    @SorryHPbuyer

I don't know what model said you it not available for, but HP still stocks recovery disc for many machines to Vista (not all), most Windows 7 and of course Windows 8 machines.

I guess you have a XP or Vista early model? In this scenario, you should be able to get here:

The only manual that I could find is one that covers the ze5600.

See if it will work for your model too.

I have a workbook (new), and the system has just updated to W10 threshold release 2. I had the laptop with a 1 TB drive. Is there a report/calculation of compression that can tell me if I have so much disk space used = size of the flash drive to buy?

I want to buy a decent flash player, there is a quite a price difference between 16/32/64 GB.

    Thank you

When you start the HP Recovery Media Creator, he will tell you what storage capacity must have the USB flash drive.

  • How to remove a bad installation of my laptop recovery Partition Win7

I messed up by trying a "clean install" Win7 (on top of my Acer Vista laptop existing) by installation first on the laptop Acer recovery Partition and then try to correct the mistake by another facility on a data partition (in the hope that the installer would be smart enough to remove the previous installation - it was not!).  I was perplexed because under Vista, installing Windows has always been on C:, and the Acer recovery Partition was on D:.  When Win7 installer prompted me which drive to install on the first time, it offered me Acer C: and D: data, I place the reversal, so I just opted for C: and then found he had installed next to the Acer software, so somehow, disk partitions appear to have been involved.

The net result is now I have two installations of Win7 and a dual boot black screen that gives me the choice to start at startup.

Is there a way I can uninstall Win7 since the Recovery of Acer partition (preferably keeping the Acer software stored there, as I want to reinstall some of them later)?

I burn the software Acer on a DVD, and then format the recovery partition.  You will have to boot from the Windows 7 DVD to format the partition, Windows can sometimes be a bit psychotic, but this isn't sucidal.  You are unable to format a partition with an operating system installed on it.  When you burned the DVD with the Acer software, start from the Win7 DVD, choose custom installation and once the two partitions are visible, choose delete the recovery partition, and then re-create.  Once done and back in Win7, you can then copy the back Acer DVD software.

You will also need to change the boot loader, right-click on my computer, choose Properties.  On the next screen, select advanced system settings, and then click the Advanced tab and startup and recovery.  Remove the o/s is no longer needed.

  • Recovery will remove both my hard drives?

    The title says it all.

I'm hoping to be able to reinstall vista on my Pavilion dv7-1170eo. Because it's what seems like two disks hard - one to drive D:, and then for C: and E: drive (reprise) - I was wondering if the factory settings recovery would remove all data on the D: drive.

Specifications: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01588744 : say that it's 2 x 250 GB, so I think it should not delete the D: drive, but this whole factory settings thing was a little worried.

    So, please help.

That is a good question. It shouldn't because the operating system is installed on the primary drive, not the hard disk secondary or detached.  I'm not going to just and say that it will not.

If you're really worried, it's a very simple procedure to remove the secondary hard disk, and then insert it after the resumption.

  • Driver webcam missing / uninstalled the HP Pavilion dv2520ee laptop. Where to download?

Installed Windows 7 Professional on HP Pavilion dv2520ee laptop, including the old OS is Vista Home Premium. The next day, I found the HP webcam missing, both with the devices & printers, devices and complete notebook Manager. I tried to reinstall the original OS from Vista Home Premium again, but not found webcam driver of recovery either disk! What I'd do & where can I find the webcam driver, for Vista or Windows 7, which can be downloaded for that HP Pavilion webcam functional again please?

    Dear Erico,

Thanks for the tips on how to get the ID of the hardware in the Device Manager.

However, my problem of "not to see imaging device & HP Pavilion webcam under Device Manager" had solved with kind guidance & directions of Dragon fur Professor, posted on 09/02/12.

Please see this link for the original post: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Notebook-PC-Questions/webcam-driver-missing/m-p/1259025/highlight/true#M38057

    I followed the following steps:

1 the performance of my recovery disk of Vista Home Premium (downgrade my laptop Windows 7 Professional to Vista to find the original HP driver); but flashed at the end of the recovery notification that "missing pilot ' couldn't is located on the computer or disk, so Please reinsert the recovery disc.

    2. I then updated my laptop two updates via Windows and HP.

3 and finally, by judgment of my laptop, the removal of all connections and the battery as well, according to the original post the details given on the link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02452221

    4. the connection of the battery, I pressed the sign market for 10 seconds and then restarted my laptop again.

Bravo for the Professor Dragon fur, because device image and its link to HP Pavilion webcam icon "reappear" in Device Manager.

I have now re-installed Windows 7 Professional and also installed HP Support Assistant from this link: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=ex_r602_go_hpsupportassistant#.UMh73uRtjfY

See how my HP Pavilion dv2520ee PC laptop and Windows 7 professional shows functional compatibility! So far so good after 24 hours.

