Hue / Sam vs curve on mix color

Hello

wanted to ask you what is the difference between Desaturate an image using hue/sat and do the same thing through curve on the color blend by lowering the white point. Had the impression that it would have the same result, but is not and the images stand out.

Thank you very much

Mix with the color blending mode preserves the gray levels in the image or the luminance of each color. When you drop the white point downwards all the way you take away all the light that produces a black adjustment. As Black has no color (dyed) the result is an image that has no color but retains the luminance values of the underlying layer.

If bright a color (yellow) which has a high luminance remains clear (light grey)

By the way, you can use any adjustment layer and zero values in order to achieve the same thing. You could also use a black, white or grey pixels layer and do the same thing. The point being if the upper layer has no color (hue) and is mixed with the help of the color mode only survive the luminance values of the underlying layer.

The hue/Sat adjustment layer all you do is remove the color but do not ask Photoshop to take into account the luminance values of the underlying layer. Change its color blending mode and you will see results identical to those of the curves layer.

It is important to note, however, that there is no right or wrong here. Just different results.

  • How to mix color front/rear

    There used to be a way to mix colors, selected objects, forward backward or up and down (I think it was found in the title of "Filter"). This feature is still hidden somewhere?

    I don't want to create a blend between objects, I want just to cause a change in additional color, depending on the items front/top or bottom/back. I guess I could create a compound shape and fill with a gradient, but that creates more complex objects that I want.

    Thank you.

    Since CS3, the command "Before mixing backward" is available by choosing Edition > edit colors > blend front to back. You will find also in the same place 'Mixture' horizontally & "mix vertically.

    1. you can set the mode of your clone stamp in the "Color" option bar then clone in the desired color. You can also try the color replacement brush.

    2. There are several ways to do this:

    Is to add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer on your image. Move the Saturation slider to-100 to remove all colors. Click OK to accept. Set your foreground on black color chip; then take the Brush tool. Select a soft brush. Paint on the mask to reveal the color. If you color overflows, switch to white to the color paint.

    Note: To mix your own black and white, go through each of the colors in the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer menu and set the cursor of saturation of each color to-100. Go back and adjust the brightness of each color to your liking slider.

    If you PSE8, there is a smart brush that can be used to do this.

    3. There are several ways to do it too.

    An easy way would be to convert the image in black and white... see #2. Then add a filter adjustment layer Photo... set it to sepia. Increase the setting of density to taste; Make sure the box that says 'Keep the brightness' is checked.

  • Mix colors using 1.0 Gamma Bug in AE 2015.3

    I noticed that 2015.3 AE still open projects with "Blend colors using 1.0 Gamma" unchecked despite the project file saved with it checked. This also has the side effect of making aerender.exe unusable with these settings. Specifically, I work with the following parameters:

    Depth: 32 bits

    Workspace: no

    Mix colors using 1.0 Gamma: checked

    Note that he is not checked if you work in any space of color in addition to 'None', but 'None' is ideal for my project. A glimpse of this apparent bug? This Setup worked very well with AE 2015.

    Thank you!

    Thanks for filing the bug. I've been reviewing, reproduced the problem and he crossed to our developers for investigation. Sorry for the bug.

  • Mix colors Pantone - like CMYK channels?

    Hey everybody,

    I just registered on the forum and had a look. Hello to all and I'm happy forums like this are around!

    So, my question is I hope that whoever is possible. I looked away but can't find no difinitive answer or maybe I did not write the question right but that's...

    What I want to do [in photoshop], treat 4 colors pantone CMYK channels. I mean by I would like to replace the Cyan, Magenta, yellow and black with my own colors [pantone colors] and ask them mix and act exactly like these channels. As when I open a full color image and my pantone [or any color] channels or color profile is activated, the full color image will react to these colors [with the mixture of colors].

    Instead of 45% yellow Cyan, 55% Magenta, 83% and 2% black in a given location, it would be a mixture of the 4 colors chosen [example: 45% pantone A, 55% Pantone B, 83% Pantone C, 2% Pantone D].

    or to say it another way, if I was to color the background in, say, a blue, I would be able to use the "Info" Panel to see how each pantone color was mixed to create this color. Of course, there would be a limit to the colors that I could create based on the pantone colors, that I select.

    I don't want to do anything with this printing technique. I'm looking to him only as a spectator to the screen, or maybe use it in a certain way for screen printing.

    Anyone have any ideas on how to achieve this?

    Thanks in advance.

    How about using outdated color management settings, pre-profil CCI?

    Enter your color schemes, and select Custom CMYK as your working CMYK space. Under the colors of ink, select custom, defined the four colors by the eye and check the estimate overprints. It won't be very accurate and it would be certainly better done using color profiles, but I suppose you expect not much accuracy. And don't forget to change your settings back to something more appropriate for litho printing, if you don't have any.

  • Draw curved line with color gradient

    How to draw the curved line (using the pencil tool) with color gradient (example: blue, yellow or white to gray)?

    Can not change the color of color gradient stroke?

    Here's a way to kind of work.

    Use the lag effect (CS3) and fill with a gradient.

    Note that the gradient is not actually 'follow' but where it is located (in this case) horizontally.

  • Blending mode (where are basis and mix colors?)

    The manual defines these three terms. (See page 350, "Blend Modes"):

    1. The base color is the original color in the image.
    2. The color mixture is the color applied to the painting or editing tool.
    3. The final color is the color resulting from the merger.

