HP Pavilion 14-v016tx: upgrade: laptop HP Pavilion 14

is this model supports an upgrade?

(e.g., processor, graphics card & etc.)

Hey @YienTech,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook 14 - v016tx and interest to replace the CPU. It shows me that all is integrated to the motherboard. Therefore, only to be changed if you have deleted and change the motherboard.  Sometimes, the replacement part is more than the original laptop.

Thank you.

  • upgrade laptop HP pavilion 1318dx g4 processors

I want to upgrade my computer with an amd processor. (AMD Quad - Core A10 - series APU desktop A10-5700 with Radeon HD 7660D (AD5700OKHJBOX)) It has integrated graphics, is it possible or do I have a processor intel?

    Hello

Unfortunately, it is not possible and you have to stick with an Intel - lampholders for AMD and Intel processors are physically different.

BIOS HP have also, a "whitelist" of allowed processors you can only move to an other Intel processor that is on this list - install a processor that is not on this list causes the machine to boot.

There is a list of compatible Intel processors on Page 92/93 of your & Maintenance Guide.

  • The computer upgrade laptop RAM

Hi, I've had my HP Pavilion m6 1006tx for about 11 months now and I had success in the basic forms of games (minecraft and other training games not so much). Now, my computer has an Intel core i7-3612QM multi-core cpu clocked @ 2.1 ghz with intel boost 3.1 as well as 2 GB RAM graphics card dedicated AMD 7670. But I'm here to talk about upgrading my RAM, I noticed that 4 GB of RAM does not allow me to run a lot and all-in-all barely able to run a game requiring a minimum 2 GB of RAM, so I would like to know if I would cancel my warranty if I upgraded my RAM.

I also want to know if the RAM as the dicksmith (http://www.dicksmith.com.au/computer-accessories/dse-8gb-ddr3-1600mhz-nbook-ram-dsau-xm5717) would work with my laptop current RAM which comes with the laptop, as in can I use RAM of two different brands, first and second, can I used two different amounts of RAM at any given time?

Thanks for the reply if you do. Also if you need all the most characteristic, or do not understand anythings please indicate so and I will clarify with you details

My apologies, just need to really read it, I just read the forums main post with the upgrade and other things, I tried to look before and it has not loaded so I posted this but it's working now, sorry guys

  • Upgrade laptop computer (17-e040us)

Basically, I want to upgrade my laptop (HP Pavilion e040us 17) to more fast/more smooth fun by buying a few updates for it.

I want to upgrade my RAM, CPU and HARD drive, but I do not know what is compatible with my laptop.

I use my laptop for web browsing, playing games (WoW, sims, of flight-1st person shooter) and music recording/editing in the case where you need to know to what follows.

On the HP site, it says my memory is upgadable to 8GB maximum and there are two slots, does that mean per slot so I can get a total of 16 GB of memory? I only ask because I checked on another site (http://www.crucial.com/index.aspx) and who says I have 16 GB max mem.

I also want to upgrade my processor to an i5 or i7, which would improve my performance without breaking the Bank.

And finally the HARD drive. If I update this id as a 1 TB HARD drive. I hear THAT SSD is more expensive, but are faster. Is it possible to switch between them? Or would that be too complicated and I should let my only 750 GB HARD drive?

(Also I am planning buy parts and have a professional install them correctly)

    Thanks in advance
    See you soon

You're going to break the Bank. Everything you say you want to do will cost more than a new laptop. Your laptop has 6 GB of RAM. I run 2 gig module and put into a 4 second gig module identical to the first. Who will bump the memory speed significantly by allowing two-channel operation. Then I would eliminate the slow drive 5400 RPM and get at least one hard drive 7200 rpm or even a hybrid drive. These two upgrades might cost $150, but will result in the best bang for the buck. Forget upgrading the CPU. This is where the spending goes to bed and will return in fact less bang for the buck than the upgrade of RAM and HARD drive. And you can do the memory and hard drive upgrades yourself, without having to pay someone. If you need help with that let us know.

  • Upgrade laptop computer

My Mac Book laptop can be upgraded to OS 10.11or above and still be able to use the version of Mac Microsoft Office 2011?

Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 is compatible with OS X 10.11 El Capitan.

  • Reinstall an OS after hardware upgrades laptop

I just bought a laptop HP 2000 series. Found that there not nearly at the speed I would like to and want to make improvements. Looking at bumping RAM 2 to 4 or 8 GB. In the research to upgrade CPU who perhaps understand a new motherboard as well. Don't think I'll be upgrading the HD right now, but always curious to know that if I do, how can I keep my current Windows 8? It came with the pc, so I have no backup discs and did I not a code. Will also change into effect of RAM and CPU something important that I should prepare in advance? Thank you.

The RAM can be made easily. As you have on several versions of the HP 2000 processor is soldered to the motherboard. You'll find that the cost of a new mother/CPU card is more than you want to spend and less profitable to sell your laptop and buy something you like better.

