HP Pavilion b000no-13 upgrade RAM, problem with disassembly.

Hello!

I recently bought a HP Pavilion 13-b000no (I think that it is a "Europe/Scandinavia" model only) and have decided that I want to add 4 GB of additional ram (I checked that it is compatible).

I searched all over the internet for the same model or similar on how to open it, but have not found anything useful. I then tried to do it myself, located all the screws unscrewed the but found that I couldn't open the back plastic without a chance to break.

Here are some pictures of my attempt (too big files so had to use imgur).

In yellow are all visible screws that I could find.

Red, four additional screws under stickers (down two don't have behind them).

Green is where I could "pry" open less than an inch and see the internal parts.

Top of page interim sticker had no screws under.

Here is a better view of the area where I could lift open the plastic a bit.

View of the keyboard where I can't find any place to 'pop' to the top (sorry for the finger) plastic.

I tried to find a similar cell phone sold in the United States and this one comes pretty close, he has the same coverage as mine by the look of it.

I appreciate all the help I can get!

Thanks in advance!

OK, here's my problem. I had Windows Vista, has been sick with it. As you say you are not a noob so maybe you need to change something in the NVIDIA Control Panel. Maybe go to the advanced option when you're at NVIDIA.

Personally when I clean installs I delete, and format the entire disk before installing W7. Doing it this way usually prevents this kind of error occurs. When you use the W7 install disk to format, it may not remove all of the old files registry Vista and can cause problems.

If you start from scratch once again, this may solve your problem, but there is no guarantee.

It took 4 tries on my HDX from Vista to W7 to do things.

I just took a glance at my NVIDIA advanced and under Show options there is an option to "manage custom resolutions. Here I could input what I wanted. What's your has that?

  • Pavilion Notebook PC 15-079er: problems with sleep and shutdown 15-n079er HP Pavilion Notebook PC.

    Hello world

I have a huge problem with my Pavilion. I used Windows 8.1 earlier, and I decided to upgrade to Windows 10. I did not like something (can't remember what) and decided to return to Windows 8.1. Almost a year passed, I am again on Windows 10. But if I SLEEP my computer:

    • Screen goes black, everything seems normal.
    • No matter how long wait, fan keeps spinning and power LED, LED Wi - Fi on.
    • Keyboard input does not help. Does not meet what it is.
    • The only thing left to do - stop hard.

And if I shut down the operating system:

    • Windows normally stops, close all applications, screen goes black.
    • Fan on, led on.

I did not notice these problems with restarting and the hibernation.

Two things I've done in this gap of the year:

    • Replacement screen. An old broke. Thanks to my cat...
    • Formatted the drive. I don't think it would do anything diffirent.

So, any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

On some machines, the pilot for 11 series IMEI has been known to cause that kind of question of the judgment, so it may be worth trying an earlier version.

You can use the following method to install an earlier version of the driver IMEI.

Download driver IMEI on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp66001-66500/sp66228.exe

Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).

Open your download folder and run the installer - it warns you that it is an earlier version, but simply continue.

    When finished, restart the laptop.

If the computer shuts down correctly, turn on your wireless adapter and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the driver IMEI again.

    I have a Pavilion 15-P035NF (J1Y40EA #ABF) with 1 RAM memory 4 GB DDR3L 1600.

I would like to upgrade. But before disassembling the laptop (not simple operation) I would like to know if I have one or two slots available, as such, I can go (16 GB?) and what type of RAM is compatible.

I don't see it in the system of the free laptop because it broke down (my laptop age: 1.5 years...) and I need to replace the hard drive (by a SSD).

  • Pavilion Elite HPE-170 t: problem with the new HP DH16D5S DVD ROM drive

My office is a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-170 t.  I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  I have two HP optical dirives, one is a writer, and the other is just a DVD ROM  Both have always worked perfectly with Windows 7.  After you have installed Windows 10 continuous burner work very well works correctly with autoplay.  However, the DVD - ROM, HP DH16D5S, immediately began using autoplay.  Actually the drive was not yet recognized as a drive when you view the drives in the file Explorer.  Finally, it would seem, sometimes taking also longer than 5 minutes or more before doing so and then would work very well.  I tried different types of media, including music CD, DVD video and DVD software with the same results.  I assumed that it was a problem with the drive, maybe a bad capacitor, etc., which was originally not start correctly.  So I ordered a new DH160D5S, but which seems to have been a waste of time and money, because it does exactly the same thing as the original.  I even changed the cables autour between it and the burner, but it made no difference.  The burner still works fine but not DVD ROM.  I tried to find a more recent driver for it, but had no chance.  I found on a Dell website for this drive which was an update of the firmware for Windows Vista and Windows 7, but not for Windows 10.  I advanced and downloaded, but when I tried to run, I got the message: "your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update.  Update has been canceled. »

I want to try a different brand of DVD ROM, but would have to buy one without knowing if it would help.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Since I posted this message I discovered that there is a driver problem with this DVD ROM.  There's no driver available yet to make the drive compatible with Windows 10.  Since then, I returned the drive and replaced by another brand that is compatible with Windows 10.

  • HP Pavilion 15-p247sa 15.6 ": problem with Hybernation - HP Pavillion

    Hello

I have problems with my HP Pavilion laptop since update to Windows 10 a few weeks ago.