  • HP pavilion Dv6 laptop: does not start in normal mode, safe mode

    Hi all

I have HP Pavilion DV6 laptop with windows 7 Home premium 64-bit OS. It was working fine up until two or three days.

After that some software upgrades, it has stopped booting.   When I tried to start it in safe mode, it stops at disk.sys.

I don't have win 7 OS CD or recovery CD.  So I downloaded the trail version of windows 7 SP1, I want to install this, but he is suspended the windows logo.  I Googled it has bitten, I loaded a linux kernel and access the hard disk.  I backed up all the files required by using this boot of linux.

I don't know what to do now?  What is the problem with my system. When I ran the drive diagnostic. It was a failure. That means that I can't use this HARD drive?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Concerning

    Stéphane

    Hi stephane,

Well the error code certainly would indicate that the player began to fail, but just in case, you might try to wipe the entire hard drive first and then reinstalling the operating system as described below.

Download and install Killdisk on the link below - (this application will write zeros to the entire disk).

    http://Software.LSoft.net/KillDiskSuiteFree-Setup.exe

Download and install ImgBurn on the link below.

    http://download.CNET.com/ImgBurn/3000-2646_4-10847481.html

Access the application of disc kill you have installed in all programs, open the main folder, then select Bootable Disk creators, then the BACK Bootable CD Creator that will burn the ISO on a blank CD bootable.

During the following process do not worry about all warnings as your Windows 7 installation disk will reformat the HARD drive.

Insert this CD into your PC which is unable to load the operating system properly. Close Notepad, and then start again to boot from the CD of Killdisk and follow the instructions on the screen to kill disk.

A brief description of the process here is Killdisk.

Use it to wipe the entire hard drive, Select (80 h) and press f10 (you will also need to type a confirmation and press enter) - ( This will make sure to include all of the partitions , and then start the process - this may take a few hours!).

When the process is complete, remove the CD of Killdisk and try to reinstall Windows 7.

If it still does not work, I think your only option is to replace the HARD drive.

    Kind regards

15 - e020tx is the model and there a processor i7 and switchable graphics with Radeon HD 8670 so it is pretty high-end as laptops go, but it's what they are. On laptops in general in most cases, including your case, no video 'card is' to be removed, replaced or upgraded. She is soldered directly to the motherboard. There is no way to upgrade in other words.

  • Portege Z830: Create the recovery and removal on SSD USB recovery partition?

    Hello

I already found a lot of discussions around the question how to increase free space on the SSD drive.

Is it possible to remove the recovery partition after you create a recovery key USB with the tool 'Create a Toshiba Recovery media'?
    No risk?

If it would be possible, how it is possible to assign the space gained on the C: partition?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

    > Is an option to remove the recovery partition after you create a recovery key USB with the tool 'create a Toshiba Recovery media "?
    > No risk?

Well, the recovery partition would create again when the laptop recovery procedure using disk recovery or the flash memory stick recovery

So if you want to remove the 2nd partition, you must create this disc/USB stick recovery before changing something on the HARD drive.

  • can not get the new hard drive to work in the Pavilion ze4805us laptop

have an HP pavilion ze4805us laptop which had a total hard drive failure... recovery disks were lost in a fire... replaced the hard drive with a Western Digital 250 GB drive... computer recognizes the drive, but with only 137 GB... impossible to obtain the Windows Millennium disk to install... I have it get the PXE - E61 error code... have looked for answers and tried a few suggestions to fix the error code, but no luck so far... would like to throw this laptop and runs again, it was so nice all in operation. Can someone help me with this? Thanks to all in advance... rrcar6

At the level of the BIOS, HARD drive should show the full capacity regardless of the distribution, but it will be limited based on what the current logical block installed the BIOS supports.  For example, the 250 GB HDD Needs LBA 48 bit to be recognized by the BIOS in its entirety.  Western Digital only provides downloads of software and support going back to Windows XP.  Windows Millennium Edition is not able to recognize the full capacity of the drive.  Finding drivers compatible with Windows ME is perhaps another challenge that XP uses a different architecture than Windows ME done.

It seems that this laptop is the same time that the books mentioned in this thread.  Response from JackShack gives the best explanation as to why he shows quite different in the BIOS.  It has been many years, but I do not remember that the capacity of the HARD disk had exceeded what the BIOS at the time supported resulting in the 137 GB limit displayed in the BIOS.  This section of Western Digital shows that this problem is related to the operating system or BIOS supporting however, this should not prevent Windows to install correctly.

I'm sure it's already done, as it was not a new BIOS since 2004, but guarantee the newest BIOS is installed.  Logical block address 48 bits, necessary for the larger disks (larger for the time) was released in 2003.  The 2004 related BIOS earlier than probably took supported LBA.  What is the current version of BIOS?

What is the exact message that you get when you try to install Windows Millennium Edition?
