  • Web JetAdmin 10.3.96073: HP Web JetAdmin is not compatible with Windows 10?

The HP WebJetAdmin client is compatible with Windows 10? I start HP Web JetAdmin 10.3.96073 (10.3 SR8) on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server.

Today, I tried for the first time load the HP Web JetAdmin console on my machine Windows 10 and to the "customer charge component: DAV supplies UI" step, I get the error "an unexpected error was encountered. The customer will be closed. »

This happened on 10.3 SR7, I improved, so there is still. People get this to load Windows 10?

The customer care perfectly fine on the server from localhost, but also one of my boxes of Windows 8. Just does not load on Win10.

  • Web JetAdmin download needed

First of all, I must say that this is strictly unacceptable that the HP website is so bad I built that it is impossible to contact support.  It is forbidden to discuss or e-mail unless you provide information that does not exist, as a free software serial number.

And I find it deplorable that you will need to submit information that HP already has to go through a process of e-mail and web 4 step to get the free software strictly so they can give you more email marketing and phone calls.  This isn't what I expect for the needs of the company.

The real question, where can I get the 32-bit version of the Web Jetadmin?  The whole process will offer me only 64 bit, despite indicating there is a 32-bit version, provided that he specifically asked me what OS I'm running.  What really put these downloads in a place that is easy to get without all these extra steps of headaches that don't give me what I need anyway in the end?  Get it together HP...

  • Web Jetadmin restricted the role of safety device group does not not as expected

    Hi all

I just configured HP Web Jetadmin 10.3 SR8 and trying to implement a restricted security group peripheral role but is not working as I hope.

I created a group of devices for a specific department within our Organization. It is filled with a query and I confirmed that the correct set of devices makes its appearance in the group.

I created a security role called "administrators of small device." I set the type of restriction to "Volume groups" and ticked the box "all permissions".

I added a user by selecting 'device restricts administrators' with my new role selected. I checked the box "Restrict permissions to the group" and selected the group created earlier.

When I log in Association with this user account, I expect to see only the devices in the device group. However, I am able to see all detected devices.

Am I misunderstood how this is supposed to work? How do I give a user access to HOSTS and make them only to be able to see the devices in their Ministry?

Currently, Web Jetadmin (WJA) no not the feature to limit devices which can be consulted but not restricted this that a user has the ability to management.  Any user can see all the features, but cannot manage that those who were assigned to their role.  If they attempt to perform an action on a device outside their role, they will get a message saying that they do not have permissions to perform this action.

One thing to keep in mind is that any account that is a member of the local Windows Administrators group of the server HOSTS is automatically a member of the Administrators group on the application HOSTS.  This means that if a domain user account is a member of the local Windows of the WJA Server Administrators group, the permissions for the Administrators group of the ASSOCIATION will take precedence over any other restrictions that may have been placed on this user through other roles.  It goes the same for any user who is a member of a domain group that is a member of the Windows Administrators group local servers HOSTS.

    I hoope this helps.

  • HP Jetdirect 300 x: updated HP Jetdirect 300 x (J3263A) without Web Jetadmin or HP Download Manager

If you have a HP Jetdirect 300 x (J3263A exactly) with an older version of firmware, such that H.08.20, you may have noticed it is almost impossible to update. The HP Download Manager is supposed to be used to update the product to the latest revision of the firmware, but it does not work and gives an error. Similarly, the HP Webjetadmin software does the same. The two pieces of software uses the SNMP protocol. Newer versions of the firmware are supposed to be updated via FTP or HTTP, but if you're stuck with an older version such as H.08.20, you're out of luck on these methods. So how is one with an older firmware supposed to upgrade to the latest revision?

After days of experimentation and dig through the documentation and forums, I found a solution! TFTP. This process is not documented anywhere to my knowledge (and believe me I looked!) so please read carefully.

The first step is to set up a TFTP server. You can try setting up on Windows or Mac OS X. For the record, however, I tried to use the built-in Mac OS x and had no luck TFTP server. Your best bet is to use a Linux virtual machine or a live cd. I used Debian and tftp-hpa. I have no luck with tftpd.

