HP ProBook 6550 b / WL560AV: hppa_service.exe with 24% of the CPU

I had some problems with my laptop and the process of troubleshooting, I downloaded and installed the HP Support Assistant.  Since the reboot after installation, the resource (resmon.exe) monitor showed HPPA_Service.exe at the top of the list for the use of the CPU, stable running, between 24% and 25%.

I don't remember whether I gave him permission to install/run Power Assistant.  I don't think it worked before; If she she has never appeared as a problem anywhere so I was not aware!

I don't want HPPA_Service.exe to 25% of my cycles use cpu full time.  What is the best way to make it stop?

You can uninstall programs and features. If you want to reinstall you can find on your support page.

Click on the link below, click on the "drivers and software", and then type your model number in the search box and then press ENTER, when loading the page select your operating system. Pilot your page will appear.

  • Spoolsv.exe has 99% of the cpu when I turned off the printer after printing.

    Original title: spoolsv.

I recently installed a new printer Lexmark Pro715.  Everything works fine, no problems with printing, but as soon as I put off the printer after printing, spoolsv.exe takes 99% CPU.  If I leave the printer in mode 'sleep', the problem is, but I do not often print, I prefer to turn off completely.  There is nothing in the print queue, everything else seems normal.  I can use the Task Manager to stop it, but this isn't a good solution in the long term.  I run MS Update and uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, with no effect.  It's driving me crazy.  I have Windows XP Home Edition SP3.

From what I've read on the Internet about the print spooler using 99 to 100%, Norton is also sometimes involved as a contributing factor to a runaway print spooler for some people (where my request).

IIRC, people would set their Norton to start a scan and when it was made, the print spooler has run amok at 100%:

"Because I have Norton Antivirus, do a system scan every Friday night that I happened to see that the value SPOOLSV. EXE is using almost 100% of the CPU of the morning Saturday. It's the only time that it happens, so I simply stop the process in the SERVICES window, and life is good. I don't know why Norton Antivirus it triggers during the scanning process that I couldn't find anything on the Symantec relating to this site. »

If the problem resurfaces surface, using abduction special tools on their website, you can uninstall your Norton and view the appearance of things without him - you can always reinstall again once, right?

I disagree with Norton in general for its CPU and memory hogging and known interference with other XP processes (such as the restoration of the system), so I'd keep which in mind if the problem returns.

A few years ago, I used to like Norton correct, but will never go back or recommend it.  Microsoft Security Essentials with it's lower overhead and footprint and some regular on the analyses at the request of the MBAM and SAS should hold your own system based on your surfing habits.  Your system will reward you with an improvement in the overall performance of the system as well.

I can tell you that no single AV tool seems to know everyting so it is safe to use several respectable scanning tools.  Norton certainly doesn't know everything.

  • I can't find the fix_svchost.bat file update. The svchost.exe process is spiking the CPU at 100% after the computer crashes.

Original title: I can't find the fix_svchost.bat file update.

I'm in you process of having my computer running faster. The svchost.exe process takes 100% of cpu memory and computer dthe freezes. A friend of mine told me a method to solve the problem, but I can't find the fix_svchost.bat update. I went to microsoft update center and don't find any results at all, and I don't know another place to look for. I think that the update does not even exist.

I could send you a fix_svchost.bat file, but I don't think it's the starting point.

What you need to do is run a few respectable scans for malware first, and then see if any of you are your svchost.exe process is still badly behave.

Behind each of the svchost.exe process that see you in the Manager of tasks can be one or more process of XP you have to be running, but malware is KNOWN to imitate or hide behind a svchost.exe process, so you won't be able to see in Manager tasks.  You have to outsmart it.

First yo should make a reasonable effort to eliminate malware, and then start troubleshooting - not the other way around.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

No matter what you use for malware protection, follow these steps:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs at:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

These comprehensive analyses can take some time, but you really need to run.  SAS will probably be just a bunch of Internet tracking cookies, but you can remove them.  Once you have done at least a full analysis, you can do quick scans in the future to save time and save the analyses complete for when you have more time or are really suspicious of an infection of the system.

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

In 1985, there were 11 known computer viruses.  Today, there are over 70,000 and new threats are detected every day.  Always update your virus definitions before running a scan.

  • RoboHelp crashes, with 100% of the CPU whenever I close a topic.

    RoboHelp 8.0.2.208

    Windows XP Pro

I have recently installed RH8 and made two updates available, making it up to 8.0.2.208.

RH8 is installed locally, on my computer, and I'm the only user.

I have worked all day in HR and have had no major problems, except a little slow when using the network (HR is installed locally, but the project has been saved to a networked machine).

Over the past two days, I've noticed that whenever I close a topic, HR hangs for about 10-15 seconds, during which I can't activate or select anything in the user interface. This happens regardless of whether I made any changes to the subject, and how many subjects I have open at once.

When a topic is open, I can change it without any problem. I can also click on what in the user interface, use one of the menus etc - the problem of hanging occurs only when I close a topic.

When you work in an open topic, my CPU usage is low; 4-7%, according to what I do. However, in the case of the "hanging", CPU peaks at 100% again for 10-15 seconds, after which the CPU back down to "normal" operations and I can continue to work.

