HP envy j023ea: what memory is supported by my laptop? 1600 mhz and 1866?

I want to improve my memory, but im not painful if my laptop can suport 1866 mhz memory or not! I know that the 1600 mhz its not working because I have 8 GB of memory in.

Here is the Manual:

Repair manuals

See point 5 of p. 28 and p. 44-45. Yes, you can install an mSATA WSSD (not m2) but it can be used an a cache drive Intel Rapid Storage acceleration. A 24 concert WSSD was optional, but you can use a 32 gig. It cannot be the primary boot disk. After the back if you want more detailed instructions. You better install a 2.5 inch SATA SSD in place and place of the mechanical hard drive, but you can install a cache acceleration mSATA drive and it will work somewhat like an SSD at a lower cost. The advantages of this device have disappeared as SSD prices continue to fall, however.

    Hi all

I posted another thread on the 16gig working in the 770 x kits. I tried the new Kingston 8gig kit now. The Hyperx 1866 MHz C11 2x4g kit. It does not give a drop of performance increase, primarily because he is only recognized as 1333 MHz in the Bios. The Bios will not tell you the rate at which memory is running, but I ran Memtest and it is coming as 1333.

    Dear Toshiba...

All I want for Chinese NY is a BIOS that looks more like every other freakin BIOS. Something with more information and perhaps a few more adjustable features. I know you will get right on it, so look forward to 1.5 limitation and the RAM speed setting.

    Cheers in advance,

    Hello Tim

Sorry, but don't you know how it works?
I mean if the speed of the FSB 1333 MHz is, do you think really that a BIOS update can make it faster?

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1285 g-d mobo doesn't support Kingston pc3 12800 (1600 MHz)

    Buy Hp Pavilion HPE h8 - 1285d that comes with hp 4 GB ddr3-1600 in mid-August 2012.

Motherboard is IPMMB-FM (Formosa). Product H1N22AA number

Need another 4 GB of ddr3-1600 to 8GB ddr-1600. Buy Kingston HyperX 8 GB 1600 Mhz DD3 (set of 2).

Try it, motherboard is worth 8 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3.

HP technicians try and fix it, but to no avail. No choice but to buy only HP brand 4 GB ddr-1600.

The motherboard can now read as 8 GB ddr-1600 (Dual channel).

My question is why can't the motherboard stand NOT Kingston HyperX but ONLY from HP?

Then it defeats the purpose in information release of products where under memory upgrade information

    Supports modules DIMM DD3

    -PC3 10600 (1333 Mhz)

    -PC3 12800 (1600 Mhz)

No particular BRAND is mentioned for PC3-12800 (1600 Mhz). If the product information reported

that HP can only take over the PC3 12800 (1600 Mhz), I would certainly NOT bought the PC in the first

    place.

    Can do something about it?

Formosa has chipset Intel Z75 about it, so I'm not sure what this mobo can support Kingston HyperX DIMM. Based on the link below to Kingston memory FAQ, this particluar DIMM only works on the motherboard with a chipset of Intel Sandy bridge Z68.  This means that the Kingston HyperX DIMM you bought is not compatible with motherboard Formosa.

How will I know if my system can support HyperX Plug n Play?

Rep. : Your system supports HyperX Plug and Play as long as you meet the following criteria: your system must use a second generation Core i5 or Core i7 processor, a Sandy Bridge P67 or chipset Z68

Hope this helps and sorry for the trouble there cause on your side.

  • Envy 15 k233ca: memory upgrades and hhd

I'm trying to find out if the k233ca has a capacity of upgrade. By reading the plug here and there, the motherboard has 2 slots and there is 1 to 8 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3L module.

When I called customer service to see if there was a favorite of the seller, they told me that the Ram was not expandable as the machine has only 1 location and tot of the MB does support up to 8 GB.

    Well...

As a technician, I'm leaning towards believing the former rather than the latter, and since I did not open upward again, I checked Everest and it shows 2 slots, one with a 8 GB module and a location empty.

Before I open the unit to find this information for me, I wondering if someone is more familiar with this device, or can point me to a more detailed specifications and current page?

    My questions are specifically,

    1. What is the model of the motherboard more precisely and will support 16 gig?
    2. This is a configuration of dual slot, so I can use 2 x 8 GB modules?
    3. Can I use a low latency Ram? replace the original module to match of course...
    4. Is there a QVL for this MB?

Now for the HHD, a question... This machine will support SSD?