    1. Machine Debian Boot
    2. Make sure you have an IP address that is accessible to the Jetdirect. To configure the IP address, follow the instructions here: https://wiki.debian.org/NetworkConfiguration#Setting_up_an_Ethernet_Interface. If you are already connected to a DHCP server, you should not do anything.
    3. Install tftp-hpa:
      $ apt - get install tftp-hpa
    4. Copy the firmware file to the tftp directory, in my case "300X_H0867.dld".
      $ cp 300X_H0867.dld/srv/tftp /.
    5. Give everyone read on the file permissions
      $ chmod a + x /srv/tftp/300X_H0867.dld
    6. Eventually, try to download the file from another computer on the network to check if it works (assuming that 192.168.1.1 the server IP).
      TFTP $192.168.1.1
      TFTP > get 300X_H0867.dld
If all goes well and as the file downloads, you should be good to go!
    7. Telnet in the Jetdirect 300 X. If necessary, restore default values to enable telnet server and set an IP as shown here: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-bpj02738
    8. Once in a telnet session, run the following commands (assuming that the tftp server address is 192.168.1.1):
      TFTP-server: 192.168.1.1
      updated - file: 300X_H0867.dld
      upgrade
    9. Immediately after that hit upgrade and pressing on enter, you will get a message saying that the Jetdirect will begin the update and your telnet session will be closed.
    10. In a minute or two, then try to telnet in the Jetdirect. If all goes well, type ' / ' and press ENTER, and you should see that the revision of the firmware is set to the new version!

  • Web Jetadmin custom field or similar

    Hello

I would like to have a field for each device where I can put information on the device that is not stored in the device.

I have several devices that appear to be disconnected (not in use right now, only connects occasionally...) and I would like to put a comment in the database to inform him of his status.

    Is it possible to do?

    Thank you!

I work for HP, but my messages and responses are mine. .....

    Hello

Absolutely! There is a tools, Options in Config item and it has the name defined by the user. Configure you a field defined by the user as 'MyNote. Once it is created, you will find it in the models and the config of the device. When you add the data to device of fleet or individual you will see in the columns you select.

  • HP Web Jetadmin 10.3 and LaserJet M1536dnf MFP communication error

    Hello!

    I followed http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=... , but no help.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you more, Alar.

    Hi and thanks!

I have it. I got off WS-Discovery. =) Earlier, I corrected which... WJA has done well.

    Thank you more, Alar.

  • Error of M602 with WJA 10.3 SR8

I got about 80 printers installed in HOSTS and works very well. However two LJ M602 printers have "Device communications error" messages and any attempt to obtain information in the Config tab result in "error of reading the parameters of the device. Pop-up messages will be displayed empty values.

    WJA is 10.3 SR8

M602 is updated to firmware revision dated the 20150218 2304070_439665

Am fully able to access SAP through web browser - network is not the problem

I have reset passwords for EWS and JetAdmin (again, have full web access to printer), does not change the WJA errors

Also reset the SMNP 1/2 community, no change

Normally disable us certain protocols network on the printer, but for fun I have ALL the (including WS-Discovery) reactivated to rule out this possibility. No change.

I deleted the printer inventory WJA and re-discovered it. No change.

I have select the choice of Refresh (full) - no change.

If I try the update of credentials on this printer in WJA I get the message that "none of the selected devices require new credentials.

Attempts change the parameters of the printer as a result HOSTS in the warning "device communications error."

I have two printers M602 with this problem. Two other printers M602 work very well (same firmware).

Scratching my head here. Any ideas?

I lived the same question on more than 80 of our M603s.  I finally found someone very useful at HP, which stated that it was a certificate problem.  They made a change to remove SSL v3 communications web jetadmin, then the private self-generated certificate should be uses superior rather than MD5 or SHA1, but it always seems to be a problem with this certificate is generated correctly.

You can specify if you experience the same problem by going to the web page of the server, network, authorization, certificates.  Display the certificate and if the Algorith Signature starts with md5 what may be the problem.

To fix, go back to certificates and select Configure.  Select a new self-signed certificate create and then click Finish.

While it was a manual process and must be done on each printer, it resolved the problem in all cases.  I hope this helps.

  • (64-bit) Windows 7 network printing

I want to print directly from my desktop Windows 7 (64 bit) on a network of HP printer WITHOUT the USE of an OTHER COMPUTER. I looked in the Web Jetadmin product, but from the technical description, I understand that print using Web Jetadmin on Windows 7 server does not support the definition of print queues. If this is correct, I need another solution. Any ideas?

    Hello.

Install the printerdriver you need, IE 64-bit upd on maschine you and then insert the ip address or the printer dns name in the properties/port under ip address settings. This is the standard way to print directly to a network printer.
