HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b006sa - Windows 8 - black square in Windows 8 mode

When I login, the mosaic of Windows 8 tiles screen has black squares, replacing most of the normal tiles.

I can click in the lower left corner to go in 'old fashioned' windows mode and works well.

But if I try to access all the features of Windows 8, I get garbled graphics, blanks and the black squares.

By example, if I drag the right edge, instead of the usual icons that appear to the right of the screen, I get garbled graphics.

Any ideas how I can fix this problem?

Thank you

-Mark

I got it working now.

Hello, I recently bought Hp Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b011tx. And it came with windows 7. The shopkeeper told me that once I have download and install all updates, the windows will be up upgraded to windows 8. In the meantime, I have a problem that some keyboard shortcuts will not work. I have update problems. Deputy Director HP takes for always looking for updates.

    Hello toka

After further research in your question, I can explain how you can get your computer upgraded to Windows 8.

The laptop came with Windows 7 installed and is not one of the operating systems on the driver page that I suspect those who resell it to you deleted Ubuntu and place a copy of Windows 7 instead. The system cannot automatically update in Windows 8, it must be purchased and installed manually. I would recommend that you go to an electronics store to see if you can buy it and then install the Windows 8 operating system. Once you have purchased a copy of Windows 8 and installed, you can download and install the drivers for Windows 8 on page HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14 - b011tx drivers .

I'm sorry for the confusion with regard to obtaining your HP Pavilion 14 Ultrabook to Windows 8. Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of HP. Have a great day!

  • Pavilion dv6 i3 with Window 7 64-bit. To start the HP logo appears, then I get a black screen

I have a Pavilion dv6 i3 with Window 7 64-bit. To start the HP logo appears, then I get a black screen with a blinking cursor. I ran all the tests start and everything this past. I tried all F8, F9, F10, F11, recovery options with no luck. I tried to start with the ERD Window 7 64 bit I created when I install the laptop. Nothing... I did it with all the disconnected device. No luck. I'm looking for all the options until I re - install windows. I started with the Windows 7 recovery DVD and it reads, but I cancelled the process because it will reformat the hard drive and I expect to work around all the hassels of having settings to reinstall the software, etc.. Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks for the reply. I already tried these steps. I created a bootable floppy that I can get the data on the hard drive and am trying to restore windows to the recpvery of the DVD system that I ordered with the computer. Thank you

  • HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b005ea upgraded CPU + ram + hard drive

HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b005ea on Windows 8 (64-bit)

I want to upgrade my sleekbook processor an i3 to an i5, I also would like to upgrade this laptop computers hdd + ssd cache to an ssd of 256 GB full so that increase the ram of 4 GB to 8 GB. can someone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

    CPU:

    More quick possible:

    Intel Core i5-3317U (1.7 GHz, turbo up to 2.6 GHz 1 600 MHz/3 MB L3 cache, dual core, 17 W)

    You have:

    Intel Core i3-3217U (1.8 GHz, 1 600 MHz / 3 MB L3 cache, dual core, 17 W)

The i3 you have is actually faster for most purposes than the i5, although the i5 has Turbo. I would not bother with this upgrade. It is the most difficult and expensive. The processor seems to be welded on so it would take a whole new motherboard, I'm sorry to say. At least try upgrading memory and SSD before committing to try upgrading the processor.

    Memory and hard drive:

You can install up to 8 GB of RAM and you can install a reader mSATA. However, the memory and the mSATA drive slot are on the back side of motherboard and not easy to do. See Page 59 and transfer to the manual. In general, this model does not have an update very easily. You can replace the hard drive on a regular basis with an SSD without having to remove the motherboard, but it is still much harder than the mobile way. See pages 47-49.

  • HP PAVILION 15-ab115la: Pavilion 15-ab115la: Downgrade Windows 10

    Hello

Last week, I bought a new HP Pavilion, it included 10 windows.

I used to work with Windows 7 and I'would like to downgrade 10 Windows to Windows 7, is it possible? y at - it a disvantages?

Is useful to mention that I have a legal key for Windows 7.

Additional, I know that the Windows 10 key is "embedded" in the BIOS, so if I downgrade to Windows 7, then return to Windows 10, the value of the key will not be required because it's inside the BIOS?

Or should I get the value with a tool?

    Thank you

You're not really downgrading, because Microsoft "Downgrade rights" apply only to Windows Pro/Business. You simply install another version of Windows on your computer. Yes, it's possible! Yes, there are drawbacks... like the lack of support of the HP drivers

Is useful to mention that I have a legal key for Windows 7.

