Satellite L755D-10U: cursor blinking after replacement of Wlan

I have a L755D-10U with the built-in - wireless Mini PCI - E (1/2 height) a Realtek 8188CE card.
This card is about the worst piece of technology that I met.

It works when it wants to, but as soon as I started working hard, he decided to abandon the connection and fail completely to the I disable and enable - by software or by + key combination.

I finally had enough and decided to replace the card with an Intel Centrion Advanced - N 6200.
I put in the laptop, turn on and...
... BIOS screen, then just a cursor flashing at the top on the left and a 100% locked the system.
It's nothing to do with Windows as the same thing happens if I remove the hard drive.

No idea why this should be?
I can see no sign of updates to the BIOS for this laptop, but can't believe that Toshiba would limit the material which can be used as a replacement for their machines.

> ... BIOS screen, then just a cursor flashing at the top on the left and a 100% locked the system.

What happens if you remove the new card Wlan?

You can switch the BIOS screen and is Notepad starts the windows correctly?

If the laptop would be able to start without Wlan card inserted, then it means that the new Wlan card is not compatible. This could cause your problem

In this case, you would need to remove the WLan card and need to use another compatible Wlan card.

By the way: this is an interesting document from Toshiba which offer a solution to the question: + Wireless Lan (Wi - Fi) drops or disconnects completely. +

  • Satellite L755D-10U - I want to restore to out of box state

Afternoon, I have a Satellite L755D-10U and want to restore the factory settings.
I tried to create a recovery disk using the recovery disk creator but I got two errors.

One is in "all programs, toshiba, then recovery disc creator" and shows an error of missing shortcut of TRMCLcher.exe.

The other by the bias of my taskbar and said "No HDD Recovery Area". The recovery partition is still in my D: to 12.5 GB in size.

I have not yet tried the power down and zero route again as I would like to know if restoring to factory settings will erase all data on my Partition D. I got all my University stuff on atm here and even if I can save to another drive also I want to know if it will erase the data on the disks.

Cheers in advance for any help

    > One is in "all programs, toshiba, then recovery disc creator" and evokes a mistake of shortcut missing TRMCLcher.exe.

TRMCLcher.exe means that Toshiba Recovery Media Creator Launcher and this exe file should begin the process of recovery, but it doesn t.

Why? Who probably knows the system has been confusing upward or something has changed on the HARD disk partition.

The same pattern may be why no. HDD recovery area message.

Always is it that there are two options to recover the notebook:
    (1) recovery disc (not possible because you n t have a)
    (2) HARD drive recovery option (check if this is possible: turn on the device, press F8-> fix my computer-> HDD recovery)

If the two possible isn t, you need to recovery disk to perform the recovery procedure.

  • Satellite L755D-10U: Wireless Communication switch and fixed to off

    Satellite L755D-10U part number: PSK4YE-00J00HEN

I've had this laptop since June and have been very happy with it
Last night no reason apparent, the wirelsss set itself off and I cannot turn on again.

Have you looked in the settings of the flash memory card - everything is ok

Any help would be appreciated I need to be able to use the wireless function.

    Hello

The WiFi network can be switched on and off using the FN + F8 function.
Did you check that? Note that Fn + F8 turns and BT too so don't forget that Wlan was chosen and not BT!

But the Fn + F8 functions if the WiFi card driver is correctly installed.
If there is something wrong with Wlan driver, then the Fn + f8 would not work too.

This is why an update of the driver might be useful too.

  • Satellite 1410 714 extremely slow after replacing HARD drive

    Hello

I have a Satellite 1410-714 which has had a hard drive failure. I replaced the drive, but now the computer is extremely slow. Windows has been reinstalled, it was really slow too much and now it takes minutes for windows to start.

I suspect that something might have broken on the motherboard and the hard disk. I checked mobo replacement parts, but have not found anything for-714, so a 1410 mobo compatible? This model has a processor celeron 1.8.

    Thanks for help.

    Hannu

    Hello

I can t think the motherboard is broken after replacing HARD drive.
I suggest updating the BIOS first. Maybe your old BIOS have a few problems with the most recent HARD drive.
Please check site driver Toshiba for the latest version of BIOS.

Have you used any anties Virus applications?

  • satellite 2520cdt is very slow after replacing HARD drive

My Satellite 2520 CDT is the HARD Mk 4309 MAST 4.3 GB default disk. I replaced the with the Toshiba MK 2016 GAP of 20 GB.
I use Windows 98 since the original installation CD. The laptop is now very slow, it takes minutes to start programs, etc.

I installed the latest BIOS with no improvement. Probably the laptop cannot manage the size of the HARD drive.

    Is there a solution?

    Hello

I had the same suggestion. I think that the large size of the HARD disk is responsible to slowly start performance. But I wonder why BIOS recognize the HARD drive?
However, try to defragment the HARD drive.