I tried to create a new project on my local machine, in which case the delay had something to do with HR writing in the remote location, but the problem persists, despite everything.

    Thank you

Find someone else to connect to your machine and try one of the samples.

If this fails, can try you on a machine on the network no, maybe your own PC?

  • in System 32 Spoolsv.exe taking 90% of the CPU usage.

Original title: spoolsv.exe in System 32

in my task manager processes, spoolsv.exe exists that uses more than 90 percent of one of my cores of the processor. It is in System 32. I want to know what is it and why it uses 45% of my CPU?
How can I stop it permanently?

    Hello

    Method 1.
This happens usually when the printer spooler folder is filled with unwanted files. You can resolve this problem by following the steps below:
    a. go to start, settings, then click Control Panel
    (b) in the Control Panel window, double-click first administrative tools, then Services.
    (c) in the right pane of the Services window, locate and with right-click on print spooler and then select stop.
    d. you have stopped this process, leave the window open. Now open my computer and navigate to the following folder.
    c:\windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS
    e. delete all files in the Printers folder. After you delete the files in this folder, return to the Services window, right-click on print spooler and select start reactivate service.

    Method 2.
Although the true spoolsv.exe file is a secure, many malicious programs are known to dress up in spoolsv.exe. Sometimes the security program installed might not be fair enough. I also recommend you update your security software regularly.

    a. follow the link below to start the free online scan:
    http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm
    b. run the malware removal tool from Microsoft.

  • problem to get internet with SIM card on the probook 6550 b win7 pro 64-bit

    Hello.

I'm trying to connect to the internet with a SIM card on my Probook 6550 b with win 7 Pro - 64 bit

I tried an external USB (called Globesurfer icon) device that works on computers running XP, but I can't make it work on mine.

I tried to put the SIM card directly into the location corresponding to the battery. Nothing happens when I start the computer, and there is only two options in the wizard wireless (WLAN and Bluetooth)

I tried to download and install a file (called sp53068) on the HP support site which was supposed to install the drivers for internet cell phone. It is a DOS window, and he said a sentence. Then it just closes.
I also tried to install all the application files that extracts of the sp53068 in c:\swsetup\SP53068, but they have the habit of work.

Please help me with this problem. Right now this is my only option to connect to the internet from my laptop.

In advance, thank you for any help.

Hello. I just wanted to say that the "mystery" is solved. Simply the USB device doesn't work because it only supports cooperative systems up to Win7 32 bit and no further details. I have 64-bit, so it's a 'no-go '. Thanks for you time.

    I downloaded the windows updates

I downloaded the full feature software and driver for this model and tried to install from it.

With the full functionality & pilots came "Error of Installation HP - Windows 7.hta" and I followed him with attention for the installation of USB, including disabling my Avast antivirus for one hour on each attempt, disabling a normal startup in msconfig

After all this sw "HP Solutions Center 's" told me that the installation did not finish, so I uninstalled and retried twice, once the uninstall with the uninstall feature in the exe ' full functionality so & Driver "and once with the program control panel uninstall Uninstall System.  Same result after these attempts "not completely installed.

Can't believe a HP product on a HP product installation can be this darn difficult.

Do you have any help?     NB.

First of all, thank you again for further upward.   I really appreciate your time and efforts.  I successfully completed earlier and tested the installation.  Here is what happened.

I'm supposed to go again very carefully through your instructions and began uninstalling.  But as I went through this process, I came across problems of functionality - I mean, I could not get either the Windows uninstall or download of sw/driver uninstall function - nothing would happen.

Then I found (surprisingly) I own the original supplied with the notebook disks (I got this for my son as he was headed for duty in Afghanistan in early 2011).  I therefore decided to back up and reinstall Windows & apps.  But the DVD player would not read discs or discs, although Bishop device says it works correctly.  My son used a lot of music and movies and had trouble with it in Af.  So the original disks were not do me no good.  I tried to create a repair on my GoFlex drive disc, but it does not work I think because the file system is not NTSC (initials right?), but is the Master Boot Record (sounds like the FAT).

I discovered THE system BIOS before startup offered a recovery option - I used that and today tried to install it on the system and voila!

I really didn't want to go this route to recovery because I wanted to overcome obstacles and make it work as it should.  Stubborn.  But retirement is only 7-8 years of absence and I had not a lot of time - ha!

Now, I need to get a replacement DVD + RW and this laptop should be back to the original form, and the battery takes no charge so I guess it expired.  Since he does not need it, I have a pc to use so my wife can play Solitaire on the Pavilion.

Awesome support both by you and others in the forum.  I am very grateful that you are here and it helped me to overcome the problems.  I learned a little, installs windows and this laptop.  At first I had no idea if I did something wrong, had the wrong approach, or what.

Thanks again - I cannot exactly call your work a solution, but I was at the point where the complete reinstallation was the thing to do.

In most cases, it is best to restart the computer after installing drivers / software (even if it is not "necessary" to do so).

XP is no longer supported, I suggest that you download the drivers of your computer and keep saved somewhere safe.  Do the same with your User Guides and anything else of interest that you will find in the support pages for the Web site of your computer.