You will need to use a key of unused valid PID and COA legally install Windows 7 on your new PC.

Additional, I know that the Windows 10 key is "embedded" in the BIOS, so if I downgrade to Windows 7, then return to Windows 10, the value of the key will not be required because it's inside the BIOS? Or should I get the value with a tool?

Using the HP recovery media you create before changing anything on the computer... you should have no problem to return the computer to a factory State, if you wish.

  • Pavilion ZV6000 AMD64 Athlon Windows XP error message after you connect to XP continuous reboot

Help!  My Pavilion ZV6000 AMD64 Athlon Windows XP suddenly started a string that I can't stop without turning off the computer.  Immediately after logging on XP, a quick screen comes up with an error, then it immediately goes into a restart.  The screen flashes too fast to read.  I get any user ID that I use.  If I boot in safe mode, I get the same message.  I rebooted on the windows cd, I restored to an earlier date, but nothing helped.  When I try to get deeper, I wonder the administrators password.  I tried all my passwords usual, including "admin" and nothing comes to me to pass the administrators password.  I had this unit since then and have never done any hardware change.  Is it possible to bypass the administrators password?  I'm at a point of trying to re - install windows, but cannot.  Any other help would be appreciated.  The unit was new in Sept 05 and my 3 year extended warranty has just expired.

Of course, here are the steps:

Perform a hard disk of that test

  • HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p206: Windows 8.1 backup

My HP pavilion Nooteboom knows the windows 8.1 operating system. This laptop is to have pre defined 24.4 GB as recovery partition.

Now, I want to take backup of the operating system windows 8.1 in USB key. So I can copy this recovery disk and paste it into the USB key to resume upward.

    Please advise...

You really need to create usb recovery media.

In applications, find HP and under HP, you should see the HP recovery media creation utility. Click on it.

Run the utility and follow the directions.

Once you have created the usb recovery media successfully, you can delete the recovery partition if you feel you must.

  • Must regularly restart the DHCP Client - HP Pavilion 500-205 DT - Windows 7

    HP Pavilion 500-205 DT - Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit SP1

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller - pilot 7.67.1226.2012

Bought 3 identical machines for our daycare. Set up the same. All work fine except ONE of them becomes inaccessible periodically (every day more or less) on other computers on our small LAN-to-peer Windows. You can see, but cannot access any shared folder. To access OTHER computers on the local network of it there is NO problem. All 3 machines have the same profile sharing, workgroup, permissions, AV, firewall, all settings. I realized by restarting the computer solved the problem immediately but temporarily. I reduced to restart the DHCP Client service. Do all works well immediately, but temporarily.

    I tried the things:

Call support HP - not useful at all. It is under warranty.

    IPv6 disabled

    Disabled wireless

Disabled network card stopcock energy saving

Definition of recovery CLIENT DHCP on:

First failure = restarting the Service

Second failure = restarting the Service

Subsequent failures = restarting the Service

Reset Fail Count after = 120

Restart the Service after = 0

But again, this is not the case for other machines with the default settings. Nothing works except the Client DHCP service is restarted. Loss of access occurs with or without someone connected or using it. It has happened since its first establishment.

I don't know if the HP warranty covers the OS loaded at the factory. I don't want to restore the thing and start over. I'm not a Pro, just the guy in the office who did these things, but it seems that the network card may be faulty. I don't know if I can convince a person of first level support phone to have me bring the machine in an approved place.

    Any help greatly appreciated,

    Larry

HP sends a FedEx box to put the thing in picked it up. I'll mark this resolved thing. Thank you all for your comments!

  • Pavilion dv6: cannot get Windows 10 to work for more than a few days before video fails

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 with two graphics cards (Mobile Intel (r) Graphics and Raedon (TM) HD 6490 M). I installed the new Windows 10 twice and had a lot of success for about three or four days, then the display did not work. I was able both to restore Windows 7 but I want to take advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10. Does anyone know of an incompatibility with my HP Pavilion dv6 and 10 Windows?

It could be windows update tries to give you updates of adapter bad display every time. You have updated automatically whenever you install windows 10? If so, update the manual and ignore all updates that show the AMD, ATI and INTEL. I had the same problem but not with windows 10, I had it on windows 7 and 8.1 with the same computer, I didn't go to http://support.amd.com/en-us/download . Then select the automatically detect and install download and run it. If the screen turns off right after finished installing your drivers, then it must be the war video card causing problems.

Maybe it's your video drivers are fighting eachother for domination, when the screen messes up, try to hook up an external monitor, if your computer has an additional port. Let us know.