The key Code is integrated into the BIOS for Windows 8 systems. If you keep the same hard drive, it will work even with a new motherboard. The key Code incorporated in the new Board of Directors will be just activate as soon as you connect to the Internet.

Upgrade memory will "work". You will not have to change anything.

If you need a copy of the service manual or any other information post back.

  • upgrade laptop computer DV7 AMD cpu of two to four hearts

I have a HP DV7 4xxxus (I forgot the exact model number is not at home) with a Dual AMD Phenom II N620 processor 2.80 GHz and was thinking about upgrading to a processor 2.20 GHz AMD Phenom II Quad N970. I've read enough up to this point to ensure that it is possible, but what other factors should I be aware of? I know that this model had a tendency to overheat, but I personally have never had my overheating at the stop. I keep the back elevated to get more air and took part more than once to clean the fan and replace the thermal compound (Arctic Silver) without incident. I use my machine mainly for the compilation of the Android ROM, so believe me when I say that this machine were put to the test the way the most extreme I can think of (the two hearts run at near 100% for hours at a time). I build these Roma back to back sometimes, and my laptop turns on for a period of days. I know it's clearer at the fair and buy new, but this machine gave me good years of use, and if I could find a good deal on a processor, I'd be willing to give it a try. Both processors have the same characteristics (2.0 MB of L2 cache, bus front end to 1 333 MHz, 35W 3.6 gigatransfers per second), so I don't foresee any problems on that front, but what the BIOS? It will need to be updated? Where can I find a viable for this new processor bios update? Can I upgrade the GPU as well? There are other concerns that I think not? Any help would be appreciated...

    Here's the appropriate Manual:

    Manual

The N970 is supported. You don't need to update the BIOS or something. The motherboard is configured to use this processor. It is generally advisable to reload the operating system after an upgrade of major processor that Windows can have parameters of system based on the original processor and you can lose some of the benefits of the upgrade if you do load a new OS, but apart from that there is nothing really to do.

  • upgrading laptop HP 630 processor

Please what do I need to upgrade my laptop CPU current:

model LH359EA with pentium R processor P6200 2.13 GHz to an i3 or i5 processor.

Can I buy accessories of processor and install directly?

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

The best processor you can install is an Intel Dual Core i5 - 2540 M 2.60 GHz (turbo SC until 3.30 GHz; 3.0-)
    MB L3 cache, 35 W)

Yes, it is a 'fast' replacement, and if you can follow the manual, you can open it and swap the processors.

This is the CPU on eBay:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/Intel-Core-i5-2540M-SR044-2-6GHz-CPU-3MB-5GT-s-PGA988-CPU0006-/151357531224?PT=CPUs&hash=item233d9ca458

It is not the best thing to do. I encourage you to consider an upgrade of RAM or SSD drive before you try to change a processor, but the bottom line is that it is possible and in your case, would probably produce a good speed improvement.

  • HP Envy 15 x 360 Pc: upgrading laptop

I searched for updates to my laptop to run a little faster. I was looking for a replacement processor which was quicker or a better GPU option. If there is no option for hardware upgrades please let me know.

    Thank you.

Envy 15-u010dx x 360 is the model and there simply aren't very easy upgrade options. Here is the Service Manual:

    x 360 manual

The processor and the video are soldered directly to the motherboard and all motherboards available different use graphics Intel HD 4400 so there is no improvement in the game available at any price. The maxxes memory 8 GB and you are already there.

There's an i3, i5 and i7 motherboard and you have the i5. Motherboards for these are going to cost an arm and a leg and are very difficult to install so it would be cheaper to sell your laptop and buy something else if it does not meet your needs.

You could install an SSD and it would speed it up a little (but not the video), but even this upgrade is not too easy to do but at least in the realm of reason. After the back if you want to try. Your bottleneck is disk hard very slow rom of 5400 and low-end Intel graphics.

    Hello

Not like office, almost all laptops have soldred CPU from the motherboard. Change of CPU implies a change of the motherboard or the entire machine. On the other hand, you don't win much, wouldn't that CPU. Need more RAM, new video card...

It is much cheaper to buy a new machine.

    Kind regards

  • Upgrade laptop computer Ram

I have a hp laptop 1301 tx and I want to know my upgradation ram on the properties I have seen my type of ram is D 1333 ram and I ordered for kingston 2 GB ram which has

    Type of memory: 2 GB (64 x 256 MB) 1333 MHz DDR3 SO-DIMM

    Memory StandardDR3-1333/PC3-10600

It will work with my laptop?

    Yes, it works perfectly.

Since you have a 64-bit operating system, you might have installed a 4 GB chip and had 6 GB.

One day you can install 2 x 4 GB and 8 GB if you want.

Here is the link to the service manual. Procedures for removal and replacement of memory are in Chapter 4.
