Windows 7 is a commercial product, you must purchase a license. It is not available for free.

You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? • Qosmio X 300 - 15U - key product for Windows 7 upgrade disc

    Hi all
    first post here :)

I have a Qosmio X 300 15U and just bought DVD update for the operating system: to Vista64 for Windows 7 (home premium).
I got it by Toshiba Windows 7 upgrade site.

I installed the upgrade and it works fine, so far.
Only possible problem for the future, is that I can't find product key label Windows 7 attached to the case of paper (probably lost) DVD
I have the DVD (for other series, almost...)

Anyone know if it is possible to make the Toshiba support, send my old Windows 7 key product or a new (only in the case of reinstall...)
It also appears that Microsoft has validated my install via their tool (WGA, I think)
I have to go back to using MS (paid), for such a (simple, for me) case?
    Hope not.

    Thank you very much.

    Bye,.

    Diego

I don't know if Toshiba can send you a new label productkey, you must call the assistance service. But to find your product, you need a key research tool.

Your laptop comes with a Windows 8.1 key and that's what you bought according to your post.

You must purchase a license from Microsoft or a supplier activation key.

The key to Windows inlegible sticker, want to reinstall windows

What can I do if I can't read that the key is for Windows because of the part of the key on the sticker has rubbed off and must be re-installed Windows?  The product ID is located under the control panel > system maintenance > system > Windows Activation of a useful?  I don't want to end up with a Clipboard after that reinstalling Windows because I have a legitimate copy of Windows, but the key became disfigured over time, since it's on the bottom of the laptop.  I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2 running on a Dell Inspiron it's way outside the guarantee of its window.

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you have a product key on a sticker in your computer, this means that you have an OEM product key. If you have OEM keys, this means that the windows you have here is preinstalled.

If you reinstall windows OEM copy, you must use either the original manufacturer recovery disk or the recovery partition. If you use one of the people, should not be put to any start-up because the windows OEM versions are technically preactivated.

If you don't have a disc or a recovery partition, you can contact your OEM (DELL) so that they can send you a disk. Alternatively, you can contact Microsoft Support just in case. : D

  • I don't have my key code for windows. My dealer doesn't have either. How can I retrieve the key code number?

I don't have my key code for windows (registration card was not with the computer when I bought it).  My carrier apparently deleted the key during my computer repair code.  My retailer where I purchased the computer didn't either.  How can I retrieve my key code number?

The Windows product key is usually displayed on the sticker on the underside of the computer.

However, you can also get it by running the Belarc Advisor or the Magic Jellybean Key Finder.

Google for one of those and you will find them.

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

  • Need a code product key for a change of hard drives. I need key product for the motherboard too?

computer, I took the hard drive was an emachine with Windows XP home. I had another computer in a place away from giving old IBM computers with no working or deleted hard drives. I put the hard drive of the computer and now its wanting a product key code. I don't know where the original XP product key is for the moment. I do not know what is the product key for the motherboard because it was a used computer. If this does not work, what are my options for access to the info on my hard drive another way?

The license for installing XP on an eMachines computer will be an OEM is restricted to use on this computer. It cannot be moved to an another computer/motherboard.

If you want to make true on the new computer, first check and see if this computer has a COA OEM sticker on the case.

If so, then you have use the product key update tool to change the key and then probably activate by phone.

If this isn't the case, then your only hope is to see if you can find a reputable provider with stock of XP Home and purchase who then use the tool to update product key with the new key.

  • Additional product for Windows 7 key

I received a copy of Windows 7 as a gift and I would like to install it on my laptop as well as my office.  Is there a way to just buy an additional product key, rather than up a new set for Windows 7?  If so, how much are they?

A gift? It cannot be considered as a gift if there is no product key. It's really just a couple of the discs. You will need to buy another copy. The best place is the Microsoft store where you can buy this in download and no download, just use the product key that you get. You will need to know what version of your disks are.

  • HP Pavilion 17-g053us: g053us hp format for windows 7

I'm debating buying a HP Pavilion g053us 17 loaded with Windows 10.   However, I do like NOT all spyware/privacy on Windows 10 issues, and until Microsoft fixes them I can stay with my laptop Windows 7 older HP's existing.   Microsoft will give me a free upgrade of Windows 10 until July 29, 2016, so I have a lot of time to decide...