    Based on the HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC HP ENVY Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide of m7, it seems you should be able to switch to 16 GB of RAM and an SSD as follows;

    Memory

    Two SODIMM slots
Support of the DDR3L - 1600 MHz Dual Channel
Supports up to 16 GB of RAM in the following configurations:
    ● 4096 MB total memory (4096 × 1).
    ● 8192 MB total memory (4096 × 2)
    ● 8192 MB total memory (8192 × 1).
    ● 12288 MB total memory (8192MB 4096)
    ● 16384 MB total memory (8192 × 2)

    Storage SATA m2 (Port0)
    Accelerometer / HDD protection support
    Supports the following drives:
    ● 1.5 to 5400 RPM, 9.5 mm
    ● 1 TB 5400 RPM, 9.5 mm
    ● 750 GB 5400 RPM 9.5 mm
    ● 500 GB 5400 RPM 7mm / 9.5 mm for PC portable HP ENVY 15 only
    The hybrid configurations
    ● 1 TB 5400 + 8 GB NAND hybrid disc HARD 9.5 mm
    ● 750 GB 5400 + 8 GB NAND HARD 9.5 mm drive hybrid
    SSD drive

Only configured with up to 8 GB system memory:
    ● 256GO M.2 SATA (MLC)
    ● 256GO M.2 SATA (TLC)
Double storage configuration for the HP Envy 17 computer models
    ● 1 TB (5400) 9. 5 mm + 256 GB SSD SATA in m2 (TLC)
    ● 1 TB (5400) 9. 5 mm + 256 GB SSD SATA in m2 (MLC)

Please note that it requires an extensive disassembly and reassembly of the computer to make these improvements, including

remove, replace or loosening the screws up to 83. Also, note that other RAM/HDD/SSD configurations can run on this computer. It may be possible to have a facility that includes 16GB of RAM, a standard SATA III SSD and/or m2 SATA SSD card, but you will have to experiment to see specifically what works on your model.

  • Satellite A30 - 151 - what memory module can use?

    Hello

I have TOSHIBA Satellite A30-151 with 768 MB of DDR1 memory.
I want to upgrade. What is the best memory that I can buy?

    the card says:
    Max 2 048 MB.

So, how many slots I? I can buy 2 x 1 Go DDR1-333 memory? Can it be more than 333 then?

    Thank you
    NIR.

    Hello

    It is really an oldie
As far as I know that you can upgrade the RAM up to 2 GB of RAM
The bus (FSB) front-end speed seems to support 533 Mhz and that's why you should be able to use the 533 Mhz RAM modules.

PS: The laptop must support 2 slots of memory if you are able to put 2 x 1 GB RAM

    Hello

As far as I know that your laptop supports PC2700 DDR - RAM and 2048 MB RAM max.
    These modules are compatible:

    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

  • Satellite 5205 - what memory I can install it?

What type and memory size that I can install?
Can be faster than PC2100 and more than 512 MB?

    Hello

I discovered that this laptop supports a FSB at 400 Mhz.
This is why the memory installed modules will run max at 400 Mhz, even though the modules are memory faster. The FSB will slow it to 400 Mhz.

So the answer is; usually, you can use faster modules but it s really not worth because of the FSB.

In addition, it seems that you could improve memory for max 1024 MB (2 x 512 MB)

This is the maximum amount of memory!

Maybe this could be useful for you:

Do you still have the MBP? If so you can manually copy and paste the files you need.

If you do not have the pro more, you need to buy a USB key and plug it into the MBA... use it as a target. Once you have a system file of the previous laptop again, you have to manually choose what to copy across.

  • Tecra A3 - memory DDR, supports 400 Mhz?

Hi, first, sorry for my English.

My question is about Tecra A3; I want to improve memory, and I want to know if this model is compatible with a 1 GB memory DDR 3200 (400 mhz), because that in the manual indicates that supports up to 1 GB DDR memory, but it doesn't specify the type; and in the laptop memory is 512 MB 2700 (333 mhz).

My idea is to buy two 1 GB DDR memory and if it possible of 400 MHz s. That's what I want to know.

    Thank you!

You are right about maximum RAM. You can improve up to 2 GB. According to specification of Toshiba, you can use 2 x PC2700 1024 MB (PA3313U-2M1G). You can also use the Kingston RAM with KTT3311A part number / 1 G. Two of them are modules of 333 MHz.

Usually when you check page Kingston all compatible Rams are listed, including RAM with higher MHz but for Tecra A3 there are 333 MHz only Rams.

Theoretically 400 MHz should work, but I can't say for sure.
You have two compatible part numbers and maybe you should buy these compatible Rams.
If the motherboard has 333 MHz Front side bus use more fast RAM is useless anyway. Faster RAM must resign and run on the speed of the FSB.
