HP zbook 14: encryption driver Hp

I installed the driver Hp encryption, when asked me to reboot. After this he showd a screen to enter the password after it hangs at a black screen with a prompet blinkin, how much time should I wait?

Mudarjamal

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but a black screen with blinking cursor means the material priming procedure cannot find the Windows boot loader - and that's probably because, based on the title of your thread, you encrypted the bootloader with the files of the OS.

When you do this, Windows will NOT start because the boot loader should NOT be encrypted to make it work.

Won't be hard, but you shouldn't be messing around with the drive encryption unless you know exactly what you are doing.

What MIGHT work is to try to reinstall the Win10 bootloader files.  You need access to a PC for this phase of work in order to create the necessary support to fix your PC boot loader.

Once you have that, please download and create the Win10 installation media from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

Note that when you download and build install media, the default tool corresponding to what is already installed on your PC (as in home for the House, and 64-bit to 64 - bit).  While you CAN change these settings, are NOT. If you do, the media that results will be different and will force you to enter a NEW product code.

Boot from the media that you have created and follow the instructions in this link: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-advanced-startup-options-boot-windows-10-a.html

You will need to go to the Advanced Options screen and click on startup repair.  You will probably need to run Startup Repair three times for him to fix all the boot loader.

If it works, your computer should start OK.

If it does not, the only recourse is to do a complete reset of your PC, and to do this, you need to order recovery HP media.  It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

Don't forget to read through the material in the linked thread before attempting the recovery: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939

Good luck

  • Portege R930 - Cyrpto erase Self Encrypting Drive (SED)

    I have a R930 delivered with a model 320 disc Toshiba SED MK3261SYG.
The confidential nature of the existing data to clean the disc to reuse the system and understand that the reader has the possibility of being "completely erased" in replacing the encryption key, eliminating all access to information existing, any new data written after that the wipe using a different key.

This ability is well documented by Toshiba, but I can't know how in fact do this type of "rag". I understand that there is a lot of "crush" wipe the apps that I can use and have used in the past but the Toshiba WIPE"ability is what interests me as he will be much more quick and logical (at least to me) a"safer"approach

The worm R930 BIOS is 6.50 and although there are settings on the Security tab to activate passwords BIOS and HARD drive that restict access to the drive there is nothing there which allows me to do a "wipe" (or at least I think). None of the applications Toshiba security Assist, etc. utility password that are supplied with the 64-bit version of Win 7 appear to have this ability either.

I searched variousToshiba support sites and can't find any reference to any application that Toshiba makes available to allow a client to perform this type of wipe. I found a utility on the Seagate site, called Seatools which appears to allow you to do this with their readers, but hesitate to try it with Toshiba hardware

Can someone tell me the solution 'approved' Toshiba?

Thanks in advance for any help.
    ..

Some new discs hard Toshiba supports the technology to wipe of Toshiba.
The unique thing about these new readers is the fact that in certain circumstances, data are automatically removed from the hard drive.
For example, if the hard drive is stolen and it is connected and installed in another system.

Toshiba called the 'SED' HARD disk - which means sed Drives.

I could find a Toshiba info
    http://www.Toshiba.co.jp/about/press/2011_04/pr1301.htm

In addition, the technology wipe never work until the customer to activate and when wiping technology has been activated, the user cannot remove activation.
    How to activate it?
You can do it by the HARD drive password settings.

    Hello

Erasure SED technology is automatically activated if the HARD drive password has been set in the BIOS.

Then you n t need to configure it separately.

That is not appearing is not in the Finder when I plug it in or after a reboot. Don't know why... tried to remove entries from keychain etc nothing in 'fstab '...

... I vaguely remember trying to stop mounting encrypted disks once before, when I was on 10.6 (I improved that settle at 10.10), and had a system dual boot, it's long time (so the dialog to enter a password is displayed, it was annoying me after every restart)... I'm sure I did... don't know if I did it via fstab or if I could have changed something via the Terminal. fstab is empty, all the ideas I have on the other could have done, or if, that is related? Note, I also had issues getting FileVault working on this computer, he is actually caught a break and I had to target drive on another Mac to complete the encryption.

On 10.10.5 with all update BTW.

In this case, the answer was I moved the (disabled) com.apple.corestorage.corestoraged.plist:

  • G2 HP ZBook 17: additional drive for backup

in my HP ZBook 17 G2 I want to create a backup to avoid any possible malfunction

the idea was to add a backup drive, theres 2 free slots but I'm not sure what disc ive old buy

The idea is to use just to back up so probably doesn't have any SSD, but I'm not an expert

So were I can find the exact type of the disk that fits in my notebook?

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

    See page 44

It would seem that the laptop is running the operating system of a type of mSATA SSD or there is not two bays open for full 2.5 inch wide SATA hard drive.

