HP Probook 4720 s, replacing BT/WLAN Motorola HS 3.0 combo

Hello

I Probook s 4720 HP p/n: WT087EA

I have the problem with the operating system Windows 8 and RaLink/Motorola WLAN Bluetooth 3.0 HS combined device.

Peripheral Bluetooth does not work on Windows 8, there is no working driver and HP was Cram so do not provide drivers for it.

I am thinking to replace unit HS 3.0 by some compatible which will help to win 8. Research on quickspecs for my laptop I can't find compatible combination unit. Looks like that one handset is for 4720 s.

Can someone tell me that it is supported. It would be perfect if someone could also provide HP p/n for this device.

    Hello.

The hard drive in my ProBook s 4720 died recently and I would like to replace it with an SSD. Some computers are known to have a "white list" incorporated in their bios of the materials they will accept. Before I have to buy the new drive, I would like to know if it will work with my computer.

the model I have in mind is:

    Samsung 840 TLC base 120 GB (MZ-7TD120BW)

    Than you for your answers.

It should not be a reason any, that it wouldn't work. I have install third party SATA SSD in HP laptops all the time without any problems.

One caveat with the 4720 s given it is a XP - era system - if you haven't done so already, upgrade to Windows 7. Earlier versions of Windows do not support for SSD TRIM functions, which can lead to the degradation of performance and service life deteriorated as well as potential data security issues when you use SSDS.

  • HP probook 4720 graph blue screen of death

    I have a HP probook 4720 s (product #: WT238EA #ACQ). I upgraded my 6 GB RAM.

My problem. The other day, I was busy playing a game when the computer froze, then off while she turned on a small blue screen appeared briefly. I restarted the laptop and everything seemed fine, I left the computer for a few minutes and when I came back the screen was turned off completely but the computer was working normally. No key or anything would be to put the screen back on.

After this event I tried to put the laptop on it would start everytime (HHD spin, CPU fan, HARD drive light flashing for a little and then stop, but the screen remains completely black with no blue backlight). I tried the hard reset and a number of other things like checking if the RAM has been correctly connected, the screen stays off.

I decided to connect the laptop to an external monitor and I could finally display on the monitor, but still, it would display on the screen of the laptop. After loading the windows emblem the dreaded blue screen of death appears with a STOP error message 0 x 00000116 who, after some research, seems to be the graphics driver. After the start of the security system and roll back the standard graphics driver VGA adapter of the windows system 7 was then able to boot into normal mode. I tried to reinstall the HD 5470 graphics driver but the blue screen of death continues to be displayed. I completely rebooted the OS without result.

I unplugged the screen of laptop computers to the motherboard without the graphics driver loaded, which did not cause a beep but on the monitor external when I plugged it. I tried the same thing with the loaded graphics driver, still no beeps were heard and when I plugged the external monitor blue screen appeared.

Tests I had tried, I think there must be a problem with the graphics card itself as the blue screen of death poster only when the graphics card driver is loaded.

Could you please say how you feel, I do, a help on this would be much appreciated. I have appolagize for the long message.

    Kind regards

    Byron

Problem solved. The MOSFET chip had stopped working, a fast replacement and the screen and everything worked perfectly!

  • Can I replace the WLan on my P750 Pro Satellite card

I bought my P750 to work on our 5 GHz Wireless (802. 11A / n) single frequency network.

Although I learned it would work it does not work. It seems that my hardware does not work on the Strip "a".

My question is maybe replaced card or he is buried in the Pack. If it is built of extermal wireless card can be purchased to do the job?

Just in case you asked that I read the forums, the updated drivers and activated the "n" on the AdHoc profile advanced for my Atheros AR9002WB-1NG

    Hello

The wireless network card is connected to the port on the motherboard miniPCI card and it of possible to remove/put the map.

But there could still be a problems of compatibility between the new device (Wlan-chip) and the BIOS.
I read here in the forum that someone replaced the Wlan card and finally the laptop didn't start because of compatibility issues between the Wlan and the BIOS.

So in your case I recommend to use an external Wlan solution.
The WLAN key is easy to use and should be compatible with most systems.

  • Satellite A505-S69803 - how to replace the Wlan card?

Before we get into the details of my problem.
I pulled out a DSL product, set up hundreds of wireless routers. I was a service technician laptop for 3 years for laptops as well.

I picked up a Toshiba, the price is right and so far cause I learn that you get what you pay for.

This machine has a realtek wireless card.
As everyone knows... Realtek is cheaply made of defective material.

Toshiba refuses to replace this card.
I need to buy a new card for this laptop.
    I need to know if it's a mini-pci, half height mini-pci, pci-e, or mini-pci-e card.
I plan to get a processor intel for her.

I also need that white papers for I can remove the wrist cushion / bezel on this camera. They have guides to the user, but unlike other manufacturers of portable, do not have their service manuals available.

Any help to get to this laptop fixed would be appreciated. He is soon out of town with my parents.

    Hi vlad2,.
Realtek is also known to run perfekt Linux - this indicates that the material is not so bad as you think...

Toshiba sells such unity as specified - if you want to have some other hardware choose another model of laptop computer or replace the wlan by yourself...
in case of doubt, that the card is in it, open the door under which lies the card - for a tech notebook pro like you no big deal - and check it out.
replace this part should be easy...

to respond to your complaint: + "Toshiba will not replace this card." +
course than that! If this works, there is no need to replace and you will always get the same thing as the spare part because this model comes with sound...

