• Bright spot on the screen HP Slate 7 2800

  I have a HP Slate 7 2800. I've had for almost 6 months now. I just noticed a bright spot in the left corner of my screen. I don't know what it is. Can it be fixed? I can't go back, because I moved to the South Korea after that I bought the tablet.

  For the last few days my HP Slate 2800 7 has not charged.

  A week ago, I noticed that the connection between the Tablet and the cable was loose and detach easily. But even if it is loose, it would charge.

  Now, it does not load at all. I tried several different micro usb cables connected to the wall adapter or a computer or laptop without success. I checked the micro usb for lint or dust port, but it is perfectly clean. I tried several micro usb cables, and none has made a difference. I've never dropped my tablet, nor is he come in contact with water or liquid. I used to charge my tablet on a daily basis and took good care of her.

  I would like to know if HP can fix it or if I can do it myself. My tablet is only two months old.

  A new tablet should arrive tomorrow.

• Slate 7-2800 - Settinsg stopped responding when connecting to Wifi

  I have a 7-2800 slate that I just got yesterday.  WiFi connectivity works fine at home.  However, I'm at work, try to connect to our wifi and it works at all.

  When I try ti connect to our main network, I get error that "Unfortunately, the settings has stopped" as soon as I enter my password and click on connect.

  Fixing a few screenshots.  The network worked very well for my phone and no one else is having problems with other devices, but I don't think that someone else has a slate.

  It appears usually when you try to join a wireless network that uses EAP and MSCHAP encryption schemes.  Does your office use?

  One solution is to download a free software called "Wireless Manager" from the game store.  Please check the thread for instructions.

• Slate 7-2800... Update of the OS?

  Someone else has just received an update of the OS?

  Last night I went to bed, and the tablet was very good. This morning, when I woke up, the tablet was install an update. After the update and reboot required, all my apps and games have gone. had to reinstall everything is new.

  Anyone who has recently received an OS update?
  My tablet now shows Android Version 4.1.1 kernel in Version 3.0.8 +
  Unfortunately, I never thought to write anywhere that the version was before, so I'm not sure what was updated.

  Has anyone heard anything on this update? or a receipt in their own Tablet? just curious to know what the new update changes, or if someone knows where I can check for a story so I can see what has been updated.

  I heard of slate 7 engineers. They seem to have found the cause. There are a limited number of aircraft delivered with an earlier version of the operating system, those who have started with version 1.05.04 can see data reset if they update. Once again, the number of affected aircraft is very low. The update will be regenerated with difficulty fairly quickly. In the meantime if you are concerned about your data please make a backup before the update. Backup guide

  However, I noticed that under the tab 'Tools' and 'options' under 'sound options' in the microphone section I have seen that there was no available microphone, which is weird because I have a headset with a microphone attached to the headset pre.
  This setting worked for me since then until now, so I wonder what this problem might deviate from.

  Resident in the United States, I'm currently travelling in Germany.  My 7 Slate seized.  I was searching Google Earth of the surroundings and the system stopped working.  The screen went blank and I can't turn off or turn on.  Any help would be appreciated.

  To restart a frozen Slate7, press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds until the appearance of the HP logo.

  Now, release the button and the device should start normally.

  A month ago, my speakers stopped working. at first I thought it was material, but I noticed that the speaker in the taskbar icon was an 'X' on it, I was curious. He said: "no speakers or headphones are plugged."  It's particularly confusing because I had headphones plugged at the time of this message. My speakers won't play any sound at all, but when I have headphones, some programs will play sound such as: any Web site, World of Tanks, andpossibly of other programs. Include things that will not play sounds even with the headphones plugged: iTunes, Spotify, Windows Media Player, FL Studio or Virtual DJ.  An interesting case is League of legends. The sound of the interface will come through, but that's all.  (I triple checked my settings ingame sound)  You are not sure if it's a sound card problem, or perhaps a driver? any help would be appritiated.

  Try the following.

  Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

  When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

  Once the relocation of Chipset is complete, stop the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

  Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

  Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

  Slate 7 developed a 'green' background with a very low resolution on SCREEN.

  It's as if the video card or the driver has developed a problem.  When the "HP" logo

  Displays "pwr" on the State, the background color is 'dark green' rather than 'black '.

  Resolution suffers.  Pixels are reduced etc.

  Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
  the question.

  Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
  Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
  This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.
  
  Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
  slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

  Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
  ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
  contacts data with a pencil eraser.

  Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
  manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

  I just installed Adobe Flash on my Slate7 11.1 using the directions of this site.

  NOTE: HP does not officially support this option.  I tried it and it worked.  Use at your own risk.

  It would not download for me when I used Chrome, but the stock browser worked!  Go figure... Once installed, it would play the Flash videos in stock and FireFox browser, but the browser of the boat is not 'compatible' for download from the game store, so don't bother.

  Flash would not work with chrome at all.

• Why I can't download Sky on my HP 2800 7 slate?

  I tried to download the app Sky go through Google on my Tablet (HP Slate 7 2800). A message pops up saying that my device is not supported for this application. Why? !!

  The usual cause of this error is due to the fact that the author of the program wrote the code in the application that looks for the presence of a GPS chip in the device.  As the Slate7 of entry level has not, it gets deemed 'not supported '.

  There are workarounds for this problem.  Many users install the application to another device Android (maybe a phone), then extract the program believed in what they call a "APK" (.apk is the file name extension, in your case, it might be "SkyGo.apk").

  There are other threads discuss this problem in this section and guidance how 'load side' application.

  Here are the basic instructions, if you are interested:

  Extraction of the APK is not officially approved by HP. If an application is not available in a specific area which is a restriction that the developer has put on the application. Such a restriction could be due to the licensing of content.

  There are two main steps in order to extract the APK-

  (1) extract the application of another Android device, or download the APK file directly. If you download the APK file also, please be very confident of the Web site. Because you will be "forcing" the application to install and don't not download through Google, it is possible the application has been infected by malware or otherwise damaged.

  To perform step 1, first install the application on another Android device, and also to install an "APK Extractor" application. (there are several to choose from and available for free in the game of Google store).

  Once the application is extracted, copy the file to a MicroSD card, or use another means of transfer for example transfer or by e-mail.

  Insert the MicroSD card into your 7 Slate, or download the file.

  You may need to install a file browser to locate the file on your tab 7. These are also available in the store from game Google free.

  You must change a setting of security on your tab 7; Click settings, security and place a check in "unknown Sources allow installation of applications from unknown sources. You will get a warning about the potential of malicious software by changing this setting.

  Once the security setting has been changed, find the APK file and simply "click" on it to open it. It will install everything as it was downloading from the game store.

  I will state some things well-

  (1) this process is not approved by HP. I am a volunteer, offering my free time to help other users.

  (2) If a request is blocked in your area, then installation can cause problems or even violate certain laws or license.

  (3) download an APK on a suspicious Web site could introduce viruses/spyware/malware or other undesirable behaviors. Do not download APKs for files that are not free Google game like this would be piracy.

  (4) installation of an APK that "requires" GPS may not work fully, although in many cases, you can manually enter in your location and it will work.