    So, if I have the following layers:

    1. Layer 'A' is above the layer "B"; and
    2. Layer 'A' is a blending mode assigned. For example, "Leclerc".

    So which layers contain the base and mix the colors?

    In other words:

    1. Is the 'A' of the blend color layer?
    2. Is layer "B" base color?

    j_french wrote:

    1. Is the 'A' of the blend color layer?

    Yes

  • Mesh gradients shares same border display where mixed gaps

    I have two gradient meshes that are adjacent to each other, sharing a single border in the middle.  The objective is simply to make it look as if they were a single mesh, or for the purposes of this work, a unique texture and continues.

    Depending on the level of zoom, preview mode displays a glaring white gap between where the cracks meet.  Because the way the borders overlap, I don't understand why this is here, and why sometimes it disappears depending on the zoom level.  I can't afford to have this gap displayed any zoom level for the final version of this work.  I will export this. File of HAVE to. PDF.

    It is a white space because he has the white color of my work plan "background."  If I want a real form behind the two meshes, where they are supposed to overlap, for example in black, then the gap would become black.  It seems that all that is behind the cracks in the place where they are supposed to join shines through.

    I zoomed in to 6400% to confim that borders (and handles) two stitches where they join are PERFECTLY STRAIGHT.  I note also that the anchor points on the ends of each gradient mesh where they overlap are EXACTLY in the same position and are EXACTLY the same color.

    Attachment1 gradient - two STS in preview mode, with glaring white gap where the borders overlap.

    Attachment2-same, but traced mode

    Attachment1 Attachment3-same, but with the two selected directly meshes

    Attachment4-same place, but zoomed in 6400%-l' white space left!

    http://img529.imageshack.us/i/attach4.jpg/

    The gap appears in my. Doc PDF at any time?  Can I fix without redunantly overlapping points gradient mesh a column over far in?  Thoughts?

    Thank you

    There is an option in the preferences General illustrators, causing a harmonious display of graphics (it's in the left column). Turn off the power - is the gap still there?

  • Same colours appear as different colors

    Hello

    I created different graphics, I imported to the title of Framemaker.  They were all pieces of our color (CMYK 100, 0, 0, 0) that all displays them properly.  If I create an object in Framemaker using a custom color, it displays fine, but when I pdf, it is a different color.

    Here is an example:

    http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/4907/20120529112907.PNG

    The upper band is the right color, but the text appears in a different shade.

    Color logo is correct, but the line and the Strip on the right, that I created in Framemaker, is a strange blue.

    Any ideas?

    I assume you are using Windows.

    1 framework has no color management and will never, we are told.

    2. Windows trashes CMYK, even Vista SP1 and later with fake CMYK.

    If you must use CMYK, import all of these objects in EPS. Mr. Bill's GDI don't mess with those.

    The other alternative is to take a RGB color space and distill to mark all the images for the color management, stating that the space in the value. Then knit that the input RGB values create values of RGB final desired.

    CMYK 100-0-0-0 may be out of gamut for reasonable RGB, sRGB esp systems.

    Get the color of the text based on other objects of color is problematic. If you tag everything for color management, black text is rendered in composite black - slow, huge and not really black.

    There are probably tools of alternatives for correcting the colors in the PDF files.

  • Opacity of the giving the same value as the fill color (reversal opacity/fill)

    I'm looking to add a script that takes the value of fill of nuances in my art folder and apply these values to the opacity of each sample.  I would also like to be able to adjust the fill value to be 100% when you are finished.  I have a javascript script that I thought would work, but it has no effect on any of the objects in the file.

    Example:

    Original art: object 1: fill 50%, opacity 100% / / object 2: fill 60%, opacity 100%

    Desired result: object 1: fill 100%, opacity 50% / / object 2: fill 100%, opacity 60%

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Sorry the question was silly and useless, so I deleted it...

    This is the absolutely most fundamental and most simple way to do this. It's not the ideal way because it relies on the hard numerical values. but with this, you should be able to design other variables or arrays to make it work with values that do not have to be hard-coded.

    var docRef = app.activeDocument;
    var paths = docRef.pathItems;

    for (i=0; i< paths.length; i++){
        if (paths[i].fillColor.tint == 50 && paths[i].opacity == 100){
            paths[i].fillColor.tint = 100;
            paths[i].opacity = 50;

            }
        else if (paths[i].fillColor.tint == 100 && paths[i].opacity == 50){
            paths[i].fillColor.tint = 50;
            paths[i].opacity = 100;

            }

  • Hue, curves curves of Saturation and curves Alpha

    Is there any Hue and Saturation curves in any plugin native for AE.  It's something I read in the Guide of Color Correction.  Indeed, he refers to them as hue vs Sam curves and hue vs. Luminance.

    I think you can adjust the saturation of high light, Mid tones and shadow independently in Color Finesse.

    And what about the curves preset in AE.  This hell you use curve Alpha for?  I tried on several clips that had Alpha channels and IT did nothing.  I noticed a change very very light on text.

    AE CS4 ON MAC

    THANKS IN ADVANCE

    We have added those of Color Finesse 3, which is included with CS5, CS5.5, but it is not available as a plug-in included with CS4.

    You could upgrade to a later version of the AE, update your copy of Color Finesse from 2.1 to 3.0 or watch other third-party plug-ins curve.
