HP Pavilion dm1-4000au Entertainment Notebook PC_Keyboard and Touchpad suddenly stopped working

Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dm1-4000au Entertainment Notebook PC (QG411PA) running Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit for more than two years already. During these periods so far, whenever my laptop is idle for an hour or two, the keyboard and the touchpad suddenly stops working, without worrying if his operation on battery or AC.

I always ensure that I have an external mouse in order for me to navigate correctly and pull up the screen keyboard to type when this issue arises.

Everything seems to be updated regarding the Windows updates and I even reformatted, but issue persists.

What point particular I feel a harware problem? Maybe a software problem? Or maybe a defective model?

Steps to drain the static charge and load the BIOS default settings to solve the problem

Step 01. Turn off the laptop

Step 02. Disconnect the power/AC adapter and also remove the battery too

Step 03. Press and hold the power button of the laptop for a minute

Step 04. Now re - insert the battery back in and plug again the power supply/adapter

Step 05. Start Notepad and keep pressing the F10 key during startup to access the BIOS

Step 06. Once you get the BIOS, please press F5 or F9 key to load the default settings for the BIOS

Step 07. Now press ESC/ESC. Save Changes and Exit - Yes

Step 08. Now, please wait until the unit load the Windows operating system

Now please download and reinstall the drivers from the touchpad for your laptop on the Site of HP Support

    My USB connected Microsoft USB Bluetooth mouse and keyboard suddenly stopped working today. After researching everything I could, I didall that I could find as a possible solution that has been:

    • Update of the chipsets
    • Uninstalling usb in Device Manager and reboot devices

    • Reformatting and reinstalling Windows 7

    I have solved my problem. For later use, if anyone has this problem and no other solution seems not work; That's what I did.

    I bought a USB 2 ports PCI card and installed in my computer, then go back to Windows XP. While my original front and rear USB ports still recognize a flash drive, they do not recognize the keyboard or USB mouse, make ports PCI card. I had also updated ALL the updates of windows on the site, not the auto update available on the desktop. Although I don't know the cause, I am certain that somewhere, something was is altered by the hardware or software, and my default USB ports do not recognize mouse or keyboards.

    Another piece of knowledge in case anyone is interested; I use a card mother gigabyte s-series and my nvidia video card GeForce previously is no longer recognized in the port, it would cause my computer go into a State of hibernation and the monitor would go into "Analog Power Saving Mode". The only solution was to spend a friend with my video card. (Its graphics card is a GeForce 9800 GTX, mine was a GeForce 9800 GT. No reason why it should make a difference.) According to me, even if my computer is less than two years old, I was sold a bad mother. I read online cases in other forums for technical support of people having the same problem. Gigabyte motherboards stop random ports for no known reason.

  • User and password suddenly stop working - osX Server

    Hello.

    All of a sudden the password <>my > admin > user stops working.

    I installed for my mac mini Server - adds a new user - and then I get the message that the library should be repaired. But then I am not able to use the user < admin > with its < password > do nothing, because it does not what it is.

    Any experiences, solutions, info for this out there?

    I have a serious problem in my Satellite A300-243. I installed a driver for external keyboard using a CD and once I rebooted both keyboard and touchbpad stopped working and to make any order, when I reached the vista welcome page.
    What should I do because you know that even if I can't get into the windows to uninstall this driver.

    Why you installed a driver for external keyboard? I've never heard of such drivers

    Anyway, you should try to start in safe mode and then you are able to remove driver external keyboard to the list of software. After I restarted in normal mode, the keyboard and the touchpad should work properly again.

    I just upgraded to an old BB to a Palm Pixi curve. I received my new phone, September 27, 2010... two days later, after normal use (IE send SMS, call & photos) alerts stopped working completely. I've never used helmet on this phone either. I called my service provider and they sent me a new Pixi, I got three days ago. Well this afternoon, while sitting in my pocket, exactly the same thing happened as the other Pixi. (Again, I've never used helmet) I can listen to music through external speakers, I can play ringtones if I open them and play them manually... but whenever I get a call or a text will make my phone just vibrate, also my alarm will not work (sound) and neither my calendar alerts. I have all the audio settings turned 'on '. I have even system sounds turned to 'on', but that they will not play (sound when you take a photo or take a map on the screen)... no sound on my apps game either. I really like this phone, but I am so tempted to go back to my old BB curve. If someone had this problem? Is - this fixable or should I just a get a new Pixi?

    Have you checked the switch to ring on the top of the unit next to the power button? You see red showing; If so he switch in reverse if you don't see red. The unit is vibrating mode in the position, and all sound is disabled.

    Yes, I'm going to clarify a bit before you go.
    I ran clean on my laptop, turned off non-essential startup programs and done everything I could think to preform better, but nothing helped.
    At the moment, I have chrome open with 6 tabs, Skype and League of open captions, as well as a few background programs such as Norton and Intel GMA HD Task manager said that he uses about 10% of my CPU, but about 60% of my memory. everything else on my computer seems to work perfectly, so what I'm wondering is if I upgraded the RAM in this laptop from 4 GB to 8 GB, if this would signifigantly increase performance.

    I've been watching little ram to replace with if this would work, but I'm near clueless when it comes to computers, especially the RAM, like not committing almost $100 in something only to find out it did nothing.

    This is the ram, I was looking to buy, which is PNY Optima PC3-10666 DDR3 SoDIMM 2 x 4 GB RAM that looks like $80, and I would like to know if it would work in my computer, and if it would solve my problems.

    Hello! I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3150us Entertainment Notebook that works under Windows 7. Last week, I traveled with him in Florida, and when I arrived and tried to turn on the laptop, it wouldn't start.     Assuming that the hard drive has a style of mbr, system partition contains startup files and the Windows recovery environment and it is quite normal to show him the fragmentation - that partition should not be défragmentée, because it can cause problems with the loading of Windows.

    My usb ports on my HP Pavilion dv7-6b56nr Entertainment Notebook PC do not work.    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.  Product # A1T84UA.  No matter what I do, I can't get to work.  When I go into the Device Manager it shows a conflict.  When I try to update the drivers, he says that they are up-to-date.  I even tried to do a full system recovery, and if it was not for an image that I saved my computer would become a paper weight.  I am grateful, that he's back running.