I don't like to repeat myself, but a mobile technician should be able to take the machine apart (you will ruin your warranty with this action)
Disassemble the caches is a thing of partner service - not for customers...

by the way: "I learn that you get what you pay for" + means what you see is what you get, to spend more money is not bad at all...
You can't get a mercedes for the price of a small car...

and what is your technical problem with the WiFi network?

  • How to replace the WLan card in Equium A200

My laptop Toshiba Satellite A200 has a Realtek wireless card which apparently is not compatible with Ubuntu.
I bought an Intel 3945ABG card.
From what I understand the card is located under the keyboard on this model.

Does anyone know if the fixing strip can be suspended on or does keep the screws (requiring the withdrawal from the base of the laptop).
I don't want to cause damage by doing the wrong thing.

    Thank you very much.

Hmm it of known to me that the keyboard is fixed with 2 or 3 screws. The screws are hidden under the cover of thin plastic.
This plastic cover holding the screws of the keyboard is connected only so you could remove it using a thin object and could extract.

But note buddy you should always be careful and you shouldn't t use a force!

I also have a second opinion; This replacement of WLan Confiez always a technician of the ASP. Why? Because a withdrawal of the keyboard can affect the validity of the warranty!

  • Satellite A100-847 - replacing a WLan card

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite A100-847. I would change as WIFI card for new with "n" standard.
I found some tutorials how to proceed, but it was for Toshiba A105, very similar to my only.

I opened the bottom cover where is memory and modem, but I couldn't see all the PCI ports.
    Is it possible to do?
Does work through mini-PCI or is integrated on the motherboard?

    Hello

The A100 PSAA9E supports a minPCI WLan card that supports the IEEE 802 standard. 11a / g WLan standards.
I m not 100% sure if it would be possible to upgrade the WiFi network with a WLan card 802.11 minPCI n because the two antenna cables.
You should first clarify if the antenna is compatible with the 802.11 standard new * WLan N standard *.

The minPCI wireless network card must be hidden under the keyboard. So you'd have to remove the keyboard first to get access to the wireless network card.
The wireless network card is also connected to two antenna cables. The cables must be removed carefully using a pair of tweezers. Then spread plugs securing the wireless LAN card until the card appears.

Usually it of not difficult to replace this WLan card but if you have no experience I wouldn t recommend doing this.
This replacement must be done by a qualified technician!
In addition you guarantee the validity could be cancelled after these updates.

  • Satellite C855 - 2 EV: how to remove the keyboard to replace the WLan

    Recently, I bought a Toshiba Satellite C855 - 2 EV.
As the performance of the wireless network card is a little disappointing, I bought a replacement NIC.

However when I tried to change the map, I was unable to open the laptop.
There are a few screws under the keyboard that must be unscrewed before being opened.

Unfortunately I could not remove the keyboard.
Does anyone know how the keyboard can be removed?

    Thank you!

I hope you know that replacement of a card WLAN or upgrade is not supported for doing something like that will void you the warranty. Another thing is the compatibility. Toshiba doesn't offer information on compatible WLAN cards so I m asking you already bought the new wireless network card.

Are you sure that it will properly work 100%?
Please think twice before you do anything. In my opinion, it is not good idea to cancel the warranty for the new laptop.

  • Satellite L755D-10U: cursor blinking after replacement of Wlan

    I have a L755D-10U with the built-in - wireless Mini PCI - E (1/2 height) a Realtek 8188CE card.
This card is about the worst piece of technology that I met.

It works when it wants to, but as soon as I started working hard, he decided to abandon the connection and fail completely to the I disable and enable - by software or by + key combination.

I finally had enough and decided to replace the card with an Intel Centrion Advanced - N 6200.
I put in the laptop, turn on and...
... BIOS screen, then just a cursor flashing at the top on the left and a 100% locked the system.
It's nothing to do with Windows as the same thing happens if I remove the hard drive.

No idea why this should be?
I can see no sign of updates to the BIOS for this laptop, but can't believe that Toshiba would limit the material which can be used as a replacement for their machines.

    > ... BIOS screen, then just a cursor flashing at the top on the left and a 100% locked the system.
    > Has nothing to do with Windows as the same thing happens if I remove the hard drive.

What happens if you remove the new card Wlan?

You can switch the BIOS screen and is Notepad starts the windows correctly?

If the laptop would be able to start without Wlan card inserted, then it means that the new Wlan card is not compatible. This could cause your problem

In this case, you would need to remove the WLan card and need to use another compatible Wlan card.

By the way: this is an interesting document from Toshiba which offer a solution to the question: + Wireless Lan (Wi - Fi) drops or disconnects completely. +

  • HP Pavilion m7-1015dx, replacing a wlan card

I want to replace my wireless network adapter (Ralink RT5390R) for one who supports the 2.4 and 5 Ghz frequency networks, with up to 450 Mbps of bandwidth. What (brand, model) offer which is compatible with my laptop?

    Hello:

Upgrade of a card in a HP laptop wireless, it's nothing less than a nightmare.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop (dv7 = m7).

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03221579.PDF

As you can see in the list of adapters wireless supported (Chapter 3, page 27), that your laptop is not yet listed as supported.

The only supported wireless card that meets your demand is the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 WLAN with HP Part # 670691-001.  But the part number is wrong. This is the part number for the card Ralink have you when you check the HP part store.

You can buy only a wireless card listed in the service manual and it must have the part number HP on it or it won't work.

So, I have to say that there is no wireless card compatible with your laptop that meets your upgrade request.