For pure storage, what you need is a 2.5 inches wide 7mm or 9.5 mm thick laptop SATA like this:

    http://www.Amazon.com/Blue-Mobile-hard-disk-drive/DP/B00C9TEBJQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&QID=1461856475&SR=8-2&keywords=1+TB+2.5+inch

It is 1 TB of storage for $60. In addition, if you haven't already, you must the kit caddy/Caddy hard drive into the drive Bay:

    Citing the Manual:

The hard drive carrier, cover and screws are included in the hard disk hardware Kit, spare part number 734280-001.

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-734280-001-hard-drive-hardware/DP/B00FYLN13I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1461856586&SR=8-1&keywords=734280-001

The operating system will continue to operate from the SSD and when you install a blank disc you can initialize and format it in disk management and be a place for lots of storage. 2 TB drives are available if you need even more space. Theoretically, you can install 2 x 2 TB and 4 TB of storage. You can create a partition on one of these drives and configure Windows file backup/history to make an image with a backup system, at regular intervals, the so if the MSSD goes bad break out you in a new and to recover the laptop to exactly the State wherever it was when the last backup. The rest of the readers add-in, you can use for storage of work.

How my data recovery. If any possible way of recovering my lost data.

You need to ask the person who encrypted the files. Because he wanted to be absolutely sure that the files cannot be opened with the appropriate key, he used an inviolable encryption method.

  • BitLocker can be used to encrypt drives mirrored in a RAID 1 volume?

Is it possible to use Bitlocker to encrypt a RAID 1 volume in Windows 7 Ultimate? The volume consists of two mirrored disks, created with the help of a card mother RAID enabled. What happens if one of the disks fails? I'll still be able to read each other and to mirror it on a new drive?

I have the answer is simple. BitLocker does not work on software RAID, but it does not work for hardware RAID.

I'm running a RAID 1 running Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 and wanted a way to secure my drives with BitLocker. So I did a lot of research to finally find the answer on the Microsoft TechNet site, buried deeply. This response should be out in the open air using Windows 7, but I found nothing and wanted to be sure before I made a movement. Here is the link if you want to read up on it yourself. It will take you to a chart on to halfway to the bottom of the document. Our concern is listed under Drive Configuration > Software, where you will see that the RAIDs based on software are not supported. I also found similar confirmation on other sites/forums.

  • BitLocker encrypted drive. How can I access it?

Hello. I recently used Bitlocker to encrypt my external 1 to transcend hard drive. I got the recovery file, but then I had to format it because my computer was slow unexcpectedly. Unfortunately, before formatting my computer, I removed the password that will be used to unlock the drive, and I have not saved the file of recovery as well. I have now lost all my files that I can't access my hard drive without recovery. Is there something I can do?

When you select BitLocker, you did because you assumed that no one could crack her if he didn't have the recovery file. Your assumption is correct. BitLocker does not distinguish between the owner (you) and a thief. He cares only the recovery file. Sorry to say.

Before applying the encryption, it is essential to examine the situation of your PC is destroyed or stolen. You should ask yourself: I would always be able to access my encrypted media?
  • Shrink an encrypted drive

I use VMware Fusion Professional 5.0.1 (825449) (UI French), and I just created a new virtual from Windows 7 x 64 machine. I enabled encryption of disk (at the level of the virtual machine, not inside Windows 7). After I finished my installation, I now have 5 GiB disc space discrepancy between what actually uses my VM and the resumes of the VMDK file. So, I decide to the fret, using VMware Virtual Disk Manager, like this: Applications/VMware\ Fusion.app/Contents/Library/vmware-vdiskmanager k 'Windows 7 x64.vmwarevm/disc virtuel.vmdk' and I get the following error: could not open the disk 'Windows 7 x64.vmwarevm/disc virtuel.vmdk': cannot decrypt the drive because the key or the password is incorrect (0x1a00003e8e). Doesn't have to shrink the Windows 7 x64.vmwarevm/disc virtuel.vmdk disc ': cannot decrypt the drive because the key or the password is incorrect (0x1a00003e8e).  Which makes sense, really. The tool would be obliged to ask me the password or key, or I should say it somehow (for example in a file). I looked at using the Disk Manager, and I don't see a way to do it.  Did anyone done this before? I searched everywhere, but have not found any clue on how to go about it.  Thanks in advance, Paul

  • Unable to open encrypted drive up to that "turn off the csrutil.

I was using OSX 8.5 until a few days ago. One of my discs is encrypted. For some reason I couldn't open it for a long time. A day after a reboot, the system refused to open it (I just restart my Mac Book every now and then). I tried several combinations of the password, nothing helps. It was not so important, because the disk contained only the old data.

Two days ago, I have updated to OS x 11.5 and gave him a new trial, nothing had changed.

However, today, I needed to disable the security protection by a "turn off the csrutil. A nice side effect is that I can re - open the disk encrypted with my known password.

    Isn't it strange?

    Nestor22,

With the Perc 5 controller / i you can't use sed, the first controller that supported was the H700. It is not a software solution that I know. Depending on the server you have, you can consider the upgrade to the H700. If you let me know the model then I might let you know compatibility and the part number.