  • Satellite C650, media recovery fails after replacing HARD drive

I have a 3 years C650, and the HARD drive has failed. I got a replacement drive and sorts to recover from the recovery media disks that I created and although he claimed to have re - partition the drive and reinstalled windows, windows startup fails when tried to configure the devices "could not configure windows to run on this hardware.

After this error, the boot sequence goes into an endless loop, asking to start the installation procedure.

Thinking that my records may have been corrupted, I ordered a set of Toshiba recovery disks. Once again, these go through the recovery process and still once, Windows startup does not exactly in the same place.

A little annoying to have spent £30 for nothing.

I have a picture of Windows system on my external HARD drive, but I can't get the machine to a point where it will actually start so I can recover from that.

Any suggestions on how to proceed is welcome!

    Thank you
    Martin

    Hello

Of course, this isn't a problem of recovery disk.
I guess there is a problem with the HARD drive but I n t think that the HARD drive has failed I think there is a problem of setting

First, you should go to BIOS and check if the SATA set to AHCI.
Then you should also format the HARD drive again.

I recommend to use the freeware tool called GParted. You could create a live USB stick bootable flash memory which will allow you to start the unit and start GParted tool.
Format the HARD drive, and then create a partition.

After that, take the recovery disk and start the recovery procedure.
    Good luck

  • Satellite L850-P13 - no backlight after replacement Panel

Hi, I cracked Panel. Sister felt on nightmarish and sit on the screen while the computer on couch fully open the cover and the machine didn't work. A leak under the layer of glass crystal. His soul left to heaven. Sister is OK.

Brief inspection found that the NB is still alive (not a form), connected to the Panel external vga everything worked OK.
New Panel has been ordered. After reinstalling don't got no backlite. The screen is dark, but it is posible to see content at the if backlit screen with torch or a lamp. It works, just right on the 'dark side '.

First of all, I can't POST when the external display is connected. It shows the picture when windows starts already.
That's why I dare not upgrade the BIOS which is requested by the control center of Toshiba or else called this thing running on the system. He also asked for updated video driver as well what I did, but no difference.
On the list of hardware-, on the screen, I see two devices. Both are recognized as generic display. Others need an external display.
Is this normal? I mean, at least panell LCd must be recognized as something else then "generic"?

Before replacement Panel has been ordered, that happens to have another L750 broken (it has been washed with water in IT). Repair service send it back as a "total damaged."

I tried to put the sign of it in the hope that works and he did.
Signs was perfect matched (make and model). And it worked. Brightness was not the best, and there was a distortion in the image of the screen and flashes.

So it was not helpful for the repair. I have spend PCs and the couple of times.
Whenever the brightness drops down. Finally, I gave up trying and order/waiting for the new Panel.

When a new arrived, got no backlight at all as mentioned above.

I would like to know how to get an external display to show the POST early on how I would be able to enter BIOS or BIOS update utillity?

Any idea what causes lack backlight having in mind describes the behavior of the backlight during test with notebook Panel "processed water"?

    > To the list of hardware-, on the screen, I see two devices. Both are recognized as generic display. > Other should be external display. Is this normal? I mean, did at least LCD display should be recognized as something else then "generic"?

Yes it's OK, the darker scree are certainly not a driver problem.

AFAIK the L850 series was equipped with various billboards.
Some were equipped with a sign supporting the side light CCFL (a fluorescent cold cathode) and some were equipped with the fire side of LED (LED backlight)

Do you have a good showcase?

The display unit has a LCD and FL inverter or backlight LED module.

Of course, you can install / recover the computer laptop back to factory settings.
To do this, you will need the drive recovery Toshiba for this device.
This disc can be ordered here:

But the Satellite T110 does not seem to be equipped with an internal optical drive.
So, you will need to connect an external USB ODD in order to be able to recover this unit.

You will buy this external USB CD/DVD drive or you would borrow such a device someone

  • Average recovery creating Impossible on my Satellite L755D

    Hello

Try to create recovery disks for my Satellite L755D-10U through toshiba bulletin board, but whenever I click on the icon to create a recovery media, I get an alert that says:

the creation of means of recovery is impossible!

Not found the HDD Recovery folder on the second disc of the first hard drive. There is no valid Envirenment recovery of HARD drive on this computer.

My best friend has exactly the same laptop that I bought at the same time (sad, I know) but its made fine records. I don't do anything else, can anyone help me, does anyone know why mine does this?

    Thanks in advance

Still is it that creation of recovery utility Toshiba doesn't have access to the recovery image stored on the HARD disk.
Unfortunately, nobody here can tell why.

I put t know what did you do with your laptop, but I presume that you have changed the structure of the partitions or perhaps somehow remove HARD drive recovery image.

If your friend has absolutely the same notebook (the same part number (PSK4YE) that it can create this disc of recovery for you and you can use it on your laptop. If this isn't the case, you have a problem.
