There is no restrictions on the pixel dimensions for movies you play using Windows Media Player.

  • Pixel dimensions and how it differs from the size of the file

Ihave this photographer who sends me a picture of a print document.

There he cropped to the correct size:

    Screen Shot 2015-05-29 at 11.27.15 AM.png

But, the image is grainy and I'm afraid it all there just resampled it. It is hung on the fact that it is of 74.6 M in this screenshot, but the file is a JPG of 10 MB. He repeats to me that image must be big enough, because he is 74.6 MB and I do not have "uncompressed" it properly.

So my question is, how I clearly explain how the Dimensions in pixels of 74.6 M is really different from a file that is 74.6 MB in size and is not really an indication of the image quality in this case? Or am I missing something, is there a way that I have to process this file so that it is high resolution enough for printing?

    Thanks for your help!

I really want to add to that. An easy way to see what jpeg compression is doing to an image is to enlarge your image and drag the slider down to 1 it does is "lumpy" colors together and in doing so, throwing the color information to get the size down.

You will see the "tuft" image as the file size goes down.

It does not change the number of pixels. If you open your file it will be 74 MB, and the pixel dimensions are the same quality 1 or 10 quality.

But the image will be "sick" to healthy and 1 to 10. You save space, but that's what you get.

Here's the "liquidation".  If you want to print, download a flat tiff file. In ancient times the modems and readers of 500 MB, jpeg may have made sense, but there are terabyte, DSL speeds and cloud like Dropbox storage disks. It's cheap send a uncompressed file ready to print.

  • How do you find the pixel dimensions of a photo in Illustrator CC?

We have recently improved our CC CS3 software. I can't determine the pixel dimensions of the picture I want to incorporate into Illustrator. In our old workflow, we have simply clicked on the object in Illustrator and then open a new document in Photoshop, and it would retain the dimensions to the size of our document in Illustrator. It is then a simple matter to paste the picture into the box, position and crop and save as a PSD file and then place in Illustrator. It does not more creative cloud. The object shrinks to 72 DPI, while keeping the resolution setting. We must keep our Illustrator files at least, so more files needed the incorporation is not possible.

I studied a bit and I see other people having similar problems, but I didn't know a workaround or a way to determine the size in pixels. Info by the document Illustrator gives the 72 dpi pixel settings, even if the document is configured to replicate at 200 dpi.

It's something that used to be so simple, I don't think a lot of upgrade. Now my workflow is horribly long. I have to rasterize all of the graph and then crop that is the inset photo. If there is an easier way, please tell me. All the literature is back, on the placement of an image already size of PS in Illustrator. I need the other side "round.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think I have a solution: make sure Clipboard settings are on 72 cut and paste a 72 dpi in PS file, because it seems that Illustrator images are seen in this way, regardless of the output resolution. Click on Photoshop and start a new document. It retains the proportions of the Illustrator image in 72 dpi. Open the size of the image, and then make sure that resample is checked. Change the resolution to the desired, in my case 200... Then place and crop your photo and save the PSD file. Open Illustrator and place the PSD file. It works for me.

  • Why the merge HDR Pro image pixel dimensions?

For example, the original files (camera raw) are 4368 x 2912.  When I merge to HDR, the result is 4366 x 2910, or sometimes 4364 x 2911.  It varies depending on the three images being merged.  This is a problem with programs that depend on the size of consistent and accurate picture (.. .as panorama stitching programs).

    Thank you.

Excellent guess!  I just confirmed - it is indeed the solution.  When I unchecked the snap option, I get a compatible pixel dimensions in the final images.

    Thank you!!

  • Report of pixel dimensions

    Hello world

I have a folder of images 800 or more. I need to know the dimensions in pixels of images and I don't open towards the top of each of them in Photoshop to take a look because it would be too tedious. I was wondering if Adobe Bridge was some sort of command that could produce a report on the dimensions in pixels of all images in the directory?

    Appreciate any advice.

I don't know about Macs, but with Windows, you can get this info through Explorer. Just right click on the bar that has categories such as file name to bring up a dialog box, where you can choose the Dimension.

  • Export JPG at 100% is to reduce the pixel dimensions?

I'm using the most up-to-date Lightroom (5.5) on a Mac under os 10.9.4.

In the not too distant past (I only used Lightroom since April), I was able to export my images processed in full size JPEG format.  It is the physical dimensions... not the amount of data.

Now I can't figure out why, but Lightroom started to decrease my JPEG files. My test image was 4665 x 4000 pixels and there is a month Lightroom exported the JPGs to exactly these dimensions.  Since then, something changed (probably an update!) and when I try now to export the same image of his reduction of the size of the release of 1985 x 1702!

My export settings are set to 100% quality jpeg, resize options are turned off. Limit the size of file is disabled.

I trashed the preferences of Lightroom and Photoshop.

    Is happening?

I need to export these files at full size but Lightroom seems to ignore its own settings!

    Help!

    Adam

No - it's not it.but thank you for the suggestion

I just figured out the problem.

It seems that Lightroom had lost the original photo and was working on a smart preview file. Once I had located the original it recorded properly.

