hpe-550f upgrade video card

I'm looking to upgrade the video card on my HPE-550f 57XX Radeon stock. food seems to be the factor limiting. So far, it seems that the Geforce TI 650 would be a good choice. Nobody knows for sure if it is compatible, or if there is a better choice?

The Radeon HD 7850 seems good but they recommend a 500W power supply and the 550f is 460 I think. I think I can put it for less power in the control center.

Thank you.

Jonathan, welcome to the forum.

The Ti 650 should be compatible with your computer.  However, be sure that the current power supply (PSU) has a 6-pin PCI Express power connector.  This is required at least on the Ti of 650 EVGA.

You will need to upgrade the PSU to use HD 7850.

I have never updated a video card or a power supply before and am a little worried about this procedure. I have a HPE-180 t and I want to spend the GT 220 GPUS to a GTX 560 Ti.

The thing is that when I open the case, I don't know if there is enough space. I read that the 560 Ti is a large map and takes about 2 connectors on the motherboard. The GT 220 that I look pretty tight on one side, and it is not as big as the 560. Someone has it already done this before update? I don't know if the case of the size vary between models of HP Office.

Great, thank you for taking the time to answer.  You are welcome!  I'm happy to help you.

I was just wondering, how did you choose this particular video card? It seems that there is a lot of variety of different manufacturers.  Over the years, I have spent many hours on the forums of enthusiasts/player/overclocking.  From this experience, I came to love graphics cards XFX, BFG, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.  They are the manufacturers who make very good products and offer good customer Service.  Also, when you pick up any product, I read as many customers as possible.  They give you the straight scoop without any exaggeration of the manufacturer.  Other customers the better.  When I see a product that has more than 200 customers and is rated 4 stars or higher, I won't hesitate to buy it.  Some comments may be pros, but the majority are people like you and me.  I hope that explains my choice.

Also, I noticed that the product dimensions are 9 "x 4,38", which I suppose is just length x width. The "depth" (or width when looking from the rear which is held vertically) is not listed, so that usually not a problem (i.e. it will not conflict with what anyone on either side)?  If the card fits in length and the width and height of the map is not as critical.  Most cases will be enough space.  The length is more critical, however.  I would stay 9 "or less.  Normally, this ensures that the card will fit in the case of medium-sized and allowing good air flow.  A card will be a full case.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.  I'm always happy to help someone to learn about the components of the computer.

A PNY gtx 950 should physically be in a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210f? I already know that I have to upgrade the power supply, but before shelling out more money, I figured I would see if anyone knew if the card fits?

    KKingotu, welcome to the forum.

The problem you will have with the GTX 950 is, it requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  Your computer was released on February 5, 2010.  There is no way to update the UEFI BIOS.  You can contact Technical Support PNY to see if they have a VBIOS update for the video card that will work with your motherboard.

Meanwhile in the space provided, you can measure e/s rear plate on the front of the computer case to see if any of the components.  In addition, it is a wide double card (two locations).

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE 547c: upgrade graphics card for HP Elite

I tried to replace/upgrade to update my graphics card for my desktop PC. I tried several video cards, but with each one, once it is installed and the computer turned on, the image does not register with the monitor. Everything else seems to work, but the monitor gives no answer. It was only a problem once the original video card has been removed. The current video card, I am trying to install is the NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 730.

In the course of the years, I added a memory and the power supply has been upgraded, but all the rest are always original parts (http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-Elite-HPE-Desktop-PC-series/5035344/model/5074426/do...

Is this a problem with the other parties, who will need to be replaced or is there something else I forget?

    Thank you.

    Hello

You're dominant, in your case, the most important factor-BIOS compatibility... more recent maps, like the gt730, require the UEFI BIOS to run... you have a LEGACY BIOS system, and cannot do anything, unless you change your motherboard... your pc is a model of early 2011... UEFI standard HP in their systems of end of 2012...

You can watch other maps, if... the 700 series card youre looking at is a maxwell model 2014... There are in this region that come with a feature of hybrid bios which offers wider compatibility on legacy systems... or you can look at maps more old pascal/fermi architecture that work exclusively on legacy BIOS systems...

    Hope this helps

  • Pavilion p7 - 1207c: upgrade video card on Pavilion p7 - 1207c

    Hello

I am wanting to upgrade the integrated graphics card that came with my computer to a GeForce GT 730.

I already have the card and was plugged into my PCIe x 16 slot and see the fan turns, but neither my BIOS or Windows sees a card plugged into this niche.

I go into the BIOS to see if I had to activate the crack, but the only option I see is to disable or enable security on the slot. It has already been set to disabled.

I am at a loss to know recognized, and if more info is needed I am happy to provide.

Your desktop computer motherboard is pre-UEFI. This means that a video card with a vBIOS EFI will not work.

Return the video card and find one that allows switching between legacy vBIOS and EFI BIOS. A video card with a legacy vBIOS will also work.

Check out Sapphire Technology graphics cards. They made a number of card games that have a dual video BIOS that allows switching between UEFI or legacy vBIOS.

    http://www.sapphiretech.com/catapage_pd.asp?cataid=271 & lang = eng

You can check that by the removal of the video card and starting the Windows machine.  In the search box type in MSINFO. Who calls on system information. Take a look down the list to find the subject that says BIOS mode. to the right you will see what type of BIOS of your motherboard has.

