanding.  Your PC is a laptop computer and, unlike desktop computers, it uses no graphics "cards".

Instead, it uses graphics 'modules' - and what makes these different, is that they involve the graphics chip is soldered to the system board.  This means that you will need to disassemble the entire PC to replace the motherboard just to change the graphics chip.

This would have to do to an HP Service Center - which means that it will cost you easily several hundred dollars, maybe more replacement laptop in its entirety!

  • Want to 810qe of Phoenix: upgrade graphics card on desktop HP Envy Phoenix 810qe

If earlier I wanted a new Phoenix 810qe Desktop (windows version 8) with the following customizations: 4th gen Intel i7 - 4790 k @4.0 Ghz, 16 GB DDR3 - 1600 Mhz (2 DIMM), 2 TB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive, cache SSD 16 GB mSATA, HP WLAN 802.11 DB 2 x MCard BT WIDI 2 ac, 15 in 1 Multi Media Card Reader slot , 6 USB ports (front/back), Audio [before 4USB2.0, 2USB3.0 top of the page], 4 GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 745. I want to know if I could put in an Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 instead of the 745 GTX graphics card. Reading this post on the forum (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/Upgrade-My-HP-ENVY-Phoenix-810qe-Desktop/td-p/4679014) I know that the computer has a power of 500w. But in the post, that it seemed that the person asking the question just had basic computer and had not adapted it, and I still have to wonder if the customization that I did for my computer took more watts of the PSU.  Now that I know that the GTX 980 would need 500 all the watts that my computer can offer that I want to know if my computer is perhaps still able to run this beast of a GPU. Anyone have any ideas? If this isn't the case, I think I can just settle for a Geforce GTX 960 because who needs to 400 w of total power of the system. But I'm not even sure that would work on my current computer either. Any help?

    Hello:

There is no "Graphic" cards in your Notepad (or any laptop made by HP in the past years).

There is a GPU chip that is soldered to the motherboard, and it cannot be upgraded or replaced.

There are no slots to add graphic cards on the laptop as you can for the most part, the computer.

  • Upgrade graphics card

    HII,

I know its a strange Question to ask! But still, I want to know if it is Possible to update a graphics laptop or not, in some some Forums they said some laptops can be evolutionary. I have a Hp Envy with a Nvidia Geforce Gt 630 M graphic processor 7206Tx dv6!

    Please help me!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello:

It is quite a strange question.  Some of the very high-end business notebook work stations can have repeating graphics cards.

Your model does not have a graphics card.  The Intel and nvidia GPUS are chips soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded or replaced.

The only way to update the graphics in most patterns of consumption would be to replace the motherboard together with a support, which may have better graphics.

I think the only other board you could get was the GT 650 M GPU nvidia and this upgrade is probably not worth the effort or money to undertake.

This has been discussed several times here in the forum and no, the replacement of the GPU / isn t possible upgrade.

  • EliteBook 8760W: possibilities to upgrade graphics card

I currently have 8 gig RAM and graphics AMD over-pants M5950. About to upgrade to 16 gig which is max for this (Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz) processor.  "While I'm here why not upgrade the graphics card?" he asked. The notewbook is 4.5 years.  So, here's my question.  What might work for a new graphics card?  Thanks in advance.

We usually say to people flat out "no upgrade is possible". In your case, not true. You already have a good map. However, the other candidate is the nVidia Quadro 5010 M which is a beast with 4 GB of memory video memory DDR5.

    http://www.notebookcheck.NET/NVIDIA-Quadro-5010M.47195.0.html

    Here is the Service Manual:

    http://h20628.www2.HP.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c02847569-1.PDF

See p. 68 to see how the video card comes out.

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/Dell-NVIDIA-Quadro-5010M-4GB-GDDR5-M6600-video-card-N12E-Q5-A1-/251500680424?hash=item3a8e9bd4e8:g:zT4AAOxyBvZTRMPp

If you switch to nVidia, you also get a different fan/radiator for the video card:

Intended only for computers models NVIDIA graphics subsystems 652544-001

Your video card can be bought on eBay for under $ 60, while the Quadro 5010 M costs more than $600 in order to see how much more desirable is the Quadro. You can also search other AMD/ATI cards that are not specified in the maintenance manual, but it's very hit or miss. On the some portable (removable) MXM cards with, they are not universally interchangeable. There are Web sites for only MXM card information and you can see one of them:

    http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/Forum/67-official-MXM-upgradecom-Forum/

As you can see this isn't really a trivial question and must consider and plan carefully. Not just a "Hey while we're here we might as well" kind of thing.

  • p6720f HP: upgrade graphics card

upgrade windows 7 to windows 10.  that pc had problems windows updates do (going to try to update 1 and 4 hours later was still trying to install the update).

set up own pc works great boots in 30 seconds.  However, the video card that came with a pc ati4200 went wrong and we have replaced by a geoforce 6700 who doesn't have a driver windows 10 for him.

the pci has a 1 PCI Express x 16 slot speed Gen 2 thus seeks a card that we can use with windows 10.  I don't know if I can use a pci card 2 x 16 most of the cards is.

Thanks in advnace for the help

    Hello:

Before investing money in a different video card, try to manually install the graphics driver for the GeForce 6700 W8.

To install the driver manually, start by downloading this free utility for files.  The 2nd file is 64-bit.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

Then download but do not run the graphic driver Nvidia W8 for the 6700 from the link below.

    http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/82758/en-us

After you install 7 - Zip and downloaded the graphics driver, right-click on the graphic driver file.

Select 7 - zip from the list of options and extract 7 - Zip: and leave it to decompress the file in his driver's record.

Once the driver file was extracted from his file, go to Device Manager and click to expand the category of device of graphics cards.

Click on the map to display Microsoft base listed there.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.

Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the driver 7-Zip created folder.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and see if the pilot goes like this.

    Then restart the PC.

If this does not work... your PC has only a supply of 250 W power specifications.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-p6700-desktop-PC-series/5035348/model/5049541/document/c02628244/

An appropriate card that works with a this power supply would be the GeForce GT 610.

He draws a max of 29 watts, and there are W10 drivers for it.