I guess that serves me right for not reading the manual before jumping into this App!

  • Corresponding to InDesign and Photoshop Pixel Dimensions

I'm trying to use InDesign to determine the pixel size of a grid of baseline and typography that will eventually be used on a Web page. Because Photoshop is not a baseline grid, or an alignment feature grid base, I thought I might be able to get something working in InDesign.

Unfortunately, I'm running on a problem, where the dimensions of the pixels in InDesign do not seem to match with pixel sizes in Photoshop. For example, with documents for 100% in Photoshop and InDesign, a 100px square will appear larger on the screen in InDesign than in Photoshop. It's like InDesign renders the view to a different resolution than Photoshop.

Above you can see a place made to 42 pixels in InDesign seen at 100% zoom (although InDesign insists on the display of the size as points) with the same box screenshot and open in Photoshop. The place is actually measured 54 pixels.

How can I myself InDesign to display the same as Photoshop pixel formats?

In CS6 ID and PS Zoom scales are different. ID's 100% is the adjusted actual print size for monitor you res and not the PS 1:1 pixels monitor.

To get the report ID 1:1 double-click the Zoom tool

  • Photoshop pixel dimension changes when they are imported to illustrator

    Hello

I'm importing and editing text in a photoshop file in Illustrator.

    -300 pixels/inch

However when I save for the web, it tells me that the size of the original image is 1686px x 2384 px, but the size of the artboard is always the same as my photoshop.

    Screen Shot 2014-12-17 at 10.50.51 am.png

Should I be concerned about the drastic change in pixels?

    Thanks in advance!

    Sandi,

You can set just the width or the height of the original (7020 or 9930) value in the window the size of the Image, and everything will be fine, as long as you include you the entire image in the save for Web (you should be the artboard to the work, as appropriate).

Illy has a simple approach to pixels: basically, it leaves just their only, so any way that you change the size of your work, no resampling takes place, and she uses even pixels as a unit identical to the points.

When you want to work with pixels, it is more prudent to use dots pixels as the unit, to avoid nothingness thresholds / added unwanted caused by rounding/inherent inaccuracies.

  • How can I write a script to set the maximum pixel dimensions?

I need lots of JPGs and limit the maximum size of 500 px. This must apply to the largest side of the image, either in height or width. The other side should auto size proportionally. I currently have to make these changes to size manually. I have not found any scripting language or function which will allow me to set the size of larger pixel to 500 px, no matter what size is the most important.

    Example:

    1. If the image is 1000 w x 750 px: px, I want the script to resize the image proportionally to the largest side, change the width to 500 px

    2. If the image is 750 px x 1000 px h w, I want the script to change the height to 500 px and proportions are consistent for the width

    All ideas are welcome grately.

    Thank you

  • Manually enter the pixel dimensions

Be a confusion of units of measure here.

    Illy CS5

For the sake of a clean test: (and not how I normally work, but just to help eliminate any file defining quirks) I create a new doc, using the new Document profile: print.

Select the Rectangle tool, click the artboard, type in 300px width. Come in.

In inches, it measures as in 4,1667. Why?

I expect to be precisely 1 in.

Also, if I punch in 300pt it comes out to be 4,1667 and more.

    I got lost.

Illustrator is not a 'resolution' for vector objects based inside the file.

Pixel is therefore fundamentally. And Illustrator calulates them to 72 dpi.

There are dozens of threads on this topic in the forum.

  • PES 10 suddenly refuses the pixel dimensions

Hi, I never use anything other than sizes of pixels for resizing. Without any warning, today PSE refuses to allow me. I checked the preferences/units & leaders: leaders and type have the pixel value as they always have been. But now when I try to resize, it gives me the option only per cent, inches, cm, mm, points, picas, and columns; I'm not allowed to use more pixels.

What has been reached? And how can I work in pixels and this continues?

First of all, resampling is turned on?

If it is and you still do not see the pixels, try to delete the preferences: exit the editor and then restart it by pressing ctrl + alt + shift (command + option + shift on a mac). Keep the key down until you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

  • Dimensions in pixels in MB

The dimension field of pixel in the window the size of the Image, seems to be to use a generic number of MB that has no connection with the size of the image when I save it as a Photoshop of full resolution document.

Where does this number come from?

I'm developing a tutorial to help students understand the information in this window.  All common sense except that number of pixel dimension which is supposed to indicate the size of the file.

    Thanks for your help.

    Mary Lou

The confusion comes from two causes:

    1. 1 000 'computer stuff' are equal to 1 024 "normal things".
    2. Each pixel has 3 segments of data - a single segment for each channel (red, green and blue).

So, the formula for the number of "Pixel Dimensions" is (only using the upper part.  Ignore the "Document size" box). :

    (Width/1024) x (height/1024) x 3

    For your example:

    (1000/1024) x (1000/1024) x 3 =.

    0.9765625 x 0.9765625 x 3 =

    0.95367431641 x 3 =

    2.86102294922

    Added:

    The obvious question is "what happens if there are more color channels?"  You guessed it: multiply by the number of channels.  Here's the same image open in PSCS2, first as an RGB image, then after the passage of the CMYK Mode;