My question is since I have a Windows 7 Ultimate installation disk, this PC can be formatted and equipped with Windows 7 Ultimate?  A shop selling the 17-g053us did not understand what I have spoke and could not tell me if there is a drivers/recovery disk included in the box with the new PC!   Another Member of the staff of store insisted it could not be done period.

SO: If I own a Windows 7 installation disc, CAN the HP Pavilion 17 - g053us be restored for Windows 7 Ultimate?   Windows 7 GENERALLY find all need drivers on a REINSTALL... but if not, are Windows 7 compatible drivers available or in the box of the new laptop (including drivers... recovery disks)  or online at HP? Thanks for any help.

For Windows 10 data collection, you can manually, turn off a lot of that through settings.

But, if you want to really turn everything off, then watching in a freeware product called to destroy Windows 10 spying.  I installed it on my system Win10 and this one really turn off all the monitoring and telemetry.  You can find regularly posted on this Web site: MajorGeeks.com - download of Freeware and Shareware computer utilities.

As for questions of Win7, this laptop comes with installed Win7, if HP carries drivers Win7.  See the link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-17-Notebook-PC-series/7771368/model/8429740#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1

Note: IF this link does not display a Win7 for you, then click on EDIT and select Windows 7.

You can certainly to reformat the hard drive and install any Win7 for which you have the DVD installation and license - including Ultimate.  There is no driver or the recovery disk came with the laptop, you can get by contacting HP customer service.

  • Pavilion Media Center M8400f Bios Update for Windows 7

HP Pavilion Media Center m8400f. The Vista operating system has been replaced by Windows 7 (64 bit) a number of years.

I've updated one of my hard drives with a SanDisk SSD (it is now my main drive with the operating system and all my files on board).

The bios on the PC has never been updated.

The SanDisk SSD dashboard software will not recognize the SanDisk SSD as the system has designated the SSD as a SCSI device. I need to access the bios for this change to AHCI. The current bios does not support this.

The PC has a card mother MCP61PM-HM. There is no update for Windows 7 BIOS for that motherboard I know (updates Vista only).

SanDisk gave me a link to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-82094-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&... that shows a card mother M2P61PM-HM for m8400f desktop PC. This Bios download supports Windows 7 (64 bit).

Can update the Bios to download safely a card mother M2P61PM-HM for card mother MCP61PM-HM I currently have?

    Hello

The HP BIOS update link provided SanDisk is an update of the BIOS of your PC. It is listed under Win Vista 64 bit driver downloads here.

If you look at the site to download the drivers for your PC you'll only see driver support for Win Vista but on 2010-04-08, Version 5.29, 1.47 M BIOS updatedshows support for Win 7.

But the problem is this: the BIOS updates must be performed using the PC operating system comes with; in your case, Win Vista. Extreme care must be exercised when updating the BIOS under normal circumstances. I would not classify your situation as usual.

I saw others download an update of the BIOS for their PC and try to install an operating system upgraded with disastrous effects. The PC was bricked.

Be prepared for the worst case if you try to install the update to the BIOS.

Page pilot multimedia HP Pavilion dv6-6011tx laptop lists the drivers for windows 7 (32 and 64 bit), but I seriously need drivers for windows 8/8.1 to 6011tx. Help, please.

    Hello:

Your model is not supported for W8/8.1 by HP.

You should be able to use all the W8 x 64 drivers and software for this model.

DO NOT USE ALL DOWNLOADS OF BIOS OR FIRMWARE FROM THIS LINK

  • x 61-sticker key product replacement windows?

I bought a thinkpad x 61 on eBay. There is a product key sticker on its underside, but there was also another key product in a CD cover. The thinkpad has W7 top so I think the sticker in the CD cover is for W7 and one on the bottom for an older version of Windows (XP, probably).

I checked the validity of these two keys, and only the W7 worked. I got the XP sticker on the underside of the laptop. I don't think it's possible to get a sticker product key replacement for the W7 to stick on the thinkpad (that of the CD cover has seen better days)?

Maybe I have waaaaaay too much time on my hands, but I'm just curious. I think that an email from begging at Lenovo could be the solution?

ThinkPad X 61 has never been delivered with Windows 7. In addition, Lenovo provide replacement labels. If you really stickers for aesthetic reasons, I suggest eBay is your friend.