My laptop works fine until I hit the power button or close the lid to hibernate the PC. When I try to wake up the PC by re-opening the lid or hitting the power button / nothing happens, the light on the power button is still on but the PC won't start and the screen remains blank. I have to remove the battery and put again before hitting the power button to restart the computer, even if it isn't a critical error it's boring and inconvienant to reboot the PC in this way, because it's a total system reboot.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Jamie

No worries that the fix was found a lot of people have had this problem proceed as follows.

HOW to SOLVE SLEEP/STOP/set Hibernate ISSUES

    1. Download version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.

    2. Download the Package of troubleshooting Windows 10 "show or hide updates" (http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab).
    3. Change the Windows Update Services automatic (delayed start) parameter to the manual.
      • In Control Panel, select administrative tools, and open Services.
      • Go to Windows Update and double-click it to view its properties.
      • Click on stop to stop the service to run.
      • Change the Startup Type to manual, and then click OK.
    4. Install version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  If you receive a warning dialog box about the replacement of a newer version of the software, accept it.
      • NOTE: You have NO need to uninstall version 11 before installing version 9 or 10.  The presence of a version of the driver is required to 'upgrade' (or demote in this case).
    5. Run the Windows 10 Troubleshooting Package 'Show or hide updates' and hide the updates of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  (This will block your system automatically reinstall or display of updates for version 11 of the pilot).
    6. Change back the setting of Windows Update Services to manual automatic (delayed start).
    7. Restart your computer.
    8. Rejoice!  You can finally sleep, stop and hibernate again.  hope this helps

It is the 15-n233sl model and the plug you have 6 GB. See page 42 of the manual here:

    Repair manuals

The manual indicates that it takes up to 12 GB which is a 4 GB and 8 GB module to the module but regularly, users have reported success with 2 x 8 GB for a total of 16 concerts. For most of the users 8 GB is a lot and it would mean just remove the module from 2 gig you have now and its replacement by a 4 GB. What that you choose to do I would have 2 modules size even for enable support dual channel. 8 concerts running dual channel is likely to be just as good as 12 concerts running in single channel due to incompatible modules. • HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad problem with graphics switchable

    -HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad

    -Win7 64-bit

-Can not pass an Intel HD 3000 and Radeon 6770

I recently had a problem with my computer that I solved it by using a recovery disk to do a clean install of windows.  When I was running, I noticed that when I right click on the desktop I no longer get the switchable graphics configuration option.

I started by redownloading from the site Web of AMD catalyst control center.  For some reason any installing this forced my resolution of 800 x 600 instead of 1366 x 768.  I drove back on two graphics cards drivers and that fixed my resolution.  I went to the HP website and updated all drivers related to graphics cards.  However, the CCC gave an error message saying that it detects all the drivers AMD.  At this point, I uninstalled CCC and other AMD software on the system, and I'm a little stuck.

I can't download CCC again because it seems to mess up the resolution, but it seems to me to need to change graphics cards.

    Hello TacitRonin,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand that you are not able to re - install the CCC that there is a problem with the resolution with its installation, and I'd be happy to help you!

To re - install correctly CCC, I recommend to delete the entire AMD driver on your computer and re - install. To do this, remove the software from programs and features.

Once the driver is then deleted, please remove the driver from Device Manager by following this document on Uninstall or reinstall a device. This should help to re - install your CCC program to your laptop.

In addition, I also suggest to use the re HP Recovery Manager - install the supplied with your laptop original drivers. This can done by following this document on the use of the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7).

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

  • Pavilion dv4-2170-us has problem with connection light display

The cover on my laptop seems to have a bad connection, because I have to play with the angle to get the screen to

show anything.  Sound very, very delicate.

Is this something that can be fixed by a tech or should I get a new laptop?  I'm asking because there is another nother

problem with function of my computer.

    HI @compugirl ,

I understand this thing you display may have a bad connection that you have to play with, then fish on the screen to show the line.

Want to know if this could be fixed by a tech.  The short answer is Yes.  Here is a link to 2009decembre 17 December 17, 2009 HP Pavilion dv4 Entertainment PC Maintenance and Service of Guide. Please note Chapter 3 page 3 for a list of the replacement screens supported by number of the part.

It may just be a connections loose as you said, either a bad connection cable...  The cable may have become defective through the opening and closing of notebook, during normal use.  Please note Chapter 4 page 27 for the removal of the screen procedure.  Before considering the replacement of the screen, I would try a new cable first to exclude it.  You should be able to buy the cable to any computer supply store.

    I hope this has helped.

  • Pavilion 15-n023cl: Windows 10 problem with AMD graphics card laptop Pavillion

Upgrade to Windows 10, but it can only function in Mode without failure.  Installation seemed to go very well.  At the start of Windows 10 for the first time, developed the background of the desktop and the taskbar, but not the icons on the desktop.  When I put the cursor on the task bar, it shows that the system is busy.  The screen flashes then between black and the wallpaper image, with the bar to come a fraction of a second before the background image of the tasks.  These images alternate with an interval of one second.

Microsoft advised me to update my graphics driver, but the system shows that I have the latest version of the driver for the AMD graphics card.  Any advice?

Found the problem.  The 8510 G AMD Radeon HD display device is not compatible with Windows 10.  Only the 8570 and higher series models are compatible.  It would be good if HP had some sort of program or advice to help us Pavilion 15-n230cl owners spend so we can run Windows 10.  Restored Windows 8, everything is back to normal.