The following image of sysinfo is desktop DIY that I'm typing this.

  • Satellite Pro A10: Question about upgrading video card

Hi guys, I have a laptop Satellite Pro A10 and I was wondering if anyone of you could help me.

I want to improve my Ram card memory and video. The video card now is an Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller and want a graphics card with at least 128 MB of memory on this subject.
    Any recommendation?
Any help would be appreciated muchly.

    Hello

It of not possible to change the graphics card. The graphics card is a small chip that attaches to the motherboard.
This graphics card supports up to 64 MB shared memory. The graphics card gets this value of main memory if it s needed.

The possibility to upgrade the memory of this device is something different.
You can upgrade the memory to max 1024 MB (2x512MB) and these modules should work.
    PC2100 128 MB (PA3126U - 1 M 12)
    PC2100 256 MB (PA3127U - 1 M 25)
    PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51)

Hope this will help a little.

  • Satellite 1900-303: Question about upgrade video card

I have satellite 1900 - 303 and want to somehow upgrade the video card. Is that someone has an idea that is possible or not and if yes how and where to buy a new one.
    Thank you

    Hi Galin,

It is generally not possible to update the graphics card in a notebook. They are generally adapted to fit the available space and also specially designed drivers that are specific to your model of laptop. It is also quite common for them to use the RAM shared rather than having their own chip RAM (although some later model specifications have dedicated for graphics RAM).

You can check in your advanced (from Control Panel) display options if you can adjust the RAM available for your graphics card.

    Hello

Yes, it is possible. Please check this list to find out the card fits your budget. Please also note do not buy card that needs high power (approximately 10w - 15w more your existing card should be ok) otherwise you will have to buy a new power supply.

  • XPS 8300, upgrade video card

    Hi I have a Dell XPS8300

It came with the card AMD Radeon HD 6450, but there isn't enough good run the latest games, not even with settings very low... This is why I intend to upgrade that.

The problem is that I don't know if the map I want to buy is compatible or if I could make it work... I'm really new to this so I need a little help please...

    It's the map: http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Superclock-Dual-Link-Graphics-02G-P4-3753-KR/dp/B00IDG3IDO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1401905637&sr=8-4&keywords=nvidia+gtx+780

Im not in that of a hardcore gamer who wants ultra graphics on all games, I want to just that my PC to run the latest games at least on a medium to high heat (or even low) with decent FPS...

I believe that my 6 GB DDR3 RAM and Intel core i5-2300 (2.80 Ghz) with this video card should be enough.

Please let me know (any expert on the subject) if I can use this card without problem so I can just click 'buy' haha. Or if it something else I have to make it work please let me know

    Thanks :)!

GTX 560 it is no longer on the market so there is no need to buy this card unless you found it used for $100 or less on ebay.  The GTX 750 Ti is a better deal for a new card and I'd get this one.  I've seen where users have for their XPS 8300 GTX 750 it and it works fine.

    Hello world

So, with cars of which will be released in March I thought to upgrade the video card in my Alienware X 51.  Unfortunately, I get some conflicting signals that I perform an Internet search on what cards will and work habit.  I'll definitely with Nvidea but where the concern comes is food.  My pc has a 330w power supply and I want to make sure that everything I buy will work correctly on this subject.  Also, there is a bit of a problem of space because I think that video cards up to 9.5 inches fits.  Correct me if I'm wrong on either, but I was wondering if you may be able to offer a video card for me.  I'm looking in the high-end 400.00.  Any help would be great!

    If it helps I currently GTX 555, i7-3770 w / 16 GB of ram, windows 7

Correction: you must have a 330w PSU to run a high range GPU, and you should have a power supply r2 card to launch the GTX 900 series (I hope not for the GTX 960, though).

R2 Power Board can be installed together with a card mother r1.

When I tried to install all this that I had was a screen empty. I reinstalled the original video card and it worked fine.

I've seen a few similar posts on these cards, but not all solutions are here. What do you guys recommend? Should I just found another type of card? Is there another which offers similar performance that will work with this system?

    Hello

I looked at some video card PowerColor HD7870 and they were ready UEFI.  Your PC is not loan UEFI.

The UEFI Sapphire documentation clarifiies video card compatibility. Consider the following text:

«The SAPPHIRE HD...» UEFI edition/UEFI loans products are compatible with motherboards that are consistent with the specification UEFI 2.3.1 or later. It is also compatible with motherboards that did not feature UEFI. Motherboards containing an earlier version of UEFI must be updated to the latest version or have the off option to UEFI, otherwise, the graphics card will start in legacy mode, or in some cases no start at all. Please refer to your manual for the motherboard for the BIOS update instruction".

Looking for a ready video card no UEFI.

    Hi IRL1231,

Open your PC and a few measurement in parallel with the PCI-E x 16 slot to see how long of a video card will fit. The adjacent slot on the PCI-E x 16 slot must be vacant. Look at the motherboard, and ensures that the components on the motherboard will not interfere with the installation of the video card.

This PowerColor Radeon 6850is $130 after rebate.  The card is 8.5 "length.

PSU Corsair CX500is $ 40 after rebate and it's quality food.

TIP: Remove the flange (cover) and unlock the scanner and move forward before you remove and replace the power supply. This will facilitate installation. The new PSU cables will be longer so find an empty Bay and store them in order to improve air flow.  Install the power supply and that your PC stable first before installing the video card.
