As the title suggests, I can look perfectly fine and find EVERYTHING in a folder with even the most detailed search operators, but only if I index the file. I had the same problem with Windows 7 as well and I don't know how to get around this problem. I think it may have something to do with the case in question is on an external drive but I still don't understand why this is the case. Indexing is supposed to make the search faster for a specific folder, but no matter what I do, Indexing always brings Vista only returning "no matches" for each search query. If I was of the same type in one letter, he found nothing.

Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I started again and got to windows update and it had 96 updates then leave it overnight and then this morning I went back and checked for more updates. There were six more... updated and all finished. I tried a CD again and still does not work. I hear it running briefly. it dosent go further than that. and when I goto my computer it dose not show what is in the drive, it is there, but cannot be explored... I've tried everything I can think of and am ready to throw it in a channel! Help, please

Please ALL these even though you might have made some before as it's often the total process that
solves the problem. And of course, it could be a bad drive.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. And yes the drive can not display at all then otherwise just go
down the resolution of problems.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

We have a HP MSA2012i ISCSI SAN and our ESX hosts are DL380 g6 with dual-port HBAS (Qlogic QLE406Xc) were also running ESX 4.0 and vCenter.
I can see the cards under my storage adapters, but when we do an ANALYSIS of new LUNS they do not appear. We checked it wasn't a problem to switch by plugging directly on the MSA modules.
Also, I went in the HBA BIOS and did a scan "for devices" and nothing comes up.
